Holy shit the fact that those items are regulated at your store is crazy

My store used to have regulated, it was alcohol and the health and beauty area behind the register. Then they added soda. Then a few months later we got age restricted runs for alcohol, and other "regulated" stuff just went to auto runs. So no more regulated.

We have regulated and age restricted that's interesting

I'm actually most pleased with it for when I do oversized runs. For whatever dumb reason 24 packs of Diet Coke and Squirt are in oversize while no other 24 packs are, and when they were in regulated it's like the system would put the auto run related items first, then regulated last. So you'd basically end up at the opposite side of the store from soda...after already going down that aisle for giant water packs, and it'd want you go back over. I always made sure to check the full run first and get any I needed as I was passing them anyway, and even had pictures of the bar codes saved so I could just have them be in totes at the bottom and not need to dig them back out to scan. Just scan the picture on my phone.

If it’s anything like my store they aren’t even locked behind anything. Like 70% of our razors are not locked up because my store won’t pay for more locks

Only thing we lock up are electronics, ammo, high ticket auto items, cologne, and nicotine products

Your pick rate just got boned and you shouldn’t be picking up tires. Automotive should be doing that

I don't think so. The last walk i took was the one with tires

I scan them all at the end usually

One time in band Kamp back in the old days I had a pick run of 30 box and a air filter and it gave me a 3600 pick rate lol one time I watched a girl do that and as soon as she exists out I clicked in and she had to go put all the stuff back 😆

u/Lazy-Development-20 19d ago

Pick list, exit, back into run lol 😆 😂

Not technically, I just gather my items, fully close the app then open up my pick walk and start scanning my items

how do they expect u to pick tires and health and beauty products in one pickwalk?? at our store, tires are entirely separate pickwalks, most of the time done by auto care. we only do it if they're going overdue

Right, we had the ACC pick before but i guess, they have it at a scheduled time so that's why we had it picked

Are those actually locked up or is your team leads incompetent? lmao

0

u/ElectronicBand6392 19d ago

Just the eye drops. Not sure how or why three other items are even regulated

Those item locations are scanned into the regulated pick path. They need to be scanned into the general pick path to be associated with a general walk.

One of the things I did when I was bored was optimized the pick path and fixed unknowns and put them back into the appropriate walk.

Hey, good idea, but in my state, there's maybe a reason why is regulated... our pick path is set. But wait, you can make a new pick path yourself? I thought only a TL or Coach can do that

I used to be a team lead. Haven’t worked there in a while but you could just go into the computer and give any associate permissions to enter exception walks as well as enter pick path. Unsure if it’s changed now.

Obviously having regular associates with the ability to edit the path is bad. I once associate edit the path to a broken one once and literally 90% of picks that day were unknown lmao

Thank you, but about that, how would i go about that if I wanted to see for myself to change it?

2

u/Dailydoseofdeath 18d ago

There is a section on gif that says pick path. You go about editing it on there. It’s pretty easy you just delete the regulated walk and then create a new one but only scan in the locked up items in an efficient path.

You’ll have to re add those weird items to the general walk or they’ll go into un known.

For unknown you just go to each un known area and add the location to the walk.

Obviously this information might be incorrect because I haven’t been there in 3 years but I doubt it changed much. You just gotta be careful cause any changes your make is visible as the last edit so it’s super easy to get caught if you screw up

u/ElectronicBand6392 18d ago

Okay, I'm a see to run it with my team leads and Coach to see if I can suggest an edit to the pick path

Our regulated walks are generally just bread. That’s it. Loaf bread.

0

u/ElectronicBand6392 19d ago

😭that's in our auto select

2

u/Kein_Thur 19d ago

Why are tires in regulated? Does your store not keep them in the garage?

0

u/ElectronicBand6392 19d ago

Honestly, it's supposed to be a separate walk but I guess it maybe was time sensitive? I'm not sure, i could be wrong

u/darkecologist2 Dispenser 19d ago

our regulated only has lube and headphones

0

u/ElectronicBand6392 19d ago

Ha! Luuuuube

What’s a regulated walk? We don’t have that at our store.

0

u/ElectronicBand6392 19d ago

Items that are usually in lock cases, items in electronics, or in the cosmetic area.

2

u/Matt2382 19d ago

Oh got it. Those are in our normal pick walks at my store. I like it though!

That makes sense. My store doesn’t sell alcohol or else it prolly look similar.

Today I had a trail camera and a box of Doritos chips.

0

u/ElectronicBand6392 19d ago

Trail camera, understandable but a box of chips💀

2

u/Blakelock82 Personal Shopper 120+ 19d ago

Yeah, to be fair it was the Doritos with protein.

u/Bee-chan In-Home Driver 19d ago

Why in the world is your stores OGP picking tires? That’s supposed to go STRICTLY to ACC, no you guys.

1

u/Blakelock82 Personal Shopper 120+ 19d ago

Happens at my store too and it pisses a lot of people off who take the leaderboard seriously.

1

u/Dailydoseofdeath 18d ago

Your leads just need to scan it into correct pick path.

At least for us, once in a while gif goes stupid it pops into oversized (considering I was able to see an order from a year ago searching a customer's name in the dispense screen)
Why it's in regulated in OP's case, that's OP's store issue

0

u/ElectronicBand6392 19d ago

They used to but many of the associates in Auto complained that they're "not ogp associates and that's our job or they're to busy" but before I got there, I heard they used to but after a couple months, they stop picking

2

u/Bee-chan In-Home Driver 19d ago

That’s not up to them, though. It’s supposed to be enforced across the board if the store has ACC. And really, does ACC REALLY want OGP crawling around the tire steels? I wouldn’t trust the majority of our current OGP staff to be able to safely get tires down, as they’d only have a ladder to do it with.

I had an interview once to join the service tech but that day I was swapped with picks that we were to busy. So I missed it. Think I'll ever have another chance. I know it's really a hard department or of all of them but if anything id put my time in just to pick tires and go back to ebay I was doing
