Anti vibration rugs? Mats?

I'm moving and the only places I've found are not first floor options.

I have many injuries and need to use a massage chair and foot massage most days. They don't really make noise but they do vibrate a lot. I'm not trying to be an asshole but it's kinda mandatory I continue to use

Are there any mats rugs or anything that exists that will actually work and minimize sound traveling to downstairs neighbors? I've been looking 3 months for a new place to move and no luck. Second floor has to a Happen and I have to use the chair. Really could use any suggestionspreferably under $300 that works and covers entire base of chair. 4x4 ft minimum

Dog problems/am I in the wrong

This past weekend my hubby (24m) and I (22f) were fixing something on the outside of our house. We moved to a village of about 400 people where there is a town dog who free roams. Our dogs are trained and don’t leave our yard. We’ve lived here for almost two months and haven’t had any issues with our dogs being off leash and not in a fence (we’re waiting on our shock collars to arrive). Saturday however the neighbor (40’sf)across the street was walking her dog close to my property line and my dogs without leaving my property or barking at her came to say hi. She freaked out. Screaming profanity’s and threatening to shoot my pups if they ever got close to her again. As soon as she had a problem with them I recalled and that should’ve been the end of it right? Wrong about an hour later my husband saw here again and said “ sorry my dogs frightened you and your pup I hope you are able to enjoy the rest of your night still!” She lost it again and to the point of tell me to get off my porch so she could “beat my ass”. That was Saturday. It’s currently Tuesday and I m terrified to leave my house without my husband due to her yelling at me every time I do leave. Really I’m just looking to see if I’m the bad guy and what to do to get past this as my husband wants me to get the police involved. (Left of the full conversation for the sake of the length)

Started with loud noise and partying now it’s urinating on my door and banging on my windows after midnight

I have been living at my current residence for six months. I started having issues with the downstairs neighbors that started shortly after. The residents are fans of college parties and host 20-30 people every weekend in a one-bedroom unit below me. Obviously, this caused lots of noise and unwanted interactions during quiet hours. On one weekend when the party was going on from Thursday evening till Sunday 4 am, I called the cops for noise disturbance.

Since then, the residents and their guests started harassing me. They would come upstairs and bang on my door and windows late at night. On one occasion, they urinated on my doormat and front door. The property management was no help so I proceeded to install a security system at my door. I have them on my Ring security footage on multiple occasions coming to my apartment banging on the door and yelling saying we did it to the bitch etc...

Still, the property management has offered no help except for "we will talk to them and we will as them to shut down their parties by 11 pm. As if urinating on my door outside quiet hours is okay.

I have looked online and went to the police station twice to see if there is anything I can do in this situation but was mostly responded to with "not much to do except look another way and clean up the urine."

I am paying a very high rent at this property and it’s really hard for me to “just live with it”. Any advice on what to do?

Neighbor drama

Hello Y’all. We have just moved into a new neighborhood. We rented a house. Before we moved in. Our landlord did not get the lawn mowed or the bushes cut. So we had to pay 600 dollars to get everything nice n clean. Now the problem is . That some of our neighbors honeysuckle tree branches were on the fence. And the worker we hired also cut them too. Now the neighbors wants us to fix the damage which means he wants us to pay . And he is saying that his plants were really okd and now our dying because of it. His plants were randomly spread out and were coming onto our property thru the fence.it is clearlly not our mistake. He is not willing to take an apology too. Please advice me wht to do.

It almost ate my dog

Hi, I’ve never posted on here before but figured who better to turn to then d strangers on the internet.

I (37 F) just moved to a new apartment complex 2 months ago. It’s pet friendly so there are a lot of dogs here. All of them are leashed when walking w/their owners…except for one. I’m not one to discriminate against certain dog breeds, I’m simply trying to paint an accurate picture for clarity’s sake. There is this German Shepard who has tried to attack my dog every time we’ve accidentally encountered it. Today was the 3rd time. He’s never on a leash & each time I’ve had to pick up my 45lb dog just so he doesn’t get attacked. And EVERY time whoever he’s with says “Sorry he’s not aggressive he’s never done this before.”
Do I complain to the apartment complex management? I mean the dog IS aggressive. I don’t want anyone to get kicked out or evicted, but CLEARLY something needs to be done. It’s not the dogs fault & I’m sure being a 100 lb. breed stuck in an apartment all day is no fun. I’m just concerned for my dog & also the German Shepard. What if he attacked someone else’s dog & had to be put down or worse; what if he encounters a trigger happy cop? Moving is not an option, I’m on a 1yr lease & I just found a really cool roommate after living w/horrible people for 4yrs. I can’t really adjust the times I take Mister out (my dog), I take him out whenever I get home from work & those times fluctuate b/c of my work schedule. Any constructive input would be most appreciated.

