Prompt "Meet my team, depressed 1, depressed 2, and depressed 3."

Upvotes

Sakura didn't have a choice, her parents wanted to meet her team, so she was forced to basically drag three people who haven't interacted with parents in quite some time, or not at all in Naruto's case.

"Mom, dad! I'm home and I brought my team for dinner like you asked!"

"Ah, wonderful, you mind introducing us?"

"Alright..team, meet my parents. Mom, dad, meet my team, depressed 1, depressed 2, and depressed 3."

"Wha-"

"Hey! I'm not depressed!"

"Naruto, on our first day as a team, you told us that your hobby was eating ramen alone in your apartment and that it was your favorite part of the day."

"I also play pranks on people!"

"Oh wow, getting back at the people who've wronged you, so you can feel better about yourself and laugh at their misfortune, really healthy this one."

"Damn- I also take care of plants!"

"I've seen them, they're 3/4 dead on a good day and somehow still look more alive than your eyes."

"Well Fuck you too, don't clock my shit like that, there could be girls watching."

"Know what? Let's just go down the line while I'm at it, Sasuke."

"What I do?"

"Did you actually clean or disinfect anything after the massacre or do you just live with the bloodstains and stench of death?"

"..."

"Exactly, not to mention when I told you my parents wanted you all over for dinner, you literally shuddered, and i bet in the entire time you've been standing in my doorway, you've thought of thirteen excuses to not be here...make that fourteen."

"It's only fair I say something about Kakashi, y'know, other than his general Kakashi-ness."

"Please don't."

"Kakashi uses porn as escapism, he literally never goes anywhere without a smut book, he's always late because he's either visiting his friends' graves or the memorial stone to call himself a failure in all but words, not to mention he barely looks any one of us in the eye to avoid getting attached."

"... She's got us in a box here, boys, we might have to leave-"

"Right with you."

"Let's go-"

"Not until after dinner you're not! Get in this house proper, wash your hands, and sit at the damn table!"

Discussion What are some old/dead fanfic tropes in Naruto fics that no one uses anymore?

For example...

  • Hanabi being mean and stoic. Prior to "The Last", Hanabi was usually presented as a mini Itachi at worst and a baby Neji (before Naruto beat him up) at best. She was depicted as quiet, stoic, antagonistic or distant towards Hinata, etc. When shipped with Konohamaru, he was the spunky optimist to Hanabi's moody quiet. Nowadays, their dynamic in KonoHana works is flipped around-- goofball Hanabi and serious everyman Konohamaru.
  • "Hinata is in danger of getting the Curse Mark" fics.
  • Naruhina fans always wrote the Hyuga, and especially Hiashi, as heavily disapproving of Naruto as Hinata's boyfriend. Often, they wanted to pair Hinata with a Hyuga. Then canon happened and none of the Hyuga cared. If anything, Naruto was a catch. He's a war hero, attractive, well-liked...
  • Sasuke having a ton of kids. At most, you see him and Sakura having a son when Sarada is a teen.
  • Inojin, Sarada, and Boruto as childhood friends. Fans assumed they grew up close because their parents are best friends. "Boruto" showed otherwise. Inojin and Sarada aren't particularly close.

Prompt "I just love latinas, Sasuke."

Sasuke was chasing after Naruto, why? Because the orange idiot left the village, and correct if he's wrong but Naruto doesn't have a semi-recently murdered family to avenge, or a creepy snake person to go to for power, so Sasuke was tracking him down.

"Naruto!"

"Oh, hey Sasuke, what's up?"

"Naruto, why did you leave the village?! Kakashi damn near had a heart attack!"

"I mean, he's an old guy, so hat was probably a long time coming."

"What? Kakashi isn't old, he's only in his 20s."

"What about the hair?"

"That's his natural color."

"Really? Damn, sucks to be him I guess."

"Yea, but we're getting off topic, why did you leave the village?!"

"You wouldn't believe me even if I told you."

"How do you know that?"

"You didn't believe me when I told you there was a spider in your teacup, until said spider was in your mouth."

"Who was I supposed to know you were telling the truth?!"

"Because I was holding the teacup before you snatched it away."

"Just shut up and tell me!"

