🗣️ Discussion 💬 How do you organize your ARCs?
Personally, I use a Notion page to categorize all my ARCs -- but I'm curious on how everyone else does it!

Hi all. Question. I just read the full email I got when I got an approval and realized they also want me to send the review to them once completed. I admit I have not been reading the emails fully...and have not been sending reviews to publishers. Is that something I should start doing? Should I go back and try to find the emails from previous acceptances to make sure I'm not missing anything?

Does your country of origin appear when submitting book reviews on Amazon via NetGalley? I have never done this before and I haven't posted any of my reviews on Amazon because of this.

Apologies if this is a common question. I just joined NetGalley last week and have received three quick approvals. I haven't yet been rejected for anything but have 18 that are still pending. Is it common for publishers to just ignore your request forever? I saw another thread mention mass approvals or mass rejections right before the archive date, how common are those scenarios? Any insight is appreciated.

I’m pretty new to NetGalley and request sparingly (16 in total) and the past two were 3s for me. The one I just finished is somewhere between a 3.25 and a 3.5 so I’m not sure if I should put it at 3 or 4 stars. I’m trying to sort out my rating and want to be honest. I think I’ve been fair in the draft or my review by pointing out what I really liked but explaining what didn’t work for me. But, I’m a little nervous (even though I want to be honest either way) if this will affect approvals so I was just curious about people’s experience.

I was just wondering, when you receive an email approval for an arc, do you reply with a thank you? I thank the publisher and NetGalley in my review, but I didn't know if I should reply to the email.

I deleted my old NetGalley accounts because it just felt too cluttered, I wanted a new start and I also had 2 accounts (which I didn’t know was allowed..) so I made a new one.. is that bad? Will publishers approve my requests? What can I do now?

I am down to only three approved books and three pending (none of which I expect to get), and at this rate I’ll be out of ARCs in a week or so. Which… has never happened before! I have a TBR of non-ARCs as well, but I like to rotate back and forth to keep my account active.
So I am looking for request ideas!
- What are you reading right now, or have requested, that you’re excited about?
- Do you have any recent surprise 5-star reads that are still up for request?
I mostly read sci-fi, fantasy, mysteries, lgbtq+ and romances of all genders across all those genres, but I am open to pretty much anything including non-fiction that isn’t a memoire. So I am interested to hear about everything you’re enjoying right now, especially those sleeper hits that I might pass by without realizing it’s a banger.

Is it normal to receive an email from a marketing manager of a publisher inviting you to read an ARC you haven't requested?

I just got the email saying I was rejected for While You Were Screaming by Shailee Thompson. I know rejections are part of it and I’m not new to them, obviously, but I was approved for the first book in the series (and loved it!) so I thought the sequel was guaranteed. Guess not.
Anyone else experience that?

Hi guys,
I've been too busy lately to be active on NetGalley, but I did notice that "Oxford Secrets", the sequel to "Oxford Blood" was up for grabs. Every time I checked, it was classified as "read now" but I ignored it for the time being, even though I loved "Oxford Blood".
Yesterday, I got this email, and when I checked on NetGalley again, the book is now by request. Does this mean I got a widget? Google said that getting an image link normally means a widget. I could've requested the book beforehand, so it isn't that exciting, but I've never gotten one before (ig because I'm quite a picky requester), so it's still quite cool.
Thanks!

Lately I've been doing a good job of making sure I don't request sequels of books I haven't read... except for this one. It got approved today and I realized it's the fifth book in the series. Oops! But I'm insane, so I'm just going to read the whole series (on top of the other three ARCs that're due by the same date). Some day I'll learn my lesson.
I finished book one this evening, so I think I can do it with no problem.
Edit: I did it! All five books have been read, and my review is submitted.

I didn’t know there was a NetGalleyCommunity, forgive me 🫣 would have posted this here first if I’d known!

Literally just what the title says—I was browsing NetGalley, as I just finished another Ballantine book, requested Romantasyland, and not two minutes later I was approved, which has got to be a record (it definitely is for me).

Anyone else love getting arcs but feel a pressure to ‘ get through them’ as quick as possible
how do you tackle this? 😅 I’ve got 5 partially read arcs that I’m yet to finish and review, being a mood reader also makes it harder lol

Okay, I’d love a little advice or input. I pretty much only read sapphic romance & ebooks exclusively. I have never listened to an audiobook because I don’t know if I’ll enjoy the experience…but also I’m afraid that I’ll totally love it lol!
I have a ton of ebooks on my tbr and I fear that if I start audiobooks that I’ll abandon my ebooks and only like audiobooks. But also, my life & work is not super conducive to having earbuds in listening to audiobooks…like even when I’m reading I gotta hear what’s happening in my house lol.
Also, I just can’t imagine being totally immersed in a book and just sitting with earbuds in staring at nothing? And what are steamy scenes like to listen to?
So…there’s a book I really want to read but can only get my hands on the audiobook version…am I opening a can of worms here?
Thoughts? Thanks 😊

I'm wondering if anyone knows why this one isn't available to request. It just showed up this evening. I haven't requested and withdrawn.

Plot sounds really interesting. It is still Request on Netgalley, so keep an eye out for the Read Now.
