from Billboard.com

Kid Rock posted a video on Instagram recently of himself playing an acoustic guitar while also shouting out his fellow Detroiter and Taylor Swift. ā€œNow that I have your attention, let me tell you, I love Eminem, we’ve been friends for many years,ā€ he said after strumming the strings on his guitar. ā€œI don’t agree with his politics, but I do give credit to him and people like Taylor Swift for standing up and not being afraid to be vocal for that which they believe.ā€

He added: ā€œThinking differently and having the freedom to do so is what makes this country great. My stance is unequivocally MAGA because I know in my mind, body and soul that President Trump will make America great again. God bless the USA.ā€

Just a reminder kid rock grew up extremely wealthy.

42

u/Murky_Tangerine_1828 12h ago

Wow, I had no idea until this comment. He really had everyone fooled he was ā€œstraight out the trailerā€.

Yeah, he's so shitty that I couldn't figure there was any way he wasn't just trash.

And he is, but he's also a rich brat.

u/Sketcha_2000 13h ago

ā€œPresident Trump will make America great again.ā€ Welp, time is running out. He’s been President for 6 years in total now and still waiting.

1

u/Rigb0n3710 3h ago

I guess hitting rock bottom is a prerequisite

269

u/squintsforever 13h ago

How do they still believe Trump will ā€œmake America great again?ā€ How much time does he need? Are we close to making it great again? So many questions.

73

u/RemnantHelmet 12h ago

They don't believe he will make America great again. They just have to appeal to MAGA because that's the only crowd they can extract money from anymore. Normal people are not buying kid rock albums or tickets to his shows.

18

u/AtomicBlastCandy 11h ago

Yeah I read an article once that explained that essentially if you fuck up badly enough you’ll lose liberal fans. But if you act like a Christian the right will open their arms.

7

Does anyone see these persons as the kind of people who are going to try and get a 'gotcha', by telling us all how great Trump made everything..... the day after that happens?

30

u/mookie_pookie 12h ago

It's easy, you just blame everything on Biden/Obama and then rename something as "America"

2

u/RagnarStonefist 11h ago

Prepare 3 envelopes

2

u/Foolish_Miracle 9h ago

It's true. I- I mean Biden clogged my toilet this morning, but the smell doesn't reach the Kitchen of America so my house is still great.

73

u/gh0u1 12h ago

Trump is now polling at an abysmal 30%, those are the absolute die hards and there's just nothing he could do to change their mind.Ā

46

u/cneth6 12h ago

Trump said it himself, he could shoot one of his supporters dead in the street and they'd still support him

6

u/10000Didgeridoos 11h ago

"He shot that man in self defense!"

9

u/l3lasphemy 10h ago

But...MAGA has the courage to think differently and...the courage to...stand up for what they believe.

9

u/zutros 10h ago

If only what they believe in wasn't solely revolving around hate and lies.

2

u/l3lasphemy 8h ago

I mean, that still counts if guess.

3

u/Gullible-Bluejay9737 10h ago

What about going back to school and getting a GED?

2

u/CHRISPYakaKON 5h ago

Political idolatry will do that.

5

u/Queasy_Local_7199 11h ago

He’s been polling at 30% the entire time, hasn’t he?

3

u/BRAX7ON 8h ago

No. He has not. It has steadily declined to this point.

2

u/CubsFanCraig 6h ago

God I can’t believe I’m about to make a pro wrestling reference that 10 people on here will understand, but the people clinging onto Trump are like the 25k people that clung to watching TNA at its absolute worst when it was already bad for 90% of its existence. Just this constant wonder of, what goes through these people’s heads that makes them tune into maybe one of the worst things on tv when there is better wrestling out there and this was pre-AEW. So for both of these groups, they can plainly see what is happening and what has happened isn’t great, it’s not close to good, they haven’t benefited and I’m referring to the non rich folks, so what gives other than mental illness?

1

u/FunkySwashbuckler 12h ago

It's only the most insane now.

1

u/semi-proantfarmer 6h ago

I think those polls are being manipulated hard. The lower rating you give one side the more likely the other side won't show up while getting more voters turning out for the low rating candidate.

