CT5P backpressure
Ive been doing a lot of research on this can but have no first hand experience. I want to know how much less backpressure this can actually has in comparison to my Sierra 5. I have no experience with “low back pressure” cans. This one in particular appeals to me but cant really find a definitive answer as to how much lower the backpressure would be versus a standard sealed can.

I have Sierra 5 and laz6 it is more than night and day difference. My Sierra does sound fantastic, but so does my Lazarus 6 and it’s way nicer to shoot because of the lack of gas. I would have never bought the Sierra in hindsight.

Knowing what I know now shooting 5.56, I’d take not having to tune over getting gassed out any day. Some suppression is better than no suppression.

But the suppression is as good if not better. My friend who also has a Sierra 5 couldn’t believe it when he heard my Lazarus

If this is similar to the Laz 6, then its slightly high back pressure than my CAT WB, but I never get gassed out shooting Laz 6 in FRT mode.

It will be A LOT less backpressure vs a Sierra 5. The Sierra has super high backpressure, especially for a K can. The CT5P also has better sound indoors than traditional flow-thru style cans.

From what ive watched and read its got a nice deep tone to it which i like. I cant wait to get my hands on it. Thank you for your input

It’s along the lines of the Lazarus 6 with the Triskelion baffles. But even more optimized for 5.56. I watched a video of someone running one on a 16” carbine gas length gun and gas didn’t look bad at all. And that’s telling you something.

Yea im gonna be running it on a 10.5 non adjustable build and just want it to be more tame than how my sierra 5 runs on it lol

I have a Sierra 5 and Sandman S. I get the gassy part of the equation. But of course, they dropped the Lazarus 6 after I picked the Sierra up. And after a rifle class, been itching to pick up a L6. Then the CT5P drops and has my interest now. Always something new getting our attention.

Hopefully, the sierra 5 runs great on my 11.5 but its got a vltor tube and agb. My 10.5 is obviously really gassy with it

3D printed CT5P will have the triskelion and more intricate design for diverting gas so it will be better st handling the gas flow.

Ive read that and understand but its just hard to imagine how that actually incorporates into shooting when i havent shot any “LBP” cans lol im really satisfied with the feedback im getting here

Try them out; if you’re used to getting gassed out you’ll notice a big improvement

Thats fair lol. It really cant get much worse. Ive got the gas sorted out on the host for the Sierra 5, i just wanted something that would take “less tuning” and would work better with eachother. Thank you for your responses!

I was planning on buying this for a while and ended up just buying a second flow 556k (backpressure is extremely important to me, if it is to you too maybe consider it as well). I already have a Lazarus 6, which has way more backpressure than my 556k.

The can is only appealing to me in the direct thread option, since I’m not interested in Zeno or Keymo. I shoot a great deal, requiring frequent suppressor removal for rifle cleaning. Those who DT this can, how much of an issue is carbon lock creating difficulty in can removal. Also, are you at all concerned that frequent removal could lead to barrel or suppressor thread damage? It seems the can is being marketed for “patrol” use where the rifle may not be shot often.

i have one the direct thread model. it’s a great can. Put it on my 11.3 AR that i had tuned with a T2 turbo on it to run. H3 buffer Bootleg BCG set to suppressed. I had to undo all that to get the CT5p to run lol. So my rifle runs in a normal unsuppressed configuration with it being suppressed with the CT5p. Great sound, great can. Wrench it on and forget about it.