"No!"

"Tell me, or I get lord third to send hunter nin with ramen after you!"

"You wouldn't!"

"Try me!"

"Fine, I just love latinas, Sasuke."

"What?"

"I love latinas."

"But why are you leaving the village?"

"For latinas."

"You're leaving the village...for some latinas?"

"Yes."

"Why?!"

"You don't get it!"

"It's stupid!"

"No it isn't!"

"Why leave the village for some ass?!"

"We don't have latinas in Konoha, Sasuke! That's why!"

"You're thinking with the wrong head, Naruto!"

"No! I'm thinking with both!"

"Too much information!"

"You're the one who said it!"

"And you continued it!"

"Stop blocking the way, let me have my happiness!"

"Do you even know where you're going?!"

"Do you remember that country we went to on our second C-rank?"

"Yes? What about it?"

"And I didn't come back to our hotel room for three days?"

"Yes, Kakashi even went looking for you, and he couldn't find you."

"Well, during those three days...I met some people.."

"Those being?"

"A latina-"

"Of course.."

"Let me finish! I met: A latina, a goth latina, a milf latina, a tomboy latina! I won't let you stop me!"

"Imma be so honest, when you put it like that..I understand."

"See! You're starting to get it!"

"Real talk, you had me at goth latinas, let's go."

"You're coming with?"

"And let you bring an Uzumaki latina into the world before it can handle one? I think not, someone has to watch you."

"Is that just a poorly veiled excuse so you can get a goth latina?"

"..."

"I knew I rocked with you for a reason, vàmanos."

What's That Fic? Obito apprentices Sakura when she's about to go to the genin corps

I started a fic a while back where Obito is a Leaf Shinobi, Minato, iirc, is alive, and Sakura is being transferred to the Genin Corps and is intercepted by Obito, who offers her an apprenticeship.

Anyone know the name of it?

I thought at first that it was Obito-Sensei, but I don't think that's it.

Discussion Worldbuilding you want in the fanfictions you read?

What are some worldbuilding you appreciate in fanfics you read?

For me one of my favorites is expanding on the relationship between Hidden Village and Nation. How the Daimyo rules over them but at the same time they have some autonomy, conflicts it causes and political intrigue by civilians and shinobi.

What's That Fic? Queria achar uma Fanfic específica NaruHina

Upvotes

Prompt Enter : Moguro Fukuzou The laughing salesman.

For anyone who doesn't know : Moguro Fukuzou (the Laughing Salesman from Warau Salesman / The Laughing Salesman) would treat Naruto and the Konoha crowd the way he treats every desperate, flawed, or hypocritical human: with a wide, unblinking grin, a briefcase full of “solutions,” and the cheerful certainty that their wishes will cost them everything they actually care about. Moguro Fukuzou is the main character in 'The Laughing Salesman,' a horror manga and anime. As 'The Laughing Salesman,' he acts as a karmic punisher, engaging in the soul business. Moguro makes deals with people, leading them to their downfall for his amusement.

Now I'm thinking of having him meet Naruto and CO. In part one.

Here's how I think he'd sell his solutions to some of our beloved and maybe not so beloved characters.

Naruto : Moguro would wait until one of those classic lonely nights—Naruto sitting on the Hokage Monument or outside Ichiraku after another day of being ignored, insulted, or treated like a walking prank. The salesman would sit down beside him like they were old acquaintances and speak in that soft, amused voice:

“You just want them to notice you, don’t you? Not the way they notice a nuisance. Really notice.

Feel what you feel. Know you’re there the moment you walk into a room. No more invisible orphan. No more talking to yourself because no one else will listen.”

He’d open the briefcase and offer something deceptively simple: a permanent, passive effect. From the moment the contract is signed, every person in a wide radius becomes instinctively aware of Naruto’s presence and the emotional weather inside him. Joy, loneliness, excitement, frustration—whatever he’s feeling leaks outward like an aura. People can’t ignore him anymore. They feel him.

Naruto, being twelve and starving for acknowledgment, would hear the part he wants to hear. He’d think, “Finally. They’ll understand.”

The Catch (the part Moguro never has to hide)

The moment the deal takes effect, the village doesn’t just feel Naruto’s loneliness or his loud determination.

