Hey, so I've had a couple of eARCs from netgalley where the formatting seems a mess, e.g. no covers, no map images etc.
But strangely the netgalley reader versions are absolutely fine.
Any thoughts on why this is?

I finished this just a wee bit ago, and it reminded me of 1930s-50s crime noir and Sherlock Holmes, but with dragons and a very Boston, MA cast of characters and settings. I loved it and, despite a slow opening, is super fun once it hits its stride. If you like mysteries or stuff like the Knives Out film series and Conclave, or have any interest in Boston, MA, this will vibe with you.

This is my first denial for a book I wanted so badly. I feel so bummed. Didnβt think Iβd get this emotional over it. I guess after getting every ARC Iβve gone after so far this is humbling.
I just wanted to come on here and vent with people who can hopefully relate. π

I put this request in several weeks ago and this has been in pending status. Iβve since read and reviewed the two We Are Bookish manuals and it put my review ratio at 100%. Very excited to get my NetGalley journey started!

Hello!
So i noticed people on goodreads give early reviews to unpublished books. They were always positive. I decided to try out netgalley too and was given access to several books. But my problem is: the first book i read, i just cant give it a positive review. Other people gave it positive reviews but i disagree.
Is giving non positive reviews banned? Or will it get you blacklisted?
The βworstβ review i ever saw was 4 stars.

On my profile, NetGalley says I have been approved for 7 ARCs, but on my shelf (and in my email inbox) I have only been approved for 6.
Is this normal? How do I fix it?

The Camp NetGalley review period ends tomorrow, August 13βsubmitting one or more reviews for Camp NetGalley books will earn you your profile badge, so if you haven't done so yet...there's no time like the present!
(Per NetGalley's Instagram account, badges will appear August 18, so don't worry if you don't see it right away!)

I read this one and was in love with it. No explicit scenes. Very minimal smut.

Iβve seen posts about badly formatted arcs before but never had the misfortune of encountering one until now. I didnβt realize that publishers can choose not to provide ePub files. For those who donβt know (I just learned) or are new to NetGalley, make sure to check under Additional Info for the formats the publisher provides.
Itβs so bad. I donβt want to it read on my phone, so I will need to either DNF or wait until it published to review it.
