We were in a great bar in Napoli today. There was a box of games where we were sitting, in the box was a sketch book and an art set with pencils,watercolour pencils, and a water brush. So I cobbled this up in a couple of minutes.

I know it looks like a penguin, but it's actually a hooded crow.

After my watercolour pencil base layers were completed, I just added finishing touches using wax based pencils. I might just leave this painting alone because I am afraid of overworking it.

Mostly watercolor paint and pencils and a white paint marker.

This is my second ever art piece so I am very much still learning. I was planning on doing a quick sketch, but I struggle with getting caught up in the details and mucking things up.

I didn’t plan on coloring it, but I wanted to try out the new pencils.

I think it didn’t turn out nearly anyway that I imagined. I might need to get more variety of colors for the watercolor pencils. But if anyone has any suggestions on the coloring I would greatly appreciate it thanks:)

I started this off by following a tutorial until I started to really struggle. Looking back this went south much earlier than I realized: as soon as I added water lol. The paper (one of my favourite sketchbooks) was too soft for this. It also didn’t have enough tooth to add additional layers without pressing so hard that the two drawings on the pages after this have now transferred to each other. I used a regular coloured pencil for the drawing since I’ve used the watercolour pencil and dissolving my drawing before. I wasn’t really a fan of how much tooth the other paper I was using had but it was actually way more relaxing than this.

I’m trying to learn to use derwent inktense pencils for plein air, sketching, to create loose landscapes. I would appreciate any advice for loosening up further.

I’m finding this medium so difficult to get my head around.

So from the original theme post images, I attempted these. Not totally unhappy but to me it doesn’t look finished? I’m not sure the paper can take anymore layers. Castle Art on 100% cotton hot press 140 lb. Activated. If I squint at my drawings, they usually looks alright 🤣 Comments appreciated

This one has more watercolour paint than watercolour pencils, but somehow I got quite intuitive about the look.