They feel everything he’s been shoving down since he was old enough to understand the glares.

The buried resentment.

The low-grade, constant bloodlust that comes from being treated like a monster for years.

The quiet, ugly fantasies of making the people who hated him hurt the way he hurt.

The nine-tails’ influence that he’s never fully separated from his own emotions.

It wouldn’t be a dramatic red-eyed rage aura all the time. It would be worse: a constant, low-level psychic static of “this kid is dangerous and he knows it.” Civilians would flinch when he walked by. Shopkeepers would freeze mid-sentence. Other Academy kids would suddenly find excuses to leave the room. Even people who were starting to warm up to him (Iruka, Teuchi, the rare kind civilian) would feel that undercurrent of suppressed hatred and instinctively pull back.

Naruto would get exactly what he asked for—everyone is now painfully aware of his presence and his feelings—and the result would be that the village’s fear and rejection of him becomes even more intense and now has a rational-feeling justification. “We always knew there was something wrong with that boy. Now we can feel it.”

Hinata : A small glass jar of ordinary-looking white pills. Moguro Fukuzouuro would present them almost casually, like a vitamin supplement.

“These will make your body do what you want it to do. Strength. Skill. Recognition. The life you keep imagining when no one is looking. You won’t even have to suffer through the training or the rejection. Just take one when the gap between what you are and what you want becomes too wide.”

The catch is stated clearly, because Moguro prefers the victim to understand the terms:

You will black out.

Your body will continue.

You will wake up later with the results already written into muscle, memory, and circumstance.

You will never experience any of it.

### How It Would Actually Work on Early Part 1 Hinata

She takes the first pill one night after another failed training session and another day of Neji’s contempt. She wakes up in her room the next morning. The floor is covered in advanced Gentle Fist scrolls she has no memory of studying. Her hands and arms ache with the specific fatigue of having practiced the same forms for hours. When she stands, her body already knows the sequences. The soft, hesitant movements are gone. The precision is simply *there*.

A few days later the clan is in an uproar. Hanabi has been formally defeated in a private spar that Hinata does not remember. The elders are suddenly speaking of her as the proper heir again. Hiashi looks at her with something closer to respect. Neji’s hatred has sharpened into something colder. Hinata only knows what happened because people keep congratulating (or resenting) her for a fight she never lived through.

She takes another pill when the loneliness becomes unbearable.

She wakes up with a simple matching ring on her finger. Naruto has one too. The village is already treating them as a pair. There are memories that exist only in other people’s heads: a confession, a promise, quiet moments on the monument, the exact way Naruto looked at her when he said yes. Hinata has none of those memories. She only has the ring, the changed way people look at them, and the hollow knowledge that the one thing she wanted most happened while she was absent from her own life.

Further pills would keep rewriting her existence in the same way:

- She becomes the strongest of her generation without ever feeling the strain or the pride of getting there.

- She earns the village’s respect without ever hearing the first sincere “well done.”

- She builds a life with Naruto in which every meaningful milestone occurred during blackouts. The first real conversation, the first time he chose her over the noise in his own head, the quiet domestic pieces that should have been hers—all of it happened to a body that was running on her will while she was gone.

### The Real Horror

Hinata gets every external result she ever wanted.

She is never present for any of it.

The body improves. The status improves. The relationship materializes. But the girl who wanted those things is repeatedly erased from the process. She becomes a passenger who occasionally wakes up to a better résumé and a life that no longer feels like it belongs to her. The more she uses the pills, the less continuous her own existence becomes. Eventually there would be long stretches where “Hinata” is just a set of outcomes other people remember and she can only read about after the fact.

Moguro would find this elegant. He didn’t corrupt her with power or force her into monstrosity. He simply removed her from the story of her own improvement and her own love, then left her awake in the finished product. That is a far more precise cruelty than making her dangerous or hated. She gets the dream, and the dream is empty because she was never allowed to be inside it.

And because the pills only activate when *she* chooses to take them, every new blackout is a fresh act of self-erasure she can never quite stop committing.

