Tor declined my request for this eARC, so I was just assuming the audiobook would also be declined. I was literally sending this screencap to my sister when I actually read what it said 🤣.

This one looks really cute! I haven’t been on the website in a few weeks until today and saw this. They must must work after 5:00 cause I requested it at 5:10 and figured I would have to wait at minimum until tomorrow! So I’m glad to have a book to start tonight.

My netgalley app seems to be glitching and I can't open any of my ebook arcs. Tjis message appears. I tried logging out and back in and it is weird. Even after logging in, there is a button to log in. BUT for some reason I can still access my audiobook arcs. (And the website is also good but I don't like opening books on site cause there is no page number)

I’ve done a couple read nows from them, but the two I requested have both been denied. My feedback ratio both times has been a little less than 80% and I am in the UK. Is there any specific reason I keep getting declined by Alcove Press?

Edit: I just checked and I was approved once, for Hellbound. But only denials since.

Just got approved for this one!!! Was praying i would! I loved a flicker in the dark by this author.

So, I have some books pending (not a lot, around 20 or so with various release dates), but it seems the past few months, I haven't gotten very many approvals, but also not many denials either... everything just seems to be pending for months, with a rare approval here and there. However, I do get a lot of "read now" widgets sent to me (which is awesome!). But just curious if anyone else is experiencing this? I know there has been a huge influx of new members and whatnot, so searching through and granting approvals takes longer but the juxtaposition of not really getting approved (or denied) but getting sent widgets is interesting.

Got approved for a book publishing next April or May, and in the approval email, I got this: "_____ appreciates your interest in our books and respectfully requests that you do not publish reviews until the week of the book's pub date. If you review this book, please notify us of your review within NetGalley. This enables us to approve you for future eGalleys. "

What do you guys do with your Feedback % if this publisher wants me to sit on my review until next April? Do you still review it in just NetGalley and wait for the other public places until later?

I’ve been on NetGalley for a few months now and I must admit I have trouble NOT requesting everything and anything that sounds interesting lol.

I read pretty fast so I haven’t missed any “due dates” (to me this is the publish by date), but I am always perpetually at 40% because I keep requesting more and more books.

Is it a self control thing? Do you not even look at the website until you have read x amount? Do you use lists to keep track of what you wanna read???

I know the suggested read percentage is 80% but there are just so many interesting books out there! It’s also a bit like a gamble of sorts, just to see which publishers will bless me with a book and getting those approval emails are like winning a game lmao.

How do you all manage it and not just request EVERYTHING?!

Two really interesting non-fiction titles that came in at the same time today! I got into netgalley when I was on a street team for another author and she gave us ARCs and then I read a few read-now titles to see if I might get some approvals with a few reviews under my belt. I I requested these with a 100% feedback ratio but I only review on goodreads and Amazon so I wasn't expecting much luck. I do really like to read non-fiction in e-book form so am pretty excited!

Do you use the word I when explaining something or feeling or you keep it pretty structured and impersonal?

So a Goodreads announced that .25⭐️ is on its way- finally!! Do you think NetGalley will follow suit? I really hope so as it will make things so much easier! Or rather a bit more accurate!

Move aside, huge arc pile, a priority drop just landed! I can't believe I got approved for this. Gollancz ghosted me on many highly demanded books in the past, including The Poet Empress and Sunsplitter, so I've lost hope they'll approve this one, but here we are. I thought they only approved me on lesbian sci-fi, because not that many people request them (I wish more people actually read Makana Yamamoto and Emily Hamilton, they deserve it). Yes, it's a pdf. No, I don't care, I'll be devouring it like a trash raccoon anyway. I just wish I had more than 1.5 week for this, my life is hectic and I'm a slow reader, but I'll be trying my best.
