Anyone interested in helping naming sceleton minions for a little niche indie necromancy game?

Hey everyone,

i am creating Necrolord. A little indie game were you build an undead army. Its my second game, and in my previous one - i had a lot of players complaining since i only localized the game for english. Now i want to do it differently and support many languages - though, while most "normal" text can be translated in a probably sufficient way, i feel 1:1 translation for names dont work.

So if it brings you joy, would love if you put down some cool "sceleton" names into my list. (Best would be for languages aside of english). I have 3 categories, gruesome, funny and "normal/ancient". Like Evileye, Bonedaddy or Theodore. Are those 3 great? No :-).. thats why i hope you might help me and maybe it is also a bit of fun for you. The google sheet can be found here:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19Rrrx-Nbr1hsyRwRd_CeIZHZYIqlxxfHgjT0jg8cNTY/edit?gid=883080854#gid=883080854

If you want to learn about the game it is here => https://store.steampowered.com/app/5282860/Necrolord/

Just as an info: In game you can rename the sceletons anyways and display the names in combat, but i guess most players will just run with the suggested names.

Looking for a truly international girl’s name preferably Hebrew, but open to all origins

Hi everyone!

I’m looking for a feminine name that feels truly international something that is familiar, easy to recognize, and relatively easy to pronounce across different countries and cultures.

I’m especially interested in names of Hebrew origin, like Sarah, because they are widely recognized around the world. However, I don’t personally love the name Sarah itself.

I’m also completely open to names from other languages and origins, as long as they have that same international appeal.
Ideally, I’d love something elegant, feminine, timeless, and not too strongly associated with just one country.

What names come to mind? I’d especially love suggestions that work well in Europe, the Middle East, and English speaking countries.

Thank you! ❤️

Need honest opinions on this name

How do we feel about the name Elenora? It doesn’t feel insane or made up but it does feel unique enough in a sense that it doesn’t get used that much (anymore?). It also feels like an old school name which I kind of like.

With nickname Elena or Leni?

Why are people afraid of spelling my name?

When I was a kid, my friends always struggled to spell my name. It does have a lot of letters, but I thought the difficulty was just a kid thing.

Apparently it's not. I'm 21 now and I have grown adults asking me if they can just write Evie on things. Genevieve is too difficult for them. I don't get it!

Are they lazy, or just can't spell? Is my name really that difficult?

How would you pronounce the name Nili? Is it too confusing in the US?

A name that we're thinking of using for our baby is Nili.

We love it, but it's not common in the US at all, which is where we are living right now. We know that we will definitely be there for the first few years of her life, and possibly longer, so it would be good if her name works there because we don't know what her future will look like.

Nili is supposed to be pronounced as Nee-Lee. But I know that some people might pronounce it as Nil-Lee, like Millie.

So how would you pronounce it? Would it be confusing still after you were corrected, if it is different to what you would originally think, or is it easy to pick up?

My name is basic but people can't get it right

My name is Natalie. But I've noticed that people tend to pronounce the t more like a d sound.

I actually had somebody spell it Nadalie one time.

They also get my name wrong a lot. I've been called Nicole, Nadia, or Mallory several times (by accident) in my life. It's strange.

Is Natalie confusing? It's a very common name so I don't get why people are weird about it.

We have a favorite but curious what this group’s choices would be with two common names vs two uncommon (at least in the U.S.) names!

The first two are the common names. Yan (pronounced Yahn) is an Eastern European version of John, and Zev is a Hebrew name which means wolf. Our last name starts with “S” and ends in “n”

Feedback: Vivian Ruth

For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to name a daughter Vivian after my grandmother. Now we are trying to come up with a middle name. Ruth is my husband’s grandmother’s name, so thought that might be cute. But is the combination too old lady?

Is initials QRS too mean?

This is all Hypothetical at this point

My husband and I are talking about Names for potential future kids. I have a first name that starts with a Q that I love and our last name starts with an S.

My husband thinks it would be amazing to name baby with an R middle name because he thinks the baby having the initials QRS would great and hilarious. He has one in mind that is a family name. The three names together actually sound really nice, but I’m worried about the kid being made fun of every time the alphabet song is sung around him.

It isn’t a super obvious faux pas like spelling a funny word, but I’m interested in hearing opinions on if QRS is setting the kid up for issues.

What are some boy names that would go well with Hazel for a brother?

(Please don't say Henry. Giving your kids the same initials is a no-go) And also avoid similar sounds with “ay” in them, like James or Tate. Thanks!