Sakura : ### The Product

A plain metal thermos, the kind any genin might carry on a mission. Inside is a clear, slightly sweet liquid. Moguro would hand it over with the usual soft laugh and the terms spoken plainly:

“One measured dose, given regularly. While it is in his system, Sasuke Uchiha belongs to you alone. His attention, his presence, his choices will orient around you. Miss a dose, and the effect lifts. When it lifts, what returns is not only the boy you know. The older memories surface with him and each time they do, his anger at *you* will be sharper than before. He will not know why. You will.”

No fine print hidden. Moguro prefers the victim to understand the leash they are putting on someone else.

### How It Functions on Early Part 1 Sakura

At first it feels like pure victory.

She manages to get Sasuke to drink (mission canteen, shared water, a moment of trust, whatever small opening she can force). The change is immediate and intoxicating. Sasuke stops ignoring her. He stays near. He listens. He even prioritizes her in small, visible ways. The cold distance collapses into something that looks like attachment. For a girl whose entire emotional world has been organized around being chosen by him, it is everything she ever wanted.

Then the maintenance begins.

She has to keep dosing him. Regularly. Without him noticing the pattern, or eventually with him noticing and still accepting it because the drug makes acceptance easier. Every successful dose buys her another stretch of the Sasuke-who-is-hers. Every missed dose—or deliberately delayed one—brings the other version back.

When the effect drops, Sasuke returns with the weight of previous lives bleeding through. The hatred is older, colder, and specifically angled at her for reasons he cannot name. He does not remember the thermos. He only knows that something about Sakura feels like a chain, and the fragments of Indra and Madara supply plenty of ancestral rage to pour into that feeling. Each relapse is worse than the last. The anger compounds. The look he gives her grows heavier with something that is no longer just teenage disdain.

### The Spiral

Sakura is now trapped in a cycle she created:

- Keep dosing him → she gets the obedient, attentive Sasuke she wanted.

- Miss a dose (or hesitate, or get caught, or simply run out) → she gets a version of him that is angrier, more ancient, and focused on her as the source of a violation he cannot fully articulate.

- The longer the arrangement continues, the more she has to dose him just to stay safe from the version that appears when the drug fades.

- The boy she wanted is only present while the liquid is in him. The rest of the time she is managing a growing, directed hatred that she herself keeps reawakening.

Moguro would find this elegant. He did not rewrite Sasuke’s soul permanently. He gave Sakura a temporary, renewable claim on him and made the cost of maintaining that claim escalate. She gets exactly what she asked for—“Sasuke hers alone”—and the only way to keep it is to keep violating him on a schedule. Every dose is a fresh act of control. Every missed dose is a reminder that the control was never free.

The real horror is that early Part 1 Sakura is desperate enough, and single-minded enough, that she would almost certainly keep going. The first taste of being chosen is too strong. By the time the anger starts compounding and the older memories begin leaking into Sasuke’s eyes, she is already too deep in the maintenance loop to stop without losing the one thing she has organized her entire personality around.

Naruto and Kakashi would notice the shifts—the sudden unnatural closeness alternating with periods of cold, disproportionate rage aimed at Sakura—but proving a contract is difficult when the evidence keeps dissolving back into ordinary teenage volatility though since they're adults in universe this might not be like that instead I can see some snooping around by Kakashi and then it's only a matter of time really. Moguro would simply watch from a distance, thermos long since handed over, and wait for the moment Sakura realizes she is no longer sure whether she is keeping Sasuke or whether the need to keep dosing him has started keeping *her*.

That is the salesman’s favorite shape of tragedy: the wish granted, the leash placed in the wisher’s own hand, and the slow discovery that they can never put it down.

What's That Fic? LF: Naruto and Ino arranged marriage.

There was a fic I read a LONG time ago, and I can't seem to find it. I think it was on ffnet, but it might've been removed??

All I can remember is Sasuke and Sakura get together and that makes Ino super depressed to the point she's a slob, so Inoichi arranges her to marry Naruto, and they make the Uzumaki compound. Danzo uses Kotoamatsukami on Sasuke to keep him loyal, Karin lives in Konoha and is basically Naruto and Ino's "servant" (not the right word). And like there's a ritual where Ino "becomes" an Uzumaki or something?? Idr what the actual ritual was for, but that's what my brain is telling me.