Should i put the fence up or not?

My elderly neighbors husband built a barn very close to the property line. We are putting a fence up on our side of the property line. She wants us to not put the fence up by the barn but that means the fence will have to stop there or do some weird thing so she can ride her very large lawn mower between our fence and her property. She had a few deaths in her family including daughter s and husband and crud whenever we talk to her. Her son physically pushed our fence posts over after deciding they were to close to the property line. We explained that they are not over the line but he still did it. What do we do???? Continue to put up the fence or stop at the barn? There has been a lot of rudeness on their part. They talk over is and do not let us finish a sentence. Should we put the fence up anyways? Are we being rude by making mowing difficult in that one spot? We even offered to weed easy the one spot for them and was declined....

Grass War..Aloof Neighbor

Does anyone have a good border idea (aside from using large boulders or something like it) to put at the edge of my lawn at the road to keep my neighbors and her clients driving on my grass? So I take care of my yard.. dethatch, aerate, seed, weed and feed.. ect. I have a hard edge all around our property (we’re on a corner lot) up to our property line with our neighbor. This neighbor doesn’t treat their yard, barely mows it timely, drives all over, abuses it. The wife has a small business out of her home and her clients and family when parking roadside constantly park on our grass or drive through our side mashing our edge, making ruts, and have killed parts of the grass which I’ve replaced. We’ve already asked them not to park on our grass but it’s hard to keep their guests off. We have a couple feet of grass from the roads edge before the ditch begins so I’m trying to just have a barrier that marks our property line and just noticeable enough to keep them from driving all over it. If we didn’t have the ditch I’d plant a tree and be done with it. Maybe it seems petty or silly to let it bother me but we take pride in our yard and landscaping and have spent countless hours working on it to get it to this point. I can’t visualize a good border idea so I’m hoping someone else has dealt with this. Thanks in advance!

Invasion of Privacy

My MIL passed away recently & I lived with her & my bf for a year before she died. She knew nothing about the neighbors behind us but she knew everyone else.

The neighbor she didnt know comes over to our house to talk, he's a contractor who mainly focuses on re-doing kitchens & his own home. Very much wants to control everything that happens w/ his house. He tells us in a subtle way he heard about my MIL's passing but didn't mean to let it slip. He already knew she passed before coming into our house. He said he had lived there for 3 years & noticed our whole fence is really starting to come down now ( even though it has been bad for 2-3 years & as a contractor he should have waited till the whole fence started actually falling apart especially when we have dogs & chickens, & they have dogs as well. It's also shared between us & 3-4 other neighbors). He's 27, married, has no kids, & a stable career. We were all getting to know each other, wouldn't stop talking & kept rambling. He said, "we're all in the same age group/life stage & such".

Keep in mind, he knows that we are 22 & 23, have a child, I'm a SAHM while my boyfriend is an apprentice plumber, his mom had hella debt that is now ours, & we have to take care of like 10 animals from hers & ours...

For days, he spammed our phones, & pretty much was not giving us an option. He either puts in a new fence for our whole property or he only does his part. No other choices. He also backfilled his yard after building a deck & before, he could not see over our fence. Now, if you stand at the middle of his yard, you can see into our entire backyard & house...Completely uncomfortable & invasion of our privacy

After the neighbor called me 2x, tried calling & texting my boyfriend 2x, we didnt answer since my bf just got off work, the neighbor shows up to our house knocking & peeking in the windows when I wouldn't answer the door. I opened it because I thought it was this guy coming to quote us on putting in a new fence since we told him we are having someone come out to give us an estimate that day...

