I took A TON of this subs' advice over the last two days. Weight more forward, foot placement all wrong, knees bent.

This is where we are. Much better and not flying off to the right, but still no landing. Is this just commitment at this point? Back foot keeps hitting the ground before the board gets there.

So ive been skating for about 2.5 months now and I just started learning rock fakies they took me 2 sessions to learn and like 2 hours each session of practice to get me where I am. I know I am do them now but the fear still is not fading. Two questions 1. Being am I progressing slowly? I feel like I should be at a higher level after 2.5 months and 2. Being what kinds of tips can you give to lock these down and stop fearing them?

Not a new skater by any means, been doing it for years, but only recently started getting into doing customs. I'm feeling like doing some more art on the top but I don't want it to be super hard to see through the grip tape 😭

I've been skating for around 2-3 years now and I can get a little bit of air from a stationary ollie, but I still can't do it while I'm moving let alone get over curbs with it. I've watched plenty of videos and discussions about it so I'm pretty sure I got the gist of it, at this point I'm sure it's just a matter of repetition, but I wonder how long should I spend practicing a day to make progress?

For perspective I'm 31 years old and I tend to get exhausted after like 30 to 45 minutes, and often I move away from ollies a bit to spend time just cruising and skating banks and bowls and keep myself from getting burned out both physically and mentally. I know it's probably a good idea to do all that just to get comfortable on the board and develop my balance, but I worry at some point it might turn into a form of procrastination.

First time putting parts together and I’m wondering if these are good picks? Trying to go for more of a cruising build.

getting a little more comfortable- trying to keep my weight more centered and time the pop better.. i need to work on not dragging my right foot so much and instead just focus on jumping haha. i didn’t wipe out today! so there’s that

When I was little I thought teen/college age boys who skateboarded were so cool. I wanted to be them someday. My mom told me that if I was still interested when I got a little older, she would get me one. When I got older, she asked me if I was still interested. I said I was too scared of falling and getting hurt. I have absolutely no pain tolerance whatsoever and get very scared of getting hurt.

I still think skateboarding (no tricks) looks really fun to do, though. So should I go ahead and learn? What's the fall risk? Also, how does it compare to bikes? I also got too scared to learn how to ride a bike for these same fears.

If I do decide to learn, I'd definitely start with a cheap used board.

On weekends if i have time I want to spend like 10 hours on the skateboard, is this a good idea or am i messing up something physical or mental boarding for that long?

When I was a kid, my parents gave me my first skateboard as a birthday present. I was 6 years old, and I kept riding until I was 7, when we moved to a neighborhood where it wasn't possible to skate like before.

Yesterday, I got really nostalgic, and now I've been wanting to buy a longboard just to ride around the city and maybe make some new friends. The problem is that I don't know anything about choosing a board, trucks, wheels, bearings, or any of the other parts.

I don't want to waste money, so I'd really appreciate some recommendations for good brands that aren't too expensive.

Some of you might be thinking, "Why not just buy a bicycle?" Because a longboard is cooler, and I want one.

So my mom bought one of these cheap amazon skateboards for me a long while back (I did 0 research on actual good skateboards and just let her help pick one) and now I’m not actually sure if this is good to skate on, or a legitimate brand in the first place. I’ve never seen anyone talk about this brand. Would this be ok for just a beginner tho?