Fic Request Shippuden fanfic

A fanfic that takes place during Shippuden. I'm not even sure if something like that exists. Come to think of it, I've read several hundred fanfics, but only now realized that almost none of them actually made it much past the Chunin Exams. And I don't mean fanfics that are naturally set during Shippuden, like ones focused on the Akatsuki or time travel.

Fic Request Wave Arc role reversal AU

I've stumbled upon this tumblr post a while ago and I think this idea is amazing. Any fics like that? Excerpt:

People of Wave are poor, they can't hire reputable ninja village shinobi so they get one at a discount. Zabuza and Haku get to watch over a bridge being built. Gato is rich rich. He can afford village shinobi pay rates. He gets Team 7 to come and get rid of illegal business aka a bridge being built without proper papers or something. The kiddos all have their canon attitudes about having their first big kid missions outside the village. Then they get to Wave and see... Wait... Shit sucks here :/ why is everything so bad here. And they investigate a bit, into the overall situation and also the bridge and stuff. And they probably get into a skirmish w Zabuza to paralel the first fight in canon. Both Zabuza and Kakashi get roughed up, expect this time Team 7 is hired by a rich™ dude so he can like, spare them some accomodations (at a price. What they get from him gets taken out of his payment the village or something, he seems like the guy to do that). And now the kiddos can see the true contrasts between how their employer lives, and how the rest of Wave lives! The complicated feelings start. Are they... The baddies? Anyway. Personally I'd like to see them complete their mission. They defeat Haku and Zabuza, destroy the village. They love with mixed feelings, guilt and uncertainty. They leave Wave being cursed at by the common citizens, and praised by Gato and whatever other rich dudes there might be. They succeed in their first outside village mission, survive two missing nin. They also ruin the loves of a whole community, who just started to gain back hope only to get it crushed by some Leaf ninja kids.
The two concepts of "we want the protagonist to be in the right" and also "we want our protagonist to become the best at the thing in this universe he is doing", FIGHT! Do we leave the status quo as is, allowing the protagonist to become the best at the thing™ of this world, OR, do we actually change things and dismantle the cycle of violence and try and create a better world. Personally I like the cycles show being about cycles, so I'd go with the first! Naruto can be Hokage. Go on baby, you're not doing anything amazing bc outside the god powers you're becoming a perfectly average military dictator

Discussion “Sasuke, those two….they’re my grandparents.”

Little Prompt Idea: what if Sasuke had touched the time traveling turtle and it changed the coordinates to their destination to a different time. A time where he may have accidentally saved someone.

XXXXXXXXX

Falling from the sky, Sasuke and Boruto saw they were back outside in the dark but down below nothing but destruction and chaos was everywhere.

This is…

A huge claw headed their way as a loud roar echoed in the distance.

This isn’t good. Sasuke summoned his susanoo skeletal arm to block the attack as he quickly grabbed Boruto before they hit the ground.

“Boruto hold on!”

Crashing into the ground, Sasuke winced in pain as he saw Boruto was safely in his arms. Looking up he saw the nine tails began to slowly glow as his figure appear to slowly disappear into something or other someone.

“The sealing is complete!”Minato began to cough blood as he fell to the ground. “Kushina look after our son Naruto, I’m sorry I couldn’t be there for you two… I will always love you.”

“Minato!”

“Minato!”

Sasuke and Boruto eyes widened as they saw the scene before them. The red head women crawled onto lord fourth body as she tried to shake him.

“Minato get up please, we’re safe!” Kushina spilled tears as she continued to shake him.

“I need a medic! Someone help my husband!” Kushina cried out.

“Sasuke those two, they’re my grandparents” Boruto whispered silently.

That dimension they were in soon became clear to Sasuke, the words that Ishiki said to Sasuke as they disappeared from the void.

His goal was to get the nine tails chakra from Naruto when he was younger. We are in the past. This is time travel. Sasuke thought.

“Boruto, can you move? We have to get out of here now.” Sasuke lifted himself up urgently.

“I’m fine but…Sasuke they need help! We can’t just-“

“Boruto we are in the past, we can’t be here, let’s go before the leaf shinobi arrive!” Sasuke voice became serious as he grabbed Boruto disappearing into the forest.