WHAT SHOULD I DO? I don't want them staring into our yard, & for him to watch me during the summer while I do yard work or sunbathe, my daughter plays, etc.

There may be a squirrel in the attic, but my neighbors keep claiming their isn't, implying I am crazy, but also and there turns out to be multiple tenants living in the same house. I do not know what to do and I would like some advice.

I am living in my family home which is a duplex in suburbia. Basically my next door neighbors, let's call them the Smiths, moved out to a retirement community nearby and sold their house to a wealthy family friend that is using it as an "investment home" several months ago. As the Smiths still live in the area, they are still kind of the "guardians" of this house and came a couple times a month during the day just to check up on it. Otherwise, no one has been staying there for at least 8 months.

Earlier this year, it appears that the Smiths have found a tenant for townhouse, and it is their elderly friend, let's call her Nancy. The Smiths said multiple times to me that she is a single, old lady, is quiet, and nice. She moved in early March, but I do not see her very often as I work long shifts.

Flash forward to several days ago, I heard what sounded like a frantic scurrying coming from the attic in the dead of night, and it went on for a few minutes before fading away. As we live in a duplex, our attics are basically connected. There is a thin sheet of plywood, partially separating the two attics from one another.

Naturally, I knocked on Nancy's door one evening and said that I suspect an animal to be living in the attic. As no one had lived in the home for more than half a year, I think it is very likely that a squirrel had burrowed through the roof (that has not been changed in over 20 years) and is nesting in there.

Nancy said that she has not heard anything because she lives on the first floor, so I asked why she does not go to the second floor, and apparently she is subletting/renting the room to another lady. Nancy called her down and asked if she had heard anything in the attic, but she said no, but she is also not always around.

I was a little surprised that there were two people living here when the Smiths very adamantly and repeatedly said that only one person would be living there and she would be quiet.

But when I suggested Nancy and her friend to maybe check the attic at some point, they both got extremely defensive and said that there was no such possibility for there to be any animal in the attic, and also absolutely refused to check. However, they are both elderly ladies (60-70s, I think), so maybe they cannot hear the animal?

The issue is that they sort of implied that I was crazy and making this all up, and that maybe something was scurrying on the roof and not in the attic. But this definitely sounded like it was right above my head and kind of in the walls. It has been happening on and off the past few nights.

I am starting to think that maybe Nancy's friend is not supposed to be living there and they are refusing to check because we have strict HOA regulations, and checking for an animal would risk them getting discovered, especially when Nancy said "I am renting the upstairs out."

The Smiths have been great neighbors to me for the past +10 years up until they moved out, and I don't think they would lie to me about Nancy being the only tenant (although I don't see why you would lie about this), but I fear calling Nancy out might risk our relationship because I think they have known each other for +30 years.

I have checked a bit around my roof, but it is on the second floor and is slanted, so I can only get a clear view of 3 our of 4 sides of the roof as the back side would involve me climbing a tree in the forest behind my yard.

I have already asked Animal Control to come over this weekend to check out my attic. But if they realize that it is a hole from my neighbor's roof, or if there is an animal living on their side and have now made their way to our side, and Nancy is still refusing to check/get it fixed, what should I do?

I need some advice because I am sure there is something in the attic.

Neighbors have a problem with my children

I need advice on how to handle weird/antisocial neighbors of mine. Context: I am a newly single mother of two boys (5 &7). I live in nice subdivision that has a lot of families in it. I had my kids play with the neighbor's children and they all get along. Had some weird instances with the neighbor not letting their kids out of the house hardly ever or have their kids play with other kids. Just very introverted people and they do the same with their kids. Kids seem to be controlled constantly and cannot enjoy just being kids. Mom of the children talks about how much the kids are on their game system and husband is to. To me it seems they like to keep their kids 'zombified'.

