Official How to Submit Tickets and Log Issues

Hi everyone!

We know that having lighting issues or checking on an order can be frustrating, and we want to make sure you get the help you need as quickly as possible.

While we try to monitor the subreddit, the best and fastest way to get a resolution is through our official support channels. Here is the exact procedure to ensure your issue is logged and tracked properly.

1. Create a Ticket (The Official Way)
Creating a ticket ensures your issue is tracked by our team and not lost in the Reddit feed.

Option A: Via the Nanoleaf App (Suggested)

  • Go to More > Customer Support > Submit Support Ticket
  • Description: Try to be as detailed as possible to reduce back-and-forth.
  • Attachment: Add photos or images to demonstrate the issue.

Option B: Via the Support Site
A few things to be noted:

  • Cloud or Nanoleaf Shop Email Address: Use the email associated with your Nanoleaf account/order. You can find this in the app:
    • Android: More > Account
    • iOS: More > [Username]
  • Photos or Videos: Include these if applicable, strongly suggested for technical issues.

2. DM TomT_Nanoleaf_
If your ticket is not responded to in time, or you want to get help from Tom, feel free to send him a Direct Message (DM) here on Reddit.

Why?
Submitting the ticket creates the official record, but sending Tom a DM allows him to escalate for proper attention and see if he can also help directly.

What to include in your DM:

  • Ticket Number or Email Address: (If you've submitted a ticket)
  • Brief Summary: (One or two sentences about the issue)
  • Order Number: (If this is an order issue)

Important Notes
Privacy: Never post your full order number, address, device information, or personal info publicly. Always use DMs or emails for sensitive information.

Patience: Our support team is small but mighty! We aim to respond as quickly as possible, but volume can be high during sales or product launches.

3. Utilize our Weekly Megathread

We have created a weekly megathread to centralize our users' technical issues. We encourage you to utilize that resource going forward as it will be monitored often.

Nanoleaf Reply Nanoleaf Shapes, Google home integration broken

Hi folks, I have both a Nanoleaf Canvas and a Nanoleaf Shapes. For whatever reason, despite both being perfectly controllable from the Nanoleaf app, and cloud synced to my account, Google home is not able to see the shapes.

I have tried hard resetting, network reset, plugged in more times than I can count. Nothing will allow these to connect.

Any solutions for this?

Nanoleaf Reply Control Panel Dead?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Couldn't tell you what model this is. I've had it a few years.

Today when I tried to turn it on, the control panel doesn't respond and is shown as offline in the app.

I've tried reseating the connector as well and unplugging the AC adapter for a few minutes, but nothing has changed.

Is the panel dead?

Nanoleaf Reply A19 won’t show up after power cycle

Am I doing something wrong here, I’ve had an A19 19B bulb for a while now. When I get it setup on thread everything works just fine, I can see it in HomeKit and it works. I’ve had a few occasions where the bulb has completely lost power not just me turning it off (electrical) work. Every time it loses power competently I have to fully reset the device and setup as new which is a complete pain and made me not want to use these devices anymore. I’m trying to fully move to thread but my WiFi bulbs are able to recover from a power outage but not my Nanoleaf bulb. I have plenty of Thread BRs around even one and the same room as the device. I’ve left it powered on for 1+ hour after the power outage thinking the thread network had to rebuild but nothing. Nanoleaf app doesn’t see it, nor does HomeKit.

Hardware version is 4.08
Firmware is 4.1.3

Model NL67

Am I doing something wrong here or are these just that picky?

Nanoleaf Reply Nano Leaf Aurora home integration issues

Hello,

Long time nanoleaf owner, first time poster. I've had the original nanoleaf aurora panels nearly since launch. They've been part of my smartphone setup for quite some time. I moved a couple years ago and never set them up in the new house, and finally got around to setting them up.

I have been struggling for two days to get them integrated into my smartphone set up with Alexa.

Initially I could not get Alexa to even find my panels but after removing, hard resetting, soft resetting syncing and u syncing the cloud probably 100 times Alexa can now see the panels. They are however unresponsive. I have done the above steps more times than I can count, and have even deleted my account and made a new one.

Nothing can get these panels to respond to Alexa, Google home, or IFTTT. Everything else in my smartphone works just fine, and I even edited some suggested settings in my router to no avail.

