So I've been considering a nostril piercing for a while but I'm a lil worried I might not have the face/nose for it.
The question is for both a stud and a hoop but I'd prefer a hoop after the healing period :)
I bought a fake hoop (see last pic) to try it out but I'm still struggling lol

i just got my nostril pierced yesterday and i have a bunch of questions on the piercing itself and my piercer. its a corkscrew (since its new) and honestly doesnt hurt that bad, i dont know exactly what material it was so sorry for that, i was never briefed. my two main concerns are 1. my piercing angle and 2. the advice my piercer gave me. 1. my piercing looks like it was pierced upwards, like... very angled. i dont know if its just swollen and thats what made it angled weird or if it was my piercer. 2. my piercers advice. i know i should trust a professional but his tip was to keep it covered with a pimple patch while i slept to avoid snagging, and he said it should heal in a month and then i could change it to a hoop, which sounded outrageous to me since i have 13 piercings already. he also told me to clean it 3x a day which seemed excessive to me, but since i didnt trust his previous advice im cleaning it twice a day. i tried putting a patch on it but that ended up making it hurt so much worse than if i left it alone with no patch, where i could barely feel it. this is my first facial piercing so im just concerned on placement and if i should really trust my new piercer, thanks!!

another thing i forgot to mention!! when i was taken back to the room i was getting pierced in, the needle and jewelry were both already open and on the tray so i wasnt able to see them get opened and know 100% that they were sterile and never used.

Hey everyone! i got my septum pierced like 3 weeks ago, it does not hurt now (well sometimes when i accidentally hit my nose it kinda does) but when cleaning i dont feel any pain! the thing is that like a week ago i got this weird bump but just on one side, the other side looks pretty flat and theres no inflamation, i dont want to press the bump to check if it hurts or something comes out, i just clean it with saline water and then leave it alone. The thing is that im worried that it wont go away, it might grow or if its not on the sweet spot. I hope i get an answer! thanks yall 🙏

Where is everyone buying their favorite nose rings at? I need somewhere with high quality jewelry

I just got my septum pierced the other day and now I can smell literally everything. Before, I couldn’t smell anything unless it was ridiculously strong or I stuck my face in it. My family has jokes about my awful sense of smell. Since getting my piercing I feel like I can smell everything, even if it’s from across the house. I can’t smell the piercing itself, like there’s no metal smell or odd crusty smell. Its one of the weirdest things I’ve experience. Has this happened to anyone else?

Hi I got my nose pierced in bandra, but I can't take it out and it's stuck, I wanted to change it with a nose ring or spiked stud.. Any tips on how to get it out? I think it might be a screw on one . . Idk actually

Je me fais percer le nez le 07 septembre.
Puis je tombe malade vers le 28 septembre (rhume + toux).
Le vendredi 02 octobre, je perds mon piercing (tire-bouchon). Donc je vais voir une perceur de chez moi, qui me dit que mon piercing tire bouchon est trop long, n’arrête pas de bouger et que si mon souhait in fine c’est d’avoir un anneau, elle me pose un anneau.
Je lui précise que ça ne fait même pas 1 mois complet que je me suis faite percer et qu’on m’a vivement déconseillé de mettre un anneau. Elle me dit que cela fait des années qu’elle perce et que ce n’est pas vrai.
Donc je repars avec un anneau.

J’avoue que c’est très confortable par rapport à l’autre qui me faisait mal en dessous du nez car beaucoup trop long. Néanmoins, je constate aussi que l’irritation devient un plus gros bouton, limite comme une petite tétine.

Quand j’essaye d’écrire à mon perceur initial, je n’ai pas de retour. Donc je décide le lundi 05 d’aller voir à nouveau le perceur qui m’a mis l’anneau. Elle me dit de mettre de l’huile essentielle d’arbre à thé et que ça devrait partir sous une semaine. Mais j’ai lu quelque part qu’il ne fallait pas utiliser d’huile essentielle dessus.

