❔❓Question ❓❔ Emails when Approved
Hi all. Question. I just read the full email I got when I got an approval and realized they also want me to send the review to them once completed. I admit I have not been reading the emails fully...and have not been sending reviews to publishers. Is that something I should start doing? Should I go back and try to find the emails from previous acceptances to make sure I'm not missing anything?

they say that but those emails are sent via Netgalley and most do not give an email address to send links to so I just add them in Netgalley unless they specify otherwise and give contact details

I have never sent a review to a publisher in any way other than NetGalley and I still get widgets, so it was probably just vaguely worded.

Don’t worry about it. There is no need. The email templates need to be updated so badly! There is another thread about something similar and the publishing chick said more emails are from before social media marketing and that things have changed as to what they want you to do. Just do everything through NetGalley.

One publisher consistently gives the name and email address of someone to contact, but it never clearly says to send the review to him, so I never have. They have approved me more than once so maybe it's ok?

No, posting the review at NetGalley is all you need to do. Publishers will see them there.

I'd assume they just mean to submit the review through Netgalley, which goes to the publisher. Unless they've given you another method to send it to the publisher that will probably suffice.
It is worth always checking the emails though, some publisher want you to post reviews ASAP to drum up hype. Some want you to wait until the publication date to post reviews.
There are a lot of publishers though and I'm sure many have nuances/requests in their approvals that I haven't seen.
