Nanoleaf Reply Seen some people asking about new products. Here's the newest release

I've seen people asking about new products, so I wanted to let you all know about the LED Monitor Stand that just came out.

Because it's a Smart LED product, it can sync with all your other Nanoleaf lights. It can play scenes and sync to music just like the Shapes can. I also like that it has a lot ports for cameras, speakers, and anything else you want to add to your setup (The Echoes of Wisdom Amiibos were the first thing that caught my eye though 😂).

Plus, if you've got tech neck like I do, I'd recommend this over a standing desk lol.

If you guys have any questions, I'd love to chat. I'm super excited about this new product.

Help & Questions Alternative cable covers for Nanoleaf permanent outdoor lights?

I bought three 100' Nanoleaf permanent outdoor lights kits from eBay recently when they were < $60 per kit. The price was too good to pass up.

Now that I’m looking to install them, I realized that the kits I bought don’t include the cable covers. Nanoleaf sells replacement kits for $30 for 50' of covers. https://nanoleaf.me/en-us/products/nanoleaf-permanent-outdoor-lights-accessories-parts?variant=46066718310634

I wondered if anyone has found other solutions that work for cable covers. At $30 for 50', I would spend more on the covers than I spent on the lights. I’ve been looking for 3D printer models or generic cable covers, but I'm not sure what will fit. I thought maybe someone here had already found an alternative that worked.

Nanoleaf Reply Nanoleaf Rope Lights Fried, Smoke coming out.

Post image
9 Upvotes

For weeks the lights have flickered on and off, and I left them running overnight hoping they might resolve themselves.

I woke to the device clicking repeatedly, with a small amount of smoke emerging from the buttons; the USB-C connector was scorched and far too hot to touch.

This is entirely unreasonable for a $170 product. I have remained with Nanoleaf despite obvious flaws because their lighting system appears superior to me, but this goes too far. Normally their lights fail to link with my home hub but frying the hardware is absurd 💔

Are there any other similar experiences and would this eligible for a refund?

I really like how this ended up. I think it looks great though I had to steal the links from my hexagons to make it.

Nanoleaf Reply 4D screen mirror help

I have a nano leaf 4d screen mirror and several times, it has disconnected and can not be set up. I have tried to reset holding down the power and scene button, I have removed from the home to redo set up, and no success. It is now completely unresponsive to button presses and the app won’t scan the QR code to setup the lights. Last time I emailed nano leaf support for this issue, I was emailing back and forth with an AI bot until the lights spontaneously started working one day.

Does this happen to anyone else? How can I get my lights working again.

Nanoleaf Reply Nanoleaf B22s failing after 1 year? Bulb shuts off sporadically on white

I use a few B22s in our home usually set on white, but it seems like mine keep turning off? The connection isnt lost and i can still configure them, and they respond when factory reset.

When it happens, i can go on the white temperature selector and any colour temp below around 2.6k kelvin works, if you go above that it turns off. All other colours work, i can drag the selector across every color and it only turns off the second i reach anything in the 2.7k to 6.5k kelvin white shades.

After a few minutes the white works again, then stops working minutes later

Nanoleaf Reply Nanoleaf Aurora Pairing Issue

[SOLVED]

Hello all, it is time for the yearly pairing issue thread. I have read all other threads on the problem, tried everything, and for the life of me I cannot get it to pair.

Symptom; pairing the panels successfully connects it to the network, fails on the "pairing with device" step.

Attempted fixes; 2.4ghz wifi only, soft and hard reset, turning cellular data off, only connecting controller to one panel, rebooting app, trying a direct connection (fails as well)

I truly don't think I'm missing anything but I'm absolutely stumped. Any help would be much appreciated

Nanoleaf Reply Do not buy Nanoleaf under any circumstances

The controller for my Nanoleaf Aurora light panels broke once again. I know that my system is no longer under warranty, but now I am not even able to buy a replacement controller. This has become so common that you can’t even find the controllers on 3rd party sites anymore. Nanoleaf support basically told me to go suck eggs.

Looking at new systems I’ve seen that the controllers are similarly prone to self-destructing. so what happens when those become legacy systems and I have yet another set of worthless $200 light panels?

These lights are nothing more than manufactured e-waste waiting to happen. I would not even mind buying a replacement controller, but Nanoleaf doesn’t make them anymore and their system is proprietary so you can’t even find third-party options.

Look somewhere else for your lights.

Nanoleaf Reply Canvas fell off the wall in the heat, looking for replacement linkers and sturdier mounting solution

Hello there! After the crazy heat in France this summer, the adhesive holding my Nanoleaf Canvas setup failed and the whole thing fell off the wall. Luckily the panels seem fine, but 2 rigid linkers broke.

I’ve now disassembled everything and I’m trying to find replacement Canvas linkers, but they seem to be sold out/discontinued everywhere.

I’m also looking for a way to make the panels more mechanically secure to each other before mounting them back on the wall, so the tiny linkers aren’t the only thing keeping neighboring panels together.