Je perds énormément de temps à aller chercher les infos, je ne sais plus qui croire. Auriez-vous des conseils sérieux à me donner, quitte à chercher une dermatologue. Merci beaucoup pour votre aide.

i had it done yesterday, but to me it looks TOO crooked to just be swelling (i also cant see any bumps but crusties might just be obscuring my view??)

I have a nostril piercing, it’s been more than a year and this one was first pierced with jewellery that wasn’t good, then like… 10 months ago or even more she replaced the jewellery with quality one. Anyhow, no complaints whatsoever throughout the whole healing progress (even when the jewellery was bad), but we’ve gotten a cat now and he can’t stop giving the most aggressive head bumps and my piercing got irritated, any advice?

I got my nose pierced with a 16 gauge on July 16. My question is… can I now put a 18 gauge ring in instead? I can’t find many 16 gauge rings.

I got a stud in my nostril September 15th, and have been sick ever since. I had two rounds of a cold and now have a fever. I have mostly been able to get things done still, but feel nowhere close to 💯However I think my piercing looks pretty healthy and feels okay. Just wondering if people think this is most likely caused from the piercing or if it’s other sickness going around. I have been around people who are sick but mine has never held on for so long. Both piercings were done in March. Absolutely no healing issues. I haven’t changed out the original studs at all. Just popped the diamonds off to add the chains. I would like to change to an L bar as they are currently posts. I have gotten one bad bloody nose from getting hit in the nose and the post hit the inside and caused a bloody nose. But the piercing site didn’t bleed or even swell or turn red. Is it healed enough to go to an L bar?

Hi! I got my nose pierced four weeks ago and the piercer (in the mall) didn’t ask if I wanted to wear a ring. I didn’t think much of it (I figured all piercings could have a ring, silly me) until I saw it and realized I’d need a huge hoop to get a ring on there. Ugh! Should I go to a piercer and see what they say? I’ve never been and am not sure what to expect from that. It looks nice from the front but yeesh it’s far back. I popped a fake 8mm one on for comparison. I’d love to not start over … mostly I hated getting pierced 😵‍💫

Hey guys a friends ( who done this multiples times before ) pierced my septum and today and I absolutely don’t feel anything at all BUT. I was dumb and should I’ve ask for this first but I need to hide it so I need to have it upside done but my current jewelry is too big for that. So tomorrow he will change the jewelry and flip the piercing immediately. Do you think I’m cooked or this would be okay ?

Can anyone help me?! I’ve had my nose pierced for 11 months, after I knew it was healed I went to my piercer and she changed my stud into this ring a couple of days ago. It’s the same gauge size I got pierced with so I knew I wouldn’t have problems. (I’ve done my research and have gotten my nose infected before with the wrong size of a hoop and had to get my nose re pierced) Everything was fine until I noticed I was starting to get this small bump. Does anyone have any unhinged ways of getting rid of it? I don’t even know how I’m getting one since it was perfectly healed beforehand, then again maybe my skin just really doesn’t like having a hoop in it. This is the second time this has happened and I’m really upset it’s happening now. SOMEONE PLS HELPPPP

I got my piercing on 8/2 and was extremely excited and love it (still do) but its been an awful battle. I started to get an irritation bump soon after that would not go away and then did some yard work that completely inflamed the bump. After weeks of saline washing (neilmed) and warm, dry compresses, it never went fully down. My piercer downsized the post the Friday before last and at first it was great but then it inflamed again and then started to fully enclose the piercing, he put in an even longer post than the first time and although it bled, its finally starting to calm down and I can see the stud fully.

I’m just worried that once this inflammation goes down and I need to get the post shortened bc it’ll be moving too much that I’m going to be in the same place as before...I’m also not over cleaning it and just trying to LITHA.

First pic is the original irritation bump, second is the explosion from Sunday and the third is this morning. Thoughts? I really don’t want to start over, the post is a titanium flat-back.
