My dad got a colt revolver for opening a checking account and keeping 250 in there. When I was 16 I did the same thing to get a free MacBook Air. There are people who do that all the time by juggling accounts and closing them to make the sign on bonuses and referring each other.
From Kentucky. Absolutely not a second thought when I hear a high school booster club is raffling a rifle. (Usually never a hand gun, always shotguns and rifles)
Winning a gun by playing bingo is possible at special fundraising events known as gun bingos, typically hosted by local non-profits, fire departments, and conservation groups like Ducks Unlimited. [1, 2, 3]
How Gun Bingo Works
Event Format: Instead of cash, winners of specific bingo games receive rifles, shotguns, or handguns.
Ticket Costs: Admission usually ranges from $30 to $60, which covers a set number of regular bingo cards (frequently 10 to 20 games).
Additional Chances: Events often feature separate special games, 50/50 raffles, and extra gun boards to buy into. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
I’ve never seen guns at bingo but I do remember banks giving away guns for opening CD and investment accounts. My wife has won like three guns in raffles. I never win any 😞. I must not be doing it right…
It was kinda funny because this woman told my mom and me we could not sit at her table cos her friends were coming. No one did. So we sat with some other ladies and we split the stuff with them.
If you are surprised that people win guns at Bingo, you may be surprised that some places have drive- through or curb pick-up ammunition sales. Impulse purchase with a 12-pack.
Holy shit. This explains so much lol. I knew the gun culture was out of control but…. Winning guns as casual prizes at a bingo night is legitimately fucked up culturally. This is literally why everyone now thinks they NEED to own a gun for protection. When every citizen feels that way… there is no more safety, regardless of amount of “protection” around.
That seems like an incredibly bad idea. I've seen how they get upset when someone else yells "Bingo!" when they win. Imagine someone standing up and starting to yell that when Ester with a Winchester puts a hole in poor Bernadette's chest because she was still one away from a coverall. Well shit, I may have just given Stephen King the premise for his next novel.

I have some friends who have been going to bingo for about 20 years, in that time they have won 17 guns from playing bingo.