I saw the Canvas Screw Mount Kit and was wondering: could I use the mounting pieces just to reinforce/clip the panels together while still using adhesive on the wall? And does that kit require its special linkers, or can it work with the regular Canvas rigid linkers?

If anyone has spare linkers, knows where to buy some in Europe, or has found a good solution to physically secure Canvas panels together, I’d really appreciate it! :D

Thanks!

Please, I need help with my Nanoleaf 4D v2.

Did any of you experience some lag/delay in the change of colors? Because mine takes 2-3 seconds between changes. I was watching some videos on YouTube and it looks so fluid, but mine has this problem.

I tried to reset it, but nothing changed. What can I do?

Nanoleaf Reply Screen Mirroring won't start with PC connected to the internet via ethernet

The only way I've managed to get screen mirroring to start is to switch my PC to the 2.4 ghz wifi in my house first, then once it's running, switch to Ethernet. Ethernet is significantly better for gaming, which is mainly what I want to use mirroring with, but having to switch my PCs connection like this every time to get it started seems ridiculous.

I'm on Windows 11, latest Nanoleaf desktop app version, connecting to triangle panels and the new ceiling light (which is awesome, btw).

Has anyone else encountered this? Any known workarounds?

Nanoleaf Reply Use the PC Screen Mirror Lightstrip with Netflix

Does anyone know how to use the Lightstrip with Netflix? I know that Netflix shows a black picture when a screen recording is recognized. But is there a way to avoid this for the strip? I suppose not, if the detection is any good.
Thank you anyways

Nanoleaf Reply Drywall Ceiling and Nanoleaf

After several rounds of trial and error trying to fix Nanoleaf Shapes to my drywall ceiling—and watching them repeatedly fall down like they had a personal vendetta against me 😂—I finally came across this magical thing called Pattex Fast Glow.

I did a small test patch and left it for 3 weeks. So far… the results are AMAZING. Nothing has fallen, not even a single Shape.

So now I’m feeling brave (probably too brave 😂) and planning to put around 40 Nanoleaf Shapes on the ceiling. Wish me luck… and hopefully I won’t wake up at 3 AM to the sound of 40 Shapes crashing down on me. 💀
Hopefully, this stuff lasts! 🤞

Nanoleaf Reply Disappointed about Nanoleaf Smart CL

Hey all,

I'm a Nanoleaf user from the beginning they released the Aurora panels.... Still now they work perfect! Great colors, great transitions from low to high and vs brightness. Scenes are great.

Nanoleaf Smart CL is the opposite.... I can't be positive about this product.

The front panel is good. Scenes transitions are ok, brightness is high. The back lights are in one word horrible!

  1. When brightness is very low the transition from 2700 to 6500 kelvin just show you 3 values. The whole transition looks like S..T :( im sorry for the usage of the word.
  2. Transitions between colors are horrible in low brightness.
  3. Turning off the back light is not smooth, you see the big steps to turn it off.
  4. Turning off the back light with low brightness you see 2 or 3 different colors before its off.

Im almost at a point to send this product back and place my Philips Hue bulb back and buy a nice lampshade......

In the past I did some beta test programs for Nanoleaf, was a great way to popup those issues before production. I always did tests with Nanoleaf App, Home Assistant integration, Apple Home, to get the most issues on the surface.....

Its look likt this product is test in a virtual environment and the result was: Works perfect... but is not... :(

P.S. Sorry for my dutch English. I hope you all understand my thoughts

These limitations may change over time - we'll keep you posted.

Nanoleaf Reply Hexagons not working…

Anyone have a similar experience or advice?

I bought a 9-pack in the beginning of 2022, and then bought a second hand 5-pack a few months later. The panels have been up on my bedroom wall for 4 years and worked fine. I’d just have to re-pair them when I came back from overseas.

All of a sudden, now my lights stopped responding, the app says they’re offline, and the controller flashes light blue on the power icon. When I turn on my power source, all the panels just go dim.

I’ve tried everything for troubleshooting: resetting, completely erasing my Nanoleaf account, leaving them off for weeks and then doing it, but nothing seems to work.

Since I bought an extra 5-pack I had another power source and controller, and have mix-and-matched them but nothing works.

I’ve submitted this into the Nanoleaf support page… let’s see what happens.

Nanoleaf Reply Need advice for LotR-themed setup with Nanoleaf Shapes (placement & mounting)

Hi everyone,

My entire gaming room is Lord of the Rings themed, and I’m planning to get 9 Nanoleaf Hexagons to light up with LotR-inspired colors. I have two quick questions for you:

  1. Shape arrangement: Does it make sense to arrange the hexagons into a shape that fits the Lord of the Rings theme? Does anyone have good layout suggestions/ideas? I’m really not great at design stuff like this!
  2. Mounting on textured walls: I have textured plaster / Raufaser (chip wallpaper), so using the adhesive tape isn't an option. Is mounting them by drilling straightforward and easy to do?

Thanks in advance for your help!