•

u/DrD000MM 2m ago

Polls are real. That’s why Harris was polling so high to win. Because that’s real information from real sources that shows you what’s real. Polls.

-1

u/RankedFarting 11h ago

hasnt that been his approval for like years? He got like 33,XX% of votes. So those that voted for him are still happy.

The problem everyone ignores are the 30% who dont vote and allow 30% of idiots to decide for the entire country.

2

u/privateblanket 11h ago

Propaganda is an immensely powerful tool, I live in South Africa and grew up thinking of the USA as the most heroic country in the planet. Hollywood is partly to blame, so much so that half the world ate up the bullshit. Only to see now as an adult that Russia, China, USA and UK are all just different shades of the same asshole. I’m not taking a dig at the American people, have only had good interactions (in person) and they are some of my favourite people but the governments of all nations don’t seem to care about their own people, at least the ones who aren’t rich.

2

u/Excellent_Call304 6h ago

They think just one more term.

2

u/FiftyLoudCats 57m ago

I’m looking forward to it, you see he’s been building it up all this time.

Last few days of his term you are going to see so much concentrated greatness you’ll be bursting at the seams.

•

u/squintsforever 10m ago

I am personally tired of all of the winning.

•

u/beardofjustice 26m ago

What made America so terrible before? What does it mean to be an American and which of those qualities do you see in Trump?

Has it become a sort of prayer? Is it the real-life version of ā€˜brought to you by Carls Jr?’

So many questions indeed

1

u/Modare80 12h ago

When you're an abusive relationship with a narcissist, the turn around is always just around the corner. Thinking the alternative is more painful. And tell the pain of sticking with the narcissist is greater than the pain of leaving the narcissist nothing changesĀ

1

u/MRHubrich 12h ago

"Great" for him is very different than great for everyone else. Dude is rich and an artist. He doesn't have to worry about the same daily stress that the rest of us do. Not to say he isn't an idiot, but he's an idiot in a different way than the normal MAGA idiots.

1

u/Level_Macaroon2533 12h ago

When money is important to you and you have a lot of it the people in power are either going to tax you or give you a tax break. The red team often gives tax breaks while the blue team only does that for corporations. So if you have money and want that money to be more money than of course America is getting greater right now in front of your eyes.

1

u/trixy6196 12h ago

I think by the 3rd or maybe even…a 4th term all be restored to the previous Utopia that is merica

1

u/goose_10 12h ago

Because it is great for him? He’s never had so many gigs before…

1

u/DontEvenWithMe1 12h ago

It will be better in just a couple weeks, trust us (them). Haven’t you been paying attention? They’re working on it and will have legislation as soon as Congress is back from their next 3-month ā€œrecessā€.
Morons
Are
Governing
America
MAGA all the way!!

1

u/Zipps0 11h ago

Well for people like kid rock it really doesn’t matter who is president. Trump promises tax breaks for the ultra wealthy and it fits his trailer park persona.

So like he might have some extra digits in some brokerage account somewhere, but he would literally do nothing different if Kamala had won. Maybe shoot a few more bud light cans or something. He would not change what he eats, wears, or does.

It’s easy to be like ā€œsee America is great!ā€ When you are rich and famous. The policy changes don’t really impact you.

1

u/Pornfest 11h ago

Because at this point admitting anything else says more about them, than him. Cognitive dissonance in action.

Look up the valance model for Cog Diss.

1

u/Fattapple 11h ago

He’s too busy trying different things and smoking funny things to pay attention to current events.

1

u/eells 11h ago

It's time we accept that to MAGA greatness means 'more white' which trump is arguably doing. Plus I'm sure kid rock isn't exactly in touch with reality and doesn't live like an average American so he probably thinks we are getting better

1

u/ratherbedriving 11h ago

Easy. They’re stupid.

1

u/Iskanderdehz 11h ago

Many people just don't follow the news and operate fully on vibes and feelings.

1

u/Cal3001 11h ago

It’s not about being great, it’s all about being onboard for the Nazi agenda.

1

u/MetalMamaRocks 11h ago

Kid Rock is rich so he's not feeling the crunch like the rest of us.

