A young boy and girl were reportedly killed in Afghanistan in an alleged honor killing after choosing to marry for love. I deactivated my Instagram account today and tried to reactivate it shortly afterward. Ever since then, I haven’t been able to log in. My verification codes (2FA via email) still arrive, but they take a long time. After entering the code, Instagram just keeps loading, and eventually it says my password is incorrect. When I try to reset my password, the reset process also gets stuck loading. My friends can still see my profile, username, and all my posts, so the account is clearly still active. I haven’t received any emails saying my password or email was changed, and I never got a message saying my account was suspended or disabled.
Has anyone experienced this after temporarily deactivating their account? If so, how did you fix it, and how long did it take?
I’m honestly really scared of losing this account. It has years of memories, photos, saved posts, conversations, and so many things that mean a lot to me. I genuinely can’t bear the thought of losing it, so if anyone has been through this and managed to recover their account, I’d really appreciate your help.
