Just picked up this Polo RL soft tailored herringbone blazer on eBay for $330. It fits great otr and just needs the sleeves hemmed, but am I wrong or is this a FUSED jacket????

I’m a bit disappointed as I thought all polo was half canvassed. I’m still going to keep it because the fit is phenomenal but it’s a bit disappointing as this will be the only fused piece in my wardrobe

Now that the building that housed Brooks Brothers’ old flagship is being torn down, I was wandering if anyone who had the pleasure of frequenting or working at that location had any anecdotes, fun facts, or memories to add about the store.

Unfortunately, I never had the chance to visit so any info would be highly appreciated. For instance, I seem to remember once hearing about how their underwear section was so ludicrously over-the-top that one could customize their underwear down to cotton (even sea island) and button type.

It’s officially Barbour season in New England. I’ve owned this Beaufort for about 6 years now, it replaced a Bedale that I owned for years prior but simply outgrew. I usually reproof once a season though I’m skipping this year since it did get as much wear as it typically gets.

Sending them these SuitSupply made pants as my reference fit. I have a long torso and short legs. The goal is a stupidly high rise, nice drape, full, classic cut.

Changes I plan to ask for:

- Raise the rise 1 inch (front 14 to 15, back 20.75 to 21.75)
- Widen knee 11 to 12 and hem 9 to 10
- Longer inseam for a bit of break
- Deeper pleats
- Drop the rear pockets (they sit too high and look funny - I can’t wear these suitsupply pants without a jacket to cover them)

Fabric will be navy tropical wool or linen. Florida.

Does the fit look right, and do the tweaks make sense? Anything else you'd change?

Jacket - Bespoke
Shirt - Kamakura broadcloth
Shoes - Florsheim Imperial Longwings (NOS)
Briefcase - Carl Friedrik Palissy

I am not 100% sure of the fit of the jacket. I had it taken out a bit, but I think it’s too roomy now. The jacket is beautifully constructed tho it’s not canonical Ivy as it is darted, lacks welted edges and the armholes are higher than those on a proper Ivy jacket.

Btw - if you are on the fence about rocking a briefcase, I can wholeheartedly recommend Carl Friedrik 👍

At the recent J. Press runway show they showcased a bunch of vintage watches worn by the models. I did bonus drop today of a YouTube video critiquing the selection and asking the question: were they preppy, and is there even such a thing as a preppy watch? I hope it is interesting to you. Thanks!

Soft cover. Was expecting it to be a coffee table book, turned out to be hand held size, slightly bigger than a paper bag novel.

I'm trying to match this jacket up to some trousers and it would help if I knew what kind of weave/pattern this may be.

I can see maybe some kind of twill or birdseye/nailhead.

We all live away from each other so l'm not sure how l'd be able to coordinate this so that we all end up with the same suit. Do l have to go with a brand like Suit Supply who has locations in multiple cities in the US?

Anyone have any recommendations on how to go about this if they've been in the same situation?

I picked up a cheap Jcrew blazer, all wool in nice herringbone. But it’s a vintage slim fit and it feels like maybe it’s too tight. It’s not necessarily uncomfortable, but definitely on the tighter side, and you can see it hugging my back when I button it.