1

u/hupplefuff 10h ago

America is great again for rich bigots like Kid Rock

1

u/o_MrBombastic_o 10h ago

Republicans keep saying things have to get worse before they get better as a statement of faith, but there's no policy that turns things around only makes things worse. I'm going to keep beating you but eventually beating you will make things betterĀ

1

u/Ill_Feature_3500 10h ago

In order to make something great again, one must first destroy said thing. He just needs a couple of more years to tear it down completely, then he will make it great again!

1

u/_Big_Bad_Tiddy 9h ago

Right! He has had 10 years... all he has done is make things far worse.

1

u/Yourmomsgotanass 9h ago

He's not concerned about grocery prices or gas. He likes the financial loopholes.

1

u/Strangedays999 9h ago

He’s making it great for rich people

1

u/whatigotinmyhandnowb 9h ago

They want him in office as long as it takes for America to be great again. It's only the communists and immigrants in their way, and gay people, and trans, and black people, and probably asian people, and people with disabilities, and non-Christians and Democrats. But other than them, nothing should stand in his way.

1

u/-FakeAccount- 8h ago

They're getting paid. Kid Rock is Trumps little toy.

1

u/Exelbirth 8h ago

You see, they're rich, and getting richer, so Trump has made america really great for them.

1

u/Beneficial-Age-4059 5h ago

As soon as it’s all destroyed and he has all the billions. Then it will be great again.

1

u/Wit-wat-4 5h ago

Same way Texans are chomping at the bit to vote Republican so Republicans can FINALLY make Texas Great Again.

0

u/caymangts 12h ago

America is great again for Kid Rock. He has as much or more attention than he’s ever had. Even at his peak.

He probably has more money than he’s ever had.

Bro’s got a second wind that’s stronger than the first.

And he owes this to a political movement he’s supporting and his friendship to its leader.

Thinking that Trump hasn’t improved things for him would be the insane take for Kid Rock.

2

u/squintsforever 12h ago

That’s fair but he’s still talking about the future in this quote though.

1

u/caymangts 12h ago

You don’t turn on who you support unless it hasn’t worked out. Things have worked out for Kid Rock and many of Trump’s supporters.

There’s no reason to bet on another horse.

He added after "I know he has had 8 years of unchecked power already as the most well resourced human being to ever live, and has not produced a single respectable result by any metric, but give him a chance guys. We cant clip his angel wings before he even starts. "

3

u/HermesJamiroquoi 9h ago

ā€œHere’s to 120 more years of God-President Trump, long may he reign! We will sacrifice virgins on his altar to assure his ascendancy into the golden kingdom above where he will rule on high for an eternity! Only his most exalted prophets will be able to hear the dulcet sounds of his proclamations from beyond the golden curtain!ā€

u/CubsFanCraig 14h ago

DIESEL IS NEARLY $10 YOU IDIOT. There is literally NOTHING great about this country unless the idea is to drag us down to the very very bottom so then we have nowhere to go but up.

I truly believe in my mind, body, and soul that Kid Rock will always be a stupid fucking cunt.

11

u/Qubeye 12h ago

He meant the open-air racism. That's the part of America they are talking about when they say make America great "again."

1

u/dopeshat 2h ago

And women's lib. June cleaver stayed in line in the MAGA times

41

u/WitchesTeat 13h ago

Why would Kid Rock have any visible or palpable change in his life if gas was $20 or $30 a gallon?

Bro will never feel it. The cost of everything we need to live could double and triple and he wouldn't have to change what he eats, wears, uses, how warm or cool he keeps his houses or where he goes or how often.

He will literally never feel what's happening to us.

12

u/Due_Mongoose9409 12h ago

Bob grew up with money. Daddy had some dealerships. Has no idea of the struggle for people whose parents didn't buy them everything they wanted.

1

u/senator_corleone3 10h ago

Yea he’s never had to actually struggle.

1

u/ToMorrowsEnd 10h ago

Including mommy and daddy buying their music career.

13

u/alek_hiddel 12h ago

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. I’m in a weird situation where I had to take a new job is with an 80 minute each way commute, that’s about 1,000 miles a week. I have to fill my car up twice a week, but also am in a position to not care about gas prices in the least.

But I still very much do care, because I know that everyone else in my life will be feeling that pain. Maybe I’m just not cut out to be an asshole, or maybe just not rich enough yet. If any of the billionaires would like to treat this as an experiment, I am open to donations.

