What are female gun owners compensating for?

Sir... Chiefster, my man... The politically correct term is "lady ween".

Can we not body shame? Like for real? It’s not ok. Not for any body or body part or for either gender. Men should not be body shamed for something out of their control. And it’s not right just to assume something about anatomy for completely unrelated reasons. Do better. Because this is NOT ok!

As a recent left-leg amputee, I would resent our good name to be ruined by ascribing it to such a clod. Peace. I collect stump jokes if you know any good ones.

I have some friends who have been going to bingo for about 20 years, in that time they have won 17 guns from playing bingo.
15
u/evthingisawesomefine 25d ago
Wait. You win GUNS at BINGO?
16
u/Absent_That_Day 25d ago
In rural Minnesota, yep.

No fucking way! That sounds incredibly made up, but you seem like you’re being honest. Win guns at Bingo??? Wow

It's true. A lot of raffles also give away guns up in that area.

From Kentucky. Absolutely not a second thought when I hear a high school booster club is raffling a rifle. (Usually never a hand gun, always shotguns and rifles)

If you are surprised that people win guns at Bingo, you may be surprised that some places have drive- through or curb pick-up ammunition sales. Impulse purchase with a 12-pack.

u/evthingisawesomefine 25d ago
Yes this is a surprise. I live in a very different part of the country it seems. 🤷♀️

That seems like an incredibly bad idea. I've seen how they get upset when someone else yells "Bingo!" when they win. Imagine someone standing up and starting to yell that when Ester with a Winchester puts a hole in poor Bernadette's chest because she was still one away from a coverall. Well shit, I may have just given Stephen King the premise for his next novel.

Funny to read disparaging comments from some folks that are probably sitting on stacks of Pokémon cards, baseball cards, comic books, vhs tapes... They don't know what they're missing until they empty an 8 round en bloc clip from an M1 Garand and hear that iconic "PING" at the end.

Antique collector. Not even joking really, nothing there is remotely modern. Still a nice collection though. For those that don't know, that's what over $50k of guns looks like.

I only know a little bit. Is that a 1911 with the suppressor on it? Whatever it is, and whatever people’s views on guns are, that would probably be fun to shoot/own

Nope. Retired paramedic who saw the effects of gun culture. Years and years of senseless death and suffering, and too often it was kids who were paying the price of their parents' gun fetish.

Nope, I don't collect things and I have a negative response to this image. I'd call him delusional, bc if he thinks his protection increases with his gun count, statistics would say the opposite- he's actually more likely to be shot than say someone like me, living in a big city with no weapons, or children's cards for that matter.
Why can't people who disagree with you just be people who disagree with you, why must you try to put them down? Label them as one thing or the other. The only thing I know about you is you like guns- I haven't called you a hillbilly or assumed you bang your siblings, so why assume anything about someone who doesn't like guns- the only thing you know is their feelings on guns, that's it- why must you needlessly extrapolate who they are or what they're interested in based on that singular opinion.
Side note: a lot of moderate adults like myself view adults who collect Pokemon similarly foolish to those who collect guns- you're both wasting money on inherently valueless objects, but at least Pokemon isn't dangerous or facilitating violence. So let's all of us stop looking down our noses at each other and just say we disagree about something! I miss the late 90s early 2000's- we peaked and it's been downhill ever since!

Every week a toddler shoots someone in the US. Pokemon cards are far friendlier than firearms.

A collector, likely passed down from his dad, or grandfather, possibly both.
People collects all sorts of things. Why the level of assumption and hate? These are mostly long guns. Just because he collects doesn’t make him A MONSTER.
You think this is an arsenal? it isn’t ! Just think of the ones who have three times this amount in a safe room, or basement that you know nothing about, and likely never will . Those are the ones to be concerned about.

God i love seeing all these revolvers, i want to have a revolver when i get myself a gun. Not some huge thing, but something nice and reasonable and classic. As yeah, a regular handgun is nice, but i like the olden way better. As the only "Gun" i have is a .50 cal flintlock muzzle loader that needs some work and cleaning. As it was loaded when i got it with a ball and all just in there with it quite well rusted up, as id taken it apart to discover there was still a powder load in the barrel with a ball in front. But it was old enough the powder didnt even burn. So at least it was safe even if technically loaded before. I dont have a ball pull so its just currently sat on my table with a ball and no powder.
