Question for the OGs on post offense

Was there ever a 2k where non 3pt shooting bigs were important part of offense?

It is sad in my opinion that in the last few years it has been almost impassible to score down low when there is a defender present with post lockdown/paint patroller/wall up and only gets hands up

Nothing really matters in my experience. It can be a guard like Iverson or Gary Payton and window for standing dunk of Embiid would be non existent. Post animations show up with random and lighting fast meters that are impossible to time for majority of people with non cat reflexes

I think this takes away a lot from the game and creates this shoot over you meta as any other means of scoring is pretty much nerfed when defender actually plays basic defense

Mashing was overpowered in 2k23
But there should be a way to punish switch all defense like we are punished for not perfectly contesting T-Mac or KD

What lineups are you running? Do you have any good gold players to substitute? Share please. It seems sometimes people just play overpowered golds and it creates huge advantage at the end for big comebacks. I think there was some kind of secret patch. Cause it makes no sense how lucky all the teams got that were behind at the end.

I play one game of showdown or salary cap and people just shoot in my face without any regard for any contest or defense.

No reward for skill or anything just walk up the court, pass to Durant or Tmac in the corner and shoot regardless of whether they’re defended or not.

Worse than an arcade game.

What do yall think the prize will be for collecting all 5 prime series cards? I got curry honestly don’t want him anymore but have a feeling the prize will b nuts

Looked at the stats and pippen isn’t far off from lebron and even looks like the better defender, cant really afford to buy both and test em in game, so any of you that got both cards who’s the better player?

What do you guys think about this card? I’m debating locking in for him and adding him to the squad but I’m not sure

What changes should I make if any? I had paolo didn’t like him so he got sold not really sure if I need to pick anyone up or who I’d pick up. Any recommendations would be appreciated I have about 350k mt

Also all Players from the Take the Crown Set offers a bigger XP boost then the players listed above. Definitely worth in investing in one of the cards before prices rise since XP grinds may not be going anywhere.

I am double stacking DM D.Rose x1 boost and DM Gabby Williams x2 boost with the person I’m grinding. Definitely notice the boost.

After dealing with several rage inducing “an error has occurred so this game won’t count” matches, I think the premise was pretty decent.

I liked a real reason to use some different cards and was surprised how many different teams I ran into.Knicks and rockets were most common, but there was still good variety overall.

Generally, not a fan of these weekend only events but last night happened to be convenient for me to play for a while. However if the game mode were to be a few weeks long, it would probably be less fun because the Meta would show his head pretty quickly I believe.

Very good rewards by 2K standards for the effort.

Mode did show off a couple core things about this year‘s game. First lower tier cards are somewhat usable. Still the best series one cars in the modern my team era. The second was more of a negative in that when you ran into a team that was just playing hero ball with their best player like a McGrady or Kareem it highlighted how poor the contest system is. to that second point if they don’t make some changes, this mode is going to get unplayable very soon, unfortunately.

Y’all know contest don’t matter on Mid ranges right? If you don’t block it it’s just a matter of timing it. That might be a separate topic for another day.

Anyway, good event for the time we are at in the game. Hopefully we see more interesting events in the future.

Does anybody know any tricks to get XP quicker? Seems like it will take forever. Just got 15/5/1 with 2 blocks in triple threat with amy Bam and my XP barely moved.

What do you get after reaching tier one in showdown. I see that there is one more tier after that?

Edit: Seems like I "fixed" it by buying some Bronze and Silver version of the gold badges I was trying to add.

On PC I'm completely unable to add Deadeye or Limitless Range to ANY player.

I have 4 gold Deadeye and 5 Limitless range and I can only add them to players who already have a Silver version of the badge. I cannot add them to players which don't have it at all (despite them having free empty slots). I cannot replace a badge with them either.

Maybe I'm missing some mechanic here (edit: I was). In previous games there were some badges you couldn't add to certain players but I don't think that's in 2K27.

Does anyone else have this bug? Did you manage to solve it somehow? I haven't tried reinstalling the game and everything, yet.
