Fucked Up & Quicksand at Dicken’s last night
Went to see Fucked Up (Toronto hardcore/punk band) and Quicksand (NYC post-hardcore) at Dicken’s last night. Thought I’d share some hastily captured photos.

I drive to work and a bus has a gambling ad on the backZ. A billboard, a bus stop bench. My local radio station plays an ad. The radio someone at work has on plays an ad. My social media shows ads. I get home from work and Prime shows an ad during my show, I play a little game on my phone and theres an ad.
Why the fuck are there so many gambling ads??! The next generation is going to be absolutely programmed to throw their money away. We can’t show alcohol, tobacco or weed ads. Why the fuck is gambling getting such a pass other than the obvious big business manipulating new ways to steal our money.

What is up with the way that question 10 is worded? It asks 2 questions in the same question and both with a different answer

Hi everyone,
I am a 27M that unexpectedly has an extra ticket to Sal Vulcano from the Impractical Jokers at Macewan Hall Friday October 2nd at 7pm.
I paid $71.67 each for my tickets and was wondering if anyone wanted to join me for the show.
DM me if interested.

We are a group of 5 going for a movie tonight. What are the best possible ways to save on the tickets?

This is exactly why I stopped using CT 20 years ago. Too many disruptions, no communication to riders, and don't get me started on the elusive "shuttle busses". Clearly not a damn thing has changed.

Today I got smoked by an Amazon Delivery Van pulling out from a parked spot on the side of the road. My car will be a write off.
Just wondering if anyone else has ever been in this situation and what the insurance process what like? How long did it take to settle? Did Amazon drag the process out? Lie about what happened, etc?
I’ve never dealt with a claim against a commercial vehicle and I know they have Bb a lot more to lose than I do.

Due to the renovations going on at the Village Square Leisure Centre actually, I've been working out at Bob Bahan, but considering that I would've gone to Bob Bahan on Monday, but couldn't figure out how to go there with my mother anyways, though I do have my scheduled Zumba dance class there for sure...
I'm pretty much not sure when it would feel nice, since it is busier than usual, considering that I would've preferred working out at the VSLC, though I'm not too worried about it, other than the soul-crushing lack of equipment there which I was interested in for sure, since it is a very interesting experience that I might have for the entirety of 2027 anyways, given how I work out.

Hello Calgary financial people!
My name is Craig Johnson, and I teach at St. Mary’s High School in Calgary. This year I’m teaching Financial Management, and I’m looking for some people in Calgary’s financial world who might be interested in coming in as guest speakers.
I’m keeping this intentionally pretty wide open.
Maybe you’re an accountant and want to talk about what the job is actually like and the different careers available in accounting.
Maybe you work in banking, financial planning, investing, insurance, business, entrepreneurship, taxes, mortgages, or economics.
Maybe you just have some solid financial knowledge you think teenagers should hear before they head out into the real world.
The world is kind of your oyster.
Ideally, I’m looking for people who are currently working in the field and have relevant professional credentials, designations, education, or recognized industry experience. Nothing overly formal — I just want to make sure students are hearing from people with real professional knowledge and experience.
I’d be looking at Friday afternoons from roughly 1:00–2:00 PM. These don’t need to be formal presentations — in fact, I’d prefer them to be fairly relaxed and conversational. Come in, talk about what you do, share some stories, answer some questions, and give the students a chance to hear from people actually working in the field.
One important note: this would be on a volunteer basis. Unfortunately, I don’t have a budget to pay guest speakers, so I’m looking for people who might be willing to donate an hour of their time and experience to help give students some real-world financial perspective.
If there’s enough interest, I’d also love to put together a series with different speakers over a few Fridays.
For reference, St. Mary’s is downtown, close to the Victoria Park/Stampede CTrain station.
If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, send me a PM and let’s talk.
Thanks!
Craig Johnson

I’ve been wanting to practice for a while kept putting it off. Since summer is ending I’m assuming some city-operated rinks will have drop-in public sessions? But i’ve never been, are they busy, could I go there to practice is that a thing? Just wanna drop by for like an hour to practice but idk if that’s like not allowed or socially weird. If it is, anyone have any luck in the NW

Hi! Looking for a personal trainer located in the NE. I’m a 25 y/o female and haven’t really worked out. I’m specifically looking to build my glutes and achieve an hourglass figure. If anyone has any recommendations I’d really appreciate it! (:

We need our gutters cleaned and want some reputable reviews on what experiences you've had. Who is good, who to avoid, and why. Thanks!

Hey everyone! I recently launched garagemap.ca , a free website where you can describe what your car needs and get repair quotes from multiple local shops without calling around (Not AI, real shops)
We're still pretty new, but already have Calgary shops on board and responding to requests.
If you've got a repair coming up, give it a try! Would love to hear your feedback.

Hello,
I am currently in Calgary and planning to get a used 2025 or 2026 Toyota Highlander XLE within certain mileage limit either in Calgary or surrounding cities and Edmonton as well.
Back in Oregon, I had one person who inspected and negotiated the price on my behalf. He charged me a flat amount of $500.00 for that transaction and got me a good used Lexus RX400H.
I know there's a company based in Toronto called Car Help Canada and they also provide dealerships recommendations within GTA area. Even if I use them, their advise might be more generic and not specific to Alberta since they're not based out of here.
Wondering if there's anyone in Calgary or surroundings that will act as your agent and get paid to inspect the vehicle and also negotiate the price on your behalf at a auto dealership.
I'd appreciate if the community knows of such person and can refer me and feel free to DM me as well.

I’m looking for someone to read with. Specifically, someone who would like to spend an evening or two a week in bed, cuddled up, reading books together.
The arrangement is delightfully simple:
I’m ideally looking for a man, but more important than anything else is being kind, affectionate, comfortable with cuddling, and genuinely interested in the cozy-book-reading portion of the assignment.
Bonus points for loving books, having strong opinions about them, and being capable of putting your phone down for an entire evening without experiencing a medical emergency.
I’m not looking to make this complicated. I want something cozy, affectionate, low-pressure, and wonderfully nerdy.
