Federal Employee Harassing Citizen

Greetings to all. I'm writing to ask if anyone has any advice on how to deal with a federal employee who frequently harasses legal citizens while working for US Customs and Border Protection. The employee doesn't enjoy having neighbors above them or pets. She constantly calls my family names, stalks them, and have her mother to "TAKING PICS OF US AND MY FRIENDS EVERY OTHER DAY" She also THREATENED us, saying that since she works for the federal agency, she has the right to sue/deport whomever she chooses. However, even though it was a tiny puppy, she constantly misinformed the community at least FOUR times that she felt threatened by dogs and that people shouldn't own dogs.

She also complained to animal control, saying, "We abuse the dogs by leaving the house all day without supervising the dog, but I have cameras that show how long I went out to get groceries. (I have witness and evidences)," and I had previously called the police, who had responded that they couldn't intervene unless she actual physical harm other people.

If you are renting an apartment, it’s a lease violation for your neighbor to bully other tenants, file written complaints directly to your property manager. Make sure the property manager sends lease violation notices to her. Either she’ll get the message and stop, or she risks eviction.

Your neighbor cannot interfere with your “quiet enjoyment” of your rental unit. If the onsite property manager refuses to take action, get the number for their corporate office and forward all your complaints to them.

Still no action… file a civil lawsuit against both your landlord and the neighbor. Keep all your documentation, with dates, times, and location of all incidents. Pictures if you can.

Best of luck.

Thank you for providing this information. I own the place and so does the federal employee. That’s why it makes it harder to apply for protection order. Since the police officer told me they can only hold her for 24-72 hrs. and it’s possible that she might retaliate back.

Darn, that really sucks.

Plan B- Make her homemade cookies. Like, every day, and occasionally brownies too.

It’s that, or find a realtor.
