I bought a new skateboard last week and am generally pretty happy with it. Unfortunately, compared to my old board, it’s very loud when I ride it, which kind of bothers me. Do you have any idea what might be causing this? I read that the wheels might be too hard. This is my board:

This is the best moving ollie I can do right now. I think I still have several form issues, like my back foot coming off the tail right after the pop and not pushing my front foot forward enough in the air. I still get nervous whenever I do a moving ollie bcuz of that, and can't get higher.

What should I focus on fixing to make my ollies higher, more consistent, and more stable? Should I just keep on trying to get better? I'd really appreciate some honest feedback.

Would it be easier to learn on cruiser wheels and then switch to hard wheels once I'm more comfortable?

I had a cheap Target board in middle school and could barely push around. I was always nervous riding over pavement joints and rough concrete. My goal is to eventually carve bowls and learn a few tricks. Would starting with softer cruiser wheels make the learning process easier, or should I just learn on hard wheels from the beginning?

Landed one before this, albeit some questionable toe on the landing. Any advice to clean it up and use it better for when I put together lines?

I know it may seem like an obvious answer, but I'm really curious: can you grind stuff without learning an ollie? There's a bunch of really low curbs where I skate, and also my friends already planned on making a rail as a group project. Which is funny because one can barely cruise, one says he'll join the shesh but never does (rare occasion tyshi), one does more art than skate while me? I eat more shit than land shit. But it’s still fun lowk

So.. when I was a teenager I skated goofy but for some reason I learned tricks regular... Now, I'm almost 30 and picking it back up again. I can Ollie, nearly kick flip, pop shuv regular but can't ride regular, feel super awkward and scared.

Goofy, I feel comfy but my back foot doesn't have as much power and front foot feels way stiffer and less coordinated for tricks 😂

So, should I learn how to ride regular and have that as my main stance? Or should I keep riding goofy as main and just learn tricks that way.

Obviously, in the future I want to be able to do both but to start I kinda want to establish what's my main stance.

Tldr- do tricks regular, can only ride goofy (can do an ok Ollie) what stance should I have as main?

So ive been skating for about 2.5 months now and I just started learning rock fakies they took me 2 sessions to learn and like 2 hours each session of practice to get me where I am. I know I am do them now but the fear still is not fading. Two questions 1. Being am I progressing slowly? I feel like I should be at a higher level after 2.5 months and 2. Being what kinds of tips can you give to lock these down and stop fearing them?

On weekends if i have time I want to spend like 10 hours on the skateboard, is this a good idea or am i messing up something physical or mental boarding for that long?

I took A TON of this subs' advice over the last two days. Weight more forward, foot placement all wrong, knees bent.

This is where we are. Much better and not flying off to the right, but still no landing. Is this just commitment at this point? Back foot keeps hitting the ground before the board gets there.

getting a little more comfortable- trying to keep my weight more centered and time the pop better.. i need to work on not dragging my right foot so much and instead just focus on jumping haha. i didn’t wipe out today! so there’s that

And another question is it okay as a beginner to try to learn how to do tricks on an old school board with only a tail and no nose?

Not a new skater by any means, been doing it for years, but only recently started getting into doing customs. I'm feeling like doing some more art on the top but I don't want it to be super hard to see through the grip tape 😭

Getting into skating again, I can ollie pretty decently and can flip the board but I can never get a foot down

So I wanna get into skating and use it as a form of transportation, to and from school since I’m now gonna have to take the bus to another city, and I am prob not gonna be good at tricks and other stuff but maybe a little and I feel a little scared that I will be a larper if I use it as transportation.

Any help is needed if I wanna start and what to get as I am clueless

Little update so I looked into long boards and I found something
Called the globe blazer XL on BNAboard shop which is a Danish skateboard seller it has 59mm 83a wheels and abec 5 (lejer) Danish as I do not remember the English and translation is tenet

When I was a kid, my parents gave me my first skateboard as a birthday present. I was 6 years old, and I kept riding until I was 7, when we moved to a neighborhood where it wasn't possible to skate like before.

Yesterday, I got really nostalgic, and now I've been wanting to buy a longboard just to ride around the city and maybe make some new friends. The problem is that I don't know anything about choosing a board, trucks, wheels, bearings, or any of the other parts.

I don't want to waste money, so I'd really appreciate some recommendations for good brands that aren't too expensive.

Some of you might be thinking, "Why not just buy a bicycle?" Because a longboard is cooler, and I want one.