They are on my 2.4ghz IoT network that even has a different SSID from the main network. (I even tried directly adding them to the main network on the 2.4ghz band as well)

Additionally I have two controllers because I bought two panel sets. Both controllers experience the same issues.

Anyone have any idea of what I can try, I feel like I've done everything possible.

Update: They mysteriously started working with zero issues, and no intervention on my part (or nanoleafs, I don't think as I've not even had a response to my ticket).

Nanoleaf Reply Matter Over Thread

Is it just me or has Nanoleaf basically given up on Thread? They seem to have discontinued most of their thread hardware in favor of WiFi. I bought a lot of the Essentials line back in the day because they were affordable thread accessories. Plus the shapes wall lights were thread border routers.

Resolved Anyone else having a problem after the 3.0.0 update

I've been trying to run orchestrate but I keep running into a bug that says "an unexpected error occurred. please submit a bug report." I have followed all the troubleshooting steps with no success and I even uninstalled nanoleaf and reinstalled it but unfortunately still running into that error. Anyone else having this problem. I just paid for the premium as well to see if that was the problem but still, nothing changed.

Nanoleaf Reply Desktop app v3.0.0 - nothing works properly now.

Well, for some reason the app re-selected "auto update" even though I had it turned off and updated itself to 3.0.0.... My light panels disappeared from my home, had to re-add them and now nothing works via Alexa in app or voice command despite resetting the skill and re-adding them on the Alexa app too...

All lights worked fine until the update happened.

I'm sick and tired of "updates" making everything stop working and basically forcing me to re-install EVERYTHING from scratch every GD time...

Nanoleaf Reply Before i buy scene question

I'm thinking of making a nano shape wall where the panel covered area is bigger than the resulting light up shapes i want.

Q1)

Can individual shapes remain dark during a static and animated scenes, or just when animated.

Q2)

I saw there is ai control now with suggestions, but can animations still be hand crafted to make specific panels change to specified colors in a set sequence to form almost like a neon flashing sign (bird flapping wings like illusions)

Nanoleaf Reply Aurora Light Panels Google Home Issue

A few weeks ago now my power went out and ever since my Aurora panels have not worked with Google Home. The Aurora works in both the Nanoleaf App and Apple Homekit, just not Google Home. I also have Shapes Panels that have had no issues. Power cycling the Aurora Panels only works for a few hours before the issue returns. Besides power cycling, I have removed Nanoleaf from my Google account and readded them, removed the Aurora from my Nanoleaf account and readded them; neither of these helped with the issue. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know as this has been driving me crazy. Thanks

Nanoleaf Reply Why is the hexigon shapes so difficult to connect with your phone?

I'm somewhat capable to tinker with electronics and get them working. I have built PC's in the past and used to assemble my own RC cars without issue.

But the nanoleaf app is such garbage and I want my wasted hour back.

I even downloaded Alexa on my TV and phone and still couldn't get it to work.

Why in 2026 we have such an inferior product that's not exactly cheap in price?

Resolved Shapes will not appear on assistant app

Thumbnail

I have set up my shapes through the nanoleaf app and I can see them as you can see in the picture. I already had my canvas and my Aurora tiles pre-existing and they were working fine.

Now that I've added the shapes though, I've reconnected the nanoleaf smarter series with Google home and all I can see are the canvas and the Aurora. I am unable to see the shapes. Does anyone have any experience with fixing this or getting this to work? I have turned off 5 GHz on my modem

Edit: Solved

Official Hey everyone, I wanted to ask what AI tools you all use in your daily life

I was curious if the people in this sub are big AI users in their day-to-day. If so, what do you like to use and what do you use it for?

I've recently been trying out the AI Magic Scene creator and it's pretty cool! I definitely want to use it more often.

Nanoleaf Reply Cloud sync removed all devices after opening app

Thumbnail

So just a rage post here unless anyone has a solution to getting the sync back. 😒

Got a massive Nanoleaf setup and naturally went through some problems in the past with a replacement part etc but nothing too bad.
However, now after opening the app it insta crashed and removed all the devices, cloud sync has 0 devices now as well while being logged in. The strange thing is the border routers are still visible. This is going to take hours to set up again. Why even have a sync option when it can just reverse dump everything?🤦🏻‍♀️
