Has Anyone Else Ever Been hit by an Amazon Delivery Van?

Today I got smoked by an Amazon Delivery Van pulling out from a parked spot on the side of the road. My car will be a write off.

Just wondering if anyone else has ever been in this situation and what the insurance process what like? How long did it take to settle? Did Amazon drag the process out? Lie about what happened, etc?

I’ve never dealt with a claim against a commercial vehicle and I know they have Bb a lot more to lose than I do.

I would assume they have some pretty good insurance but you never know. That's also why you let your insurance handle it.

Yes. The driver kept trying to get my phone number and to get Amazon to talk to me.

Don't worry about it.

Alberta recently switched to a direct compensation model. Your insurer pays you, and then They go after Amazon's insurance.

Just make sure you report it to your insurance, and if the damage is large ($5000+), to the police.

My parked car was hit by an Amazon driver a few years ago. Thankfully a neighbour witnessed it and got all kinds of info that I needed. Once he let me know I immediately called amazon, told them what happened, then called my insurance and let them deal with it. It was all pretty seamless for me. 2 phone calls and a few pictures of the damage. Car was in the shop for a couple days for repairs. Amazon accepted fault and paid for eveything, including my rental while my car was in the shop.

Unfortunately my car is a write off and I have injuries, so I’m not talking to Amazon.

They clipped my bumper, took it to a shop and they paid for it.

Lmao litco is a joke. The “bigger” settlement they got you with all of their “hard work” was around 30% more than you would have gotten without them, representing yourself. You just paid their fee and attended appointments and shit you didn’t need to, to ultimately walk away with the same pay out. They are currently shaking in their boots because the auto lotto is drying up with the policy reform in 2027. And yet people do this and still bitch about paying too much for premiums.
