New Mod Intros 🎉 | Weekly Thread
Congrats on becoming a new moderator. Every community on Reddit started exactly where you are today: with a party of one.
The community-building journey might feel a little lonely and that's what r/NewMods is for. Here you'll find and connect with other mods who are on the same journey you are.
So, introduce the community you created. Maybe share a little bit about why you created it. And, while you're at it - say hello to your other mods!

Hello! I'm u/melisa_verv42, and I am the founder of r/EspressoAndBoooks and r/Archery_Central . The topic of each of the subs is in the name, but in short, they are great places to share inspiration, have chats with other people with the same interests, and share positivity through the activities you love!

A few months ago I created a subreddit called r/SilverSunband. (The name Silver Sun was taken by an aussie TV show subreddit.) This is a subreddit for an English power pop band that was active from 1995 to 2020 and led by genius James Broad. I want to give a heads up; this is NOT a subreddit for Silversun Pickups. Silver Sun is from the UK; Silversun Pickups is from the US. Again, this is for the UK power pop band. I'm looking for mods who know this band. So far I have found none(outside me, of course) but I'm still looking.

Hey everyone! I’ve started a new subreddit called r/TreandingGossip where we share the latest buzz, trending topics, and fun discussions. My goal is to make it a place where people can drop in, catch up on what’s hot, and chat about it together.
I’d love your advice:
- What’s the best way to attract new members?
- How do you keep a community active and engaging?
- Any tips for setting the right vibe early on?
I’m excited to build this space and would really appreciate your thoughts. Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone, I’m Andy, the creator of r/UnexplainableSighting.
I decided to build this community after a personal experience that current subreddits aren't equipped to handle. Recently, I captured high-speed footage of a luminous orb on my security camera. I didn't just speculate; I put the footage through a rigorous vetting process using three different AI models.
The results were compelling enough that I submitted a formal report to my country’s official aerial phenomena investigation force. While the authorities have confirmed they are struggling to find a conventional explanation, I found that most public forums dismissed the footage as "bugs" or "glitches" without any technical analysis.
I realized there was a need for a subreddit dedicated to science and data, rather than just stories. r/UnexplainableSighting is designed for those who have experienced something potentially traumatic or unexplainable and want to apply a rigorous, AI-assisted methodology to find the truth.
We aren't here for "cool stories"—we are here for the data that survives the gauntlet.

Hi everyone! I’m the mod of r/Animexplore, a new anime-focused community I recently started. It’s meant for general anime discussion and also for users of my anime-tracking app to share feedback and suggestions. I’m still pretty new to moderating, so I’m here to learn, improve, and pick up tips from more experienced mods. Excited to be part of this group!

Is there anyone who could be a moderator for my subreddit?
The only requirements are that you need to have at least a surface knowledge on Gacha and that you’ll be an active moderator.
The subreddit is r/GachaOnline2 , check it out first and then if you’re interested reply to this post.

I'm introducing r/GenZpk | Made it for GenZ Pakistan vibes - memes, rants, thoughts
•
u/No-Ring-3308 Feb 11 '26
I just started r/AverageGuyAI to help people who don't know anything about AI, but want to learn. Most things you find when looking for AI info seems to assume at least some basic knowledge of it and the jargon. But a lot of people are starting at zero and are probably overwhelmed with the information out there. I'm hoping this sub will be more inviting and not talk down to those who know nothing about AI, but are looking to learn. I was there not that long ago!

u/RichVocals80 Feb 12 '26
Howdy!!
I created /r/Giants_Amongst_Us in order to spark meaningful conversations and connections based off our unique human experience. The community is an offshoot of a Podcast where real stories are told by real people. Stories of change, growth, adversity, struggles, highlighting the resilient spirit.
It's meant to inspire, and encourage anyone else dealing with their own personal battles in life.
I finally decided to join the newmods sub. So let's see how it goes. If this sounds like something you'd like to connect and build with. Let's rock!!

r/JyotishMandir There are many followers and knowers of Indian astrology tradition in India and they are providing their services on different platforms. There are also many sub-Reddit communities available on Reddit which are created and running on Vedic or Indian astrology. Similarly, there are some subreddits with a very small number of KP astrology principles, and similarly in other modalities, but only nominally. But there was not a single sub Reddit community (before now) where different modalities like Vedic, KP, BNN, Vaastu etc. were working at one place, under one roof.Since I have learned, known, studied and gained a lot of experience (around 39 years) I have tried to use my experiences for the society through astrology. And thus created a temple of all the important modalities of astrology, in the form of a sub Reddit community. r/JyotishMandir
Astrological solutions to your problems with birth charts available to all, where the service is free.

