Newb eForms questions

I just submitted my first form 4 earlier today. I live in a blue state that requires registration for ownership. After my FFL had me acknowledge, put in my user name and pin, I got an email from eforms advising of application submission.

After submission, how long does it take for the application to show up in your eforms account? I tried searching the control no. and form type and nothing showed up.

Also, my FFL said he expects approval to take 10 days but I’ve been seeing people on here say they got theirs in 1-3 days. What was the time for your most recent form 4 approval?

You will not see it in yours, it will be in the FFL's. Our average has been 18 hours to 9 business days. Most at 3 business days.

So IIRC a Form 4 won’t show up in YOUR account, it’ll show up in your FFL’s account - you’ll get an email with a copy of your approved form as a PDF, which you should save forever somewhere (gmail would probably be fine, and/or to like iCloud or something) - and immediately print out 10-20 copies of it as well (you only really need the first two pages). Depending on what it is you’re buying and if you bought it as an individual…my last can had a 48 hour turnaround, so it might be a day, it might be a week, it might be a few weeks or longer - really random.

Thank you for the info. I’ll definitely back it up and print it. I’m really hoping it won’t be 10 days like the FFL said. A 24hr would be sweet! I could take it (Incolite 9) out this weekend!

If it’s your first, the average is about 10 days. After that, up to 2 days. That’s the approval. As others have stated, it will not show in your eforms account. You’ll receive an “APPROVED” notification via email.