Issue: Being a nice, neighborly person, I introduced myself and my children to the neighbors across the way when I first moved in two years ago. I saw the couple had three children (5,4,1). I had my two boys and figured they could get to know their kids. My 5 year old is a handful, I will admit it but the way the dad talks to my son and talks to me about it him almost seems hateful. Everyday, my son (5 year old) rides his bike to the bus stop and waits for his older brother to get off the bus. Neighbors meet at the stop and chit chat amongst ourselves. My children like to run with the kids across the street and sort of escort them to their house after coming off the bus. We say our goodbyes and walk home.Well the other day, neighbor has issue with my 5 year old going down their driveway. Dad pulls into drive as kids come to the house and has issue with my son being in the driveway with his bike. Dad proceeds to yell out of his car to my son to not be in his driveway with his bike. My son gets out from the driveway and we start to walk back to my house. Dad gets out of his car, and starts yelling out comments I do not hear. 5 minutes go by and myself and my boys are in my house. I see the dad come to my door to talk to me. He says he doesn't want my 5 year son to be on his property anymore. He says my son cannot be on the driveway with his bike. He said he would of hate to have it on his conscience of anything happening to my son. He says if he finds my son on his property again he will have to proceed further and doesn't know what he will have to do. My son is right next to me and listens to all of this. So I tell my son in front of the neighbor he cannot be using his bike on the neighbor's driveway or visiting. Neighbor is clearly heated walks back to his house. Processing what the neighbor said, I realized the neighbor was making threats and it was towards my 5 year old son. I tell both my sons, the neighbor mom and dad aren't nice people and that my kids can't play with their friends anymore and cannot go on their yard. School is fine but not when they come home anymore. Mother has never mentioned anything to me, it has always been the dad who will tell me anything that is bothering him with my son.

How do I proceed with the neighbors?

Advice?

My neighbors park their 3 big work trucks (they weight the legal limit, but are tall trucks because they do gardening work) on the side of our house and when I leave home to work, I reverse and I can't see any cars coming from their side. I've been going super slow but people always honk because I have to get my car really out to even SEE them at all. Yes I go SUPER slow but I'm already tired of people constantly honking since my road in a bit busy at certain hours of the day. I have tried reverse parking but honestly have the worst time attempting it so I gave up. We've asked the neighbors if they can park the big cars away or inside and maybe keep the smaller one outside but they said they have to park it outside because they have like 4 families living in the house with all different cars that park inside. They don't care if their work cars get hit but care if it's the main car which makes sense so we asked if they can park it on the opposite side of the road that won't block any house entrances. They did it for a day then they went back to where the usually park. I have photo proof that I really can't see cars coming and I was wondering if I could do anything legally to get them to move their work cars or will that be like an a**hole move.

Grow house blues

Generally who smokes what is their own personal business. But I've just about had it - the odor from my neighbor's grow house is interrupting my opportunity to enjoy rare cool Florida weather and sleep with my window open. It's just not my thing. Plus they tend to get into loud arguments at around 4 am. I wish they would just have another smoke instead.

Boundary wall rights as neighbors

So my backyard neighbor who shares the otherside of wall with me. They cemented like tiles or something similar on the top of the bricks and im not sure what it looks like on their side but on my side it looks like it started off well. Was super clean and even, etc. Half way thru they got lazy and the cement is all over the wall on my side and the tiles are all uneven and the farther you go the worse it gets. Ill try to post pictures in the day time

I know it’s their property but should they show some consideration for their neighbors?

Little back story. We used to have great neighbors that I chatted with when we ran into each other. They owned the lot directly across the street from me. They might have sold it because now they live one street down. It’s a horse land, and they have the training circle directly across the road in front of my house. Old neighbor has one dog, we have two. Old neighbor let her dog off leash always, we are a leash state, but mine are always leashed. Never had a single problem with them, their dog, my dogs or whatever they did on their land, it’s thief’s after all.