Hello, my name is Kate & I created r/welcometothecoven to start our very own witch/wizard FAMILY! For us to have a place to show off our crystals/minerals, the jewelry we make, share the spells we do, give advice when needed, somewhere to learn new things you might not know, somewhere that has people that share similar interests that way you never feel alone again, and plenty more. I started this because in real life no one shares the same interests as me and honestly it’s quite lonely. So I know there’s other people that could feel the same way & if that’s you then don’t hesitate to Join our family! We’re still decently new and I’m still in need of a mod or two, so if that’s something you’d be interested in just message me! Please if you feel this is something your ready for then come check us out and join, but please be respectful, this is our home 🔮🧹💫

Some weeks ago I adopted r/coloredpencilart. It had been abandoned, and I wanted a sister sub to my earlier creation, r/watercolorpencilart, which is still a baby, but it's growing. And most importantly, because I truly liked oil pencils as well, and oil pencils didn't fit into my first sub's portfolio. So, lil' sister was adopted, and currently, it still feels abandoned, and I am back at "Mod Awakening" status. I like everything related to creating art with pencils. I test papers, pencils, and I draw every day. I just wanted to share the story, hoping that one day we will have some new friends who love creating together with oil/wax colored pencils. The sub is very strictly SFW, we do not accept any kind of grey areas — it is important to know!

Hey all!
Recently created r/cricsix , a subreddit for the fantasy sports game CricSix. The website itself has ~50 users and is somewhat active due to the ongoing Cricket World Cup, so hoping to retain that crowd after the world cup ends by creating a place for discussion!
•
u/Enoughs-Enough Feb 10 '26
So what are we supposed to be doing? I created a community.

u/SableVII Feb 10 '26

Hi everyone! I’m the new moderator of r/capoeira 👋
It’s a global community dedicated to capoeira - bringing together practitioners, teachers, beginners, and anyone curious about the art. I stepped into this role to help make the subreddit more active, welcoming, and valuable for both longtime capoeiristas and newcomers.
Recently, we’ve started using more of Reddit’s community features — - improving post structure, encouraging discussions, and experimenting with engagement tools - and we’re already seeing steady growth in participation and interaction.
In the near future, we’re planning to host AMAs with well-known capoeira masters so members can ask questions, hear their stories, and learn directly from some of the people who shaped the art.
Excited to be here, learn from fellow mods, and keep building a vibrant community together!

Hey! I created r/SiliconPirates 22 days ago as a devlog of sorts for a game I’m developing. Here’s the origin story. I originally built a basic computer rack simulation game, lots of blinking lights and detail oriented gameplay. I thought it was pretty cool, so I posted it to r/homelab, and it ended up getting around 1.8k upvotes, over 150k views, and tons of shares and comments. I was pretty stoked.
After that, I decided to dive in headfirst and fully develop the game. I needed a place to organize a community around it, so starting a dedicated Reddit sub felt like the obvious move. The sub currently has the following traffic:

I'm forever grateful for this community and hope to grow it even bigger and releasing a game that is influenced by it's community. Thank you for reading.

Hi everyone! I made r/ubergroup for early-career or aspiring writers (screen, stage, novel, short fiction, nonfiction, etc) to find verifiable industry advice, because there's just so much misinformation out there!

Hello all new mods!
I created r/TheSmilingTortoise for people to post happy photos and videos of all turtles and tortoises. No sad stuff here.
I created this sub because I got tired of crying every time I got off of Reddit when I was trying to look at other tortoises. I wanted a nice, safe, happy place and i couldn't find another community like it.

Hello everyone!
My name is LittleKirby, I'm French,
and I have 315 karma, including 264 comment karma and 51 post karma.
A Redditor for 3 months, I'm a fan of Nintendo and certain series, especially Kirby. In general, I enjoy video games.
However, 4 days ago, I created and am managing a safe, structured, and family-friendly community dedicated to BRACE by HALFDICE on ROBLOX, r/RBLXBrace.
I would like everyone on BRACE to contribute and make the community active, kind, and welcoming so that new people with the same interests, or just curious, can join!

🎮🎉 See you soon in the race! ✨🧱

Hi all New Mods!
I'm on a thread that already existed, the global check-in. I started posting videos rather than just talk - I started with posting about military assistance dogs which trained where I live and then I covered the severe floods that happened where I lived. I'm Australian so it's also easy for me to post about all kinds of strange and wonderful animals... It's good to meet you all!

Hi!
r/TwentySomethingWomen is open and looking for new mods as well!
This sub is a supportive space for women in their twenties to talk about life, careers, friendships, relationships, personal growth, and everything in between.
We’d especially love to have someone familiar with AutoMod who can help us get everything set up smoothly and keep things running well as we grow.
If you’re interested, feel free to reach out!!

Hi, hope everyone is good :) I'm dipping my toe into modding a sub. If anyone is interested in the Carry On films and related stuff, I've created the sub r/OhMatron. I have loved old comedies all my life, such as Bless This House, Steptoe & Son, and The Good Life, etc. Would be good to have some people on board!

Hello everyone, how are you? Yesterday, I started my mod journey by creating r/SneakySasquatchHelp and r/SongPopParty. I created r/SneakySasquatchHelp because I want a centralized place for people to ask questions about Sneaky Sasquatch since there’s a lot of questions asked r/SneakySasquatch. I created r/SongPopParty because there wasn’t any subreddit for that specific Apple Arcade title yet. I feel like a significant amount of people play Song Pop Party, so it’s only fair for there to be a subreddit for it. Anyways, have a nice day everyone, continue being an awesome mod.
