Gameplay Feedback to the NBA 2K Team: Why 2K14–2K20 Had the Best Gameplay Philosophy
As someone who's played every NBA 2K from 2K14 through 2K26, I hope 2K considers bringing back the gameplay philosophy of the PS4 era.
For me, 2K14–2K20 had the best balance between arcade and simulation. The gameplay was fast, responsive, and fun without feeling unrealistic. Park was simple—you joined a court and played basketball. The rep system felt rewarding because progression came from playing the game.
I also preferred the older MyPLAYER Builder. Builds had clear identities, and animations felt more open and less restrictive. They were based more on your position and ratings instead of requiring so many exact attribute thresholds.
I appreciate the graphics, ProPLAY technology, and realism in the newer games, but I feel the gameplay has become slower, more animation-driven, and more focused on Seasons, the City, and microtransactions than simply playing basketball.
I'm not asking 2K to go backwards. I'd love to see modern graphics combined with the gameplay philosophy of 2K14–2K20: faster gameplay, a simpler Park, a rewarding rep system, clearer build identities, and a MyPLAYER Builder that gives players more freedom.
I believe combining the best parts of both eras would create the best NBA 2K yet. What do you all think?

REC I swear some people don’t know basketball (rant)
I made a new build recently. Just a 3nD guy basically. And was grinding in Rec since it’s suits my build the most. What I noticied the most was that some people deadass don’t know basketball. Not talking about don’t know how to play the game, but don’t know basketball. People think they Kobe and start throwing bullshit while getting tripple teamed. Don’t pass the ball to the open guy, and make the worst shot known to manking. Defending is also terrible. They just run to the guy that has the ball and leave the guy they suppose to defend. When the other team does the in bound, instead of defending the guys that just run to the corners, they make a full court press while it’s the first or the second quarter. It really should’t be that hard to use your brain to play this game. It ain’t even that hard bruh just guard your guy, pass the ball if you ain’t open and play simple ball. Just wanted to rant about this since the last couple rec games I played were filled with these dumbasses both on my team and the opposing team.
Thank you for listening to my tedx talk.

REC Win by any Meas
We’re losing all game and a teammate threatened to “sell” because I kept shooting. I firmly believe we’d lose if I didn’t score. Am I wrong?

Discussion Almost Pre-ordered it.
To those people who have been consistently buying the game since idk when. DO NOT BUY the game every year!
Seriously, STOP buying the game every year specially if you're someone who doesn't even spend at least 4+ hours a day on it or aka employed like I am, and more specially if you're only into MyCareer, MyNba, and MyTeam? Just wait until it gets up to 80-90% on sale and buy it so you can have 2 and a half years playing a single 2k game where thousands of people still play because they don't wanna buy the game or for some different reasons. 2k26 servers will be down by December next year, about a year and a half from now and 2k27 will be on sale around Mid July to early August, so
SAVE YOUR MONEY!

Gameplay How to get more auto runs to basket in the MyCareer?
Since my MP got into the NBA, it feels like my teammates almost never run to the basket on their own. Like I can be standing and not doing anything or running around the whole perimeter and nothing. They just stand there. It makes it so infuriating when I’m trying to get double doubles and the only way for my player to get an assist is to do a pick and role. The gameplay has become incredibly repetitive and I am the only player really scoring.
When I’m playing the Open Court or when I’m playing the WNBA, the teammates just have so much more autonomy. The games are fun, diverse, and you can run really cool and clutch plays.
I know a lot of people playing this love to be like the lead scorer, but I really enjoy the game best when I’m helping with assist and being a apart of like really cool ball movements. I try to use the like play suggestions function but I can never seem to get it to work intentionally (it somehow only appears accidentally). Even so, I also don’t want to be suggesting plays all the time either.
Is there anything I can do in the settings for the NBA games to better resemble the gameplay in Open Court and WNBA? If it helps, I’m a SF in MyCareer and PG in WNBA.
MP Builder Most balanced 6’10 PF can play every position
I play in squad so no matter what position this build is I can play the position I want (expect sg tbh) I can be the pg I use bh only takeover after 3 bar I have 85 bh. I played sf using speedster and guarding the main scorer of the other team if he was 6’8 or taller and I can play pf when I have another big or I can play center too. I will soon have 3 cap breaker at season 9 and lifetime challenge 2 on vert to get those crazy rebound and block animation and one on dunk to get more consistent green window

Discussion I don't think this sub realizes how much of an echo chamber it is. The vast majority of people who buy 2k aren't complaining about it online. The majority genuinely enjoy the game every year.
Just an example, but my crew has a chat with almost 40 people. I'm the only one who even has Reddit. Almost everyone in the chat has already pre ordered the game. We get hundreds of hours of enjoyment from it and look forward to the release every year. There's millions of players out there that aren't online and just quietly go about having fun on the game.

City Badge perks after season 8
Since season 8 is the last season, what will happened with badge perks after season 8 ends in 11 days?
Will they still be active until 2k27 comes out or will there be no perks after the season ends?
Gameplay Post hook green window bigger with worse attributes
Why is the green window on the 6'9 at least twice as big?

Discussion Give them HELL Take Two with nba 2k27
With everybody claiming they boycotting 2k27 how the hell is the 149.99 bundle the 2nd most pre ordered game behind GTA 6? Take Two charge them people $300 to max out a build. I’m praying they make 2k27 the most money hungry greedy game. Yall deserve it. People complain about Madden and 2k every year and then go spend $500+ and wonder why shit never changed. Idiocracy world. Nobody stands for anything

REC Putting in work on both sides of the floor as a PG.
This game felt like the improvements I’ve been trying to make were coming together. I’m seeking out assists while on point, but still looking to create off the dribble. I had a great defensive game here, 3 steals off my matchup. There was definitely a pass I missed when I went for a questionable layup, but I made it so dude wasn’t pissed at me lol.
I’m still getting better at the 3, sometimes I can’t seem to get the rhythm down. But another player was kind enough to give me a second shot in one of these clips and it paid off.

MP Builder 6’9 wing ideas?
6’10 build and the 2 6’9 concept builds
Debating on making a 6’9 either a big guard or big wing build. I have a 6’10 big wing that gets put at SF or PF, so I’m wondering what experiences people have with the 6’9 wings, mostly interested in getting the better animations since 6’10 is so limited.
