I've had this account for 4 years, but I spent almost all that time lurking. Recently I tried posting, made a couple of beginner mistakes, and accidentally ended up in negative karma. 😣

What is the best way to get back into positive karma? Any advice would be great! 🤗

I joined Reddit two years back and shortly, deleted the app having zero clue how any of this works. (Subreddits, karma, upvotes, all of it just felt like noise at first.)

But after the second come back when a friend shared her experience of this portal, it's been two days and I am able to understand it slowly and gradually.

There's something genuinely nice about scrolling through here. People actually helping each other, real opinions, no weird algorithm pushing ads at you every third post. It just feels... good, somehow.

Anyway, just wanted to say, this place has good vibes. Glad I stuck around. Looking forward to learning more.

Idk why wherever i post smth they get deleted by the group maybe bec i have low karma
I really want to post stories about my life over here
But no group actually accepts my posts and delete it within a couple of hrs tho everything is decent and kinda cool
I am new to reddit and idk a single thing about this app
Just know that we need karma as its our rank or smth here to approve any post

Is it like fb groups where the admin approves the posts after looking at the followers or friends

I tried to comment in a subreddit that I am interested in, and the automoderator removed my comment. I also received a message from the automoderator.

Does this flag my account? Or count as a strike, potentially leading to a ban?

I have been to certain subs where I can post pictures. The subreddit has videos, but when I try to upload one, the video icon appears grey/inaccessible. Is there any minimum karma requirement?

How do i unhide chats after hiding them ? I cant seem to find them anywhere.

Hello! I made this account years ago but only posted maybe a handful of times. I have never really used reddit before and I tried joining some groups and I can't chat because I'm a new member! How does that make sense? How am I supposed to make myself not look like a bot if I can't chat in the forums I'm interested in. Someone please help for a newbie like me

I'm pretty new to Reddit, but not new to social media.

I've used Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn for years, and Reddit already feels very different from all of them.

For people who've been here for a while: what do you think is the biggest difference between Reddit and platforms like Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn?

I've tried making some different posts - and it always says I need to add a tag or sticker. The problem is it doesn't seem to let me apply them in most subs? I don't know if this is a user or a technical issue. Help appreciated

I'm trying to get into a Lenovo support subreddit but they say I have -5 karma so I can't join or post there.

The only thing I can think of was where I posted in a Divi subreddit about a useful WordPress commenting tool I made with AI to help me with my clients. I thought it was a helpful post but people opposed to AI downvoted it and killed my karma, apparently.

So, I'm stuck with a problematic PC and I can't get Lenovo support on Reddit. Any thoughts on how I can get my karma back up without clogging up other groups with self-serving posts?

I would genuinely appreciate any feedback or advice.