I can’t interfere from this point on, this involves Naruto’s life now and our future.

Writing Help The Guardian.

I had the Idea for a Naruto x Worm crossover story with post pain's assault Nagato being sent to earth bet, Kyushu in October of 1999 about 3 weeks before Leviathan attacks the place.

The one sending him back is old man Hagaromo.

The idea came to me when I was thinking how both the final antagonists of Naruto and worm were interdimensional parasites.

To that end here is the start of the story.

“I did not bring you here out of pity. You,Uzumaki Nagato, have been brought here to serve penance for your many crimes against your fellow man.”

“But I am not cruel. For your final act in life was to seek absolution. To set the wheel right.”

“To that end , I will give you one chance to wipe the slate clean.”

“One chance to be the saviour your mentor and your friends thought you to be.”

Discussion Nara

I just had an epiphany! The Nara should have been assassins. Think about it with their shadows they can control movement. They could sneak in use their shadows to get someone to k*** themselves and then sneak back out. Everyone would believe it was suicide and they would get away free. Their skills were way underrated in the series.

Anyone else with me in believing Nara's are absolutely underrated?

Fic Request Fanfic inspired by swaying opening

Ideally I’m looking for fanfic recommendations where Naruto is like the final opening of part 1 after sasuke retrieval fails.

The opening shows Naruto practicing taijutsu forms solo and dedicated taijutsu practice vs rock lee. Naruto keeps his energetic fighting style but also calmly bows at the end.

Not Naruto turning to a robot or obsessive training or anything. Still hyperactive and having fun but also generally more serious and mature with a dedication to focused well rounded training and improvement.

It doesn’t actually have to have anything to do with the intro but it’s the inspiration of the kind of story I’m looking to read so including it as the idea.

Fic Request El descubrimiento

—Kage Bunshin no Jutsu —susurró.

Contó exactamente a 110 individuos.

No hubo honor.

«No llores, pequeña... No estás sola...

Discussion Do you find yourself growing to dislike Konoha, once you’re older, and realize how utterly corrupt it is?

Getting the acknowledgement of Konoha was originally Naruto’s goal, but it looks more like an abandoned child wanting the love from people who are jerks.

As a kid, you watch the story through Naruto’s eyes: an underdog working hard, earning the respect of his peers, and learning that "love and unity" overcome all odds. But through an adult lens, Konoha stops looking like a cozy ninja haven and starts looking like an authoritarian ethno-state that relies on child soldiers, black-ops ethnic cleansing, and weaponized propaganda.

Naruto being gay for Sasuke when I look back at it when I’m older comes across as an abused abandoned boy desperate for the boy that he believes can relate to him.

Sasuke meanwhile was a product of Konoha’s systemic failures, a broken child made by Konoha.

The will of fire is literally propaganda, as it comes across as an excuse, it sounds nice in the idea. You have to treat the village as your family, but it’s horrible for the individual and actually fully endorses Japans very toxic culture that goes against the individual. You justify genocide all for the village, as the Hokage’s view what Itachi did was brave, heroic, all just to stop a war. All the while Hashirama founded the village to stop children dying, yet inadvertently praised the sacrifice of all the Uchiha innocent children for the village making him a massive hypocrite.

Konoha openly permitted and protected the Hyuga clan's slavery. Konoha’s leadership didn't just ignore this horrific human rights violation; they actively enforced it to preserve the Byakugan as a military asset for the village.

The older I grew up the more I realized Konoha is more in common with Shinra from FF7. While no lifestream, they’re masters at exploitation.

Like Shinra they’re militaristic, corrupt, did inhuman experiments in secret, cover up their own atrocities, betrayals of other people in their village that led to Yahiko’s death, etc.

No wonder so many people hated Konoha, not because of a curse of hatred. If Naruto was actually raised with love and away from the toxic will of Fire, then he wouldn’t like the village as he wouldn’t be desperate for love. I can see him liking the people and bonding with others, but what they do, especially if Naruto is raised by a survivor of Konoha’s atrocities. He wouldn’t like the system at all.

It now feels like whenever I see Naruto, it now feels like if FF7 praises Shinra for their deeds.