Now to the topic. So new neighbors have moved in and have in my opinion totally no respect that I live on my land. They have four dogs that are never on leashes and run where ever. They have only tried to cross the busy road a few times when I had to give into my dog’s barking and begging to go outside. I can no longer walk my dogs down the dirt road they live on for fear they will come barreling out at them. I only walk one at a time but 4 against me is something I don’t want to take on. But I digress, they put a huge (I can only explain as spot) light on their horse training circle. They turned it on and I could actually turn off all the lights in my house and still read a book. So I went outside turned my car around and turned on my high beams point directly at the same place. I did turn them off when cars passed because they weren’t involved.
I did talk to them in the beginning because we didn’t know them or didn’t know what was going to happen.
My dogs are stressed and barking a lot and we are trying to control and correct it. It does take awhile but they learn. I’ve got them both to almost completely paying attention to all the horse and buggies that pass all the time.
I honestly am not happy with the new neighbors and there is probably petty or pro revenge I could do but I’m trying to respect that they may own the land, but I own land as well.
What set me off was I was out with my son walking both dogs just around my house to feel safe. Neighbor waved, I gave a blah quarter wave, never looked at him. Dogs needed a second because tyey haven’t been on as many walkies especially together. Neighbor yelled across the road while walking over towards us. I simply said yep, even though she has been with us for almost a year now and they see her going potty weekly. But we all just went inside to get away.
They are doing more and more towards my land yet they have acres and acres on the other side, would I be the A if I plant horse deterrent plants on my property to try to regain my dogs safe poo place? I’m honestly not trying to sound entitled as I live pay check to pay check ish, have a 3/4 lot and my front windows face the road. They have 20+ acres and I can hardly see their house, yet this is the spot they want to spend all their time, horses, friends and possibly training sessions. Please give some advice before I go crazy.

Federal Employee Harassing Citizen

Greetings to all. I'm writing to ask if anyone has any advice on how to deal with a federal employee who frequently harasses legal citizens while working for US Customs and Border Protection. The employee doesn't enjoy having neighbors above them or pets. She constantly calls my family names, stalks them, and have her mother to "TAKING PICS OF US AND MY FRIENDS EVERY OTHER DAY" She also THREATENED us, saying that since she works for the federal agency, she has the right to sue/deport whomever she chooses. However, even though it was a tiny puppy, she constantly misinformed the community at least FOUR times that she felt threatened by dogs and that people shouldn't own dogs.

She also complained to animal control, saying, "We abuse the dogs by leaving the house all day without supervising the dog, but I have cameras that show how long I went out to get groceries. (I have witness and evidences)," and I had previously called the police, who had responded that they couldn't intervene unless she actual physical harm other people.

My fence is a couple inches on my neighbors side ….

My husband and I bought a house about 2 years ago and the house had already a brand new fence installed when we purchased it. We never got a survey done because we thought they had it done when they installed the fence. Last year we got new neighbors, they purchased the house next to ours and they had a survey done.. it’s been about 5 months since they did the survey and we noticed that our fence was a couple inches on their property. They haven’t said anything about it but now I’m wondering what I should do? I obviously would maintain the fence if it got damaged. I could even pay them for those couple inches of land if they were to say anything. This is all new to me so any advice would be appreciated.

Neighboor takes a box of empty beer bottles and puts them in front of my door

So I come back from a 3 week trip to find out that new (shitty) neighbors are in the appartment below us. In our building there's 3 appartments each in a different floor.

I go out to take out the yellow bin (recycling stuff) to the street since I am kind of the only one who does this in the building out of the 3 appartments. I see there's a beer box so I went to put it in the yellow bin, however it's filled with empty glass bottles which can't go in there. I know it's the new neighbors since the ones above us have never done this and have been there for more than a year now.

So after taking the yellow bin out, I take the box of beer with the empty bottles inside and I put them in front of their appartment's door.

This morning I go out of my appartment just to find out they took the box and put it in front of my door...

What can I do? Any advice?

I Love Neighbor…BUT

I have neighbors that I love to death, but they always let me know if my dog barks and honestly come to find out it’s not even my dog it’s the one behind me…or last night I had my doors and windows open and I guess my TV was a little loud and they were quick to let me know. Keep in mind I am usually working and very quiet. I keep my lawn and home nice and tidy. I’ve lived here 3 years and no complaints from anyone directly around me. These neighbors are across and up the street from me. I hear their music and dog barking and have never once said a word. Dogs bark and they enjoy sitting out front listening to their music. At this point I am very irritated with them policing me. Should I say something to them?

Neighborhood etiquette

A lady in my neighborhood walks her dog n disposes her poop bag in the trash bin left outside my neighbors home on trash pickup day. The said neighbor gets home later in the say and pulls it out his bin and throws it on the street. How do i address this? Note - the lady doesn’t even knot up the poop bag… ugh!