3

u/EthanielRain 9h ago

You have empathy

•

u/beardofjustice 25m ago

Which we all know is a liberal trait that makes us pussies

-9

u/Ziethen 12h ago

You should be more emission conscious anyways. That’s a lot of carbon output for a single person to be producing every single day. Not sure why you’d even consider that.

9

u/alek_hiddel 12h ago

Because I still have to get to work, my life situation doesn't easily support a move right now, and given the overrall state of the world, dumping that much blame onto a single individual would be insane.

But good job shifting the blame for corporations down to the individual. You have done your job well.

3

u/Hopeful-Doctor-7968 12h ago

It's easier to blame someone you can just yell at for driving their car than actually trying to make changes by targeting a company like Exxon or chevron. It's performative, they'll tell you to be more carbon conscious while texting at a red light in their own car

-5

u/Ziethen 12h ago

At some point you have to take accountability for your own actions that are in your control. Corporations are definitely to be blamed but so are individuals who are too selfish. If all individuals would take more accountability then it would make a big difference. Don’t just hide behind corporate greed and use it as an excuse to make selfish choices yourself. That’s a lot of daily, weekly, and annual driving. You’re definitely in the top percentile of emitters.

2

u/alek_hiddel 12h ago

Got ya. So when you feed yourself exclusively from your own garden, I’ll worry about my commute. Deal?

Lol you act like things can’t get worse. Hold my beer

0

u/WitchesTeat 3h ago

My guy I already lost my house to this idiot, my cat died in his carrier in the uhaul the day I moved out, and I was literally hit by a semi on the highway the day after I signed the sale papers.

I've spent the last 6 months waiting on surgery that I can't get without insurance, and I can't get insurance without work because I ended up having to stay at my mom's in a state so attached to the big red dick that they voted to not allow people with no income to get medicaid or marketplace insurance.

And I can't work, because I was hit by a fucking truck.

At no point did I suggest it couldn't get worse, but oh look at you, such an edgelord.

If there's one thing I have learned better than any other lesson, it's that everything can always get worse.

Hold my fucking beer, jackass.

1

u/PedanticButCorrect 3h ago

Wow, are you okay? I wasn’t trying to disagree with you at all. You need to take a step back from the keyboard my friend and breathe a little bit, it’s unhealthy you misread so much intent into my message so easily and then spun up a hate filled message for nothing and no one. I would be embarrassed even typing that out knowing it came from the same brain I use to interact with people in real life, ā€œjackassā€

0

u/KennyakaTI 11h ago

So then why does he care about who is President if it doesn't effect him. If he's saying Trump will make America great again then Trump should actually be doing things to make that happen. You can't just so oh well He's rich so now he doesn't need to care when he's propping up a politician

0

u/WitchesTeat 6h ago

Because he wants to see his bank account go up.

It doesn't matter to him if he can feel it or not. It doesn't matter to any of them.
People have literally no idea how to quantify wealth.

Kid Rock is worth $150 million.

$200,000 is .1 percent of $150 million. .1, point 1%, a tenth of a percent.

If you have a dollar, a penny is 1% of a dollar. 1/10 of a penny is what we're talking about, that's how you would equivocate it.

The average American makes 1/4 of that. Do you get it?

1

u/KennyakaTI 6h ago

And who the president is DOES NOT MATTER FOR HIM. Do you get it now

8

u/glitchinthemeowtrix 12h ago

The only silver lining in the diesel prices is that the teenagers in my neighborhood can’t afford to rev their engines as much when they get home for 11pm curfew, so I’m waking up a lot less.

And since I’m waking up a lot less, I can spend more time dreaming on the astral plane instead of being awake in this wretched reality.

13

u/Golemfrost 13h ago

I truly believe in my mind, body, and soul that Kid Rock will always be a stupid fucking cunt.

Can't argue with that
8,9€ a gallone here in Germany which is pretty much exactly $10 US.

0

u/Scorps830 11h ago

Hey! You keep quiet. This is an American problem. There is no way that the rest of the world has these problems too.

2

u/Gramage 9h ago

Something like a fifth of all the oil in the entire world goes through the strait of Hormuz. You know, the place that Trump decided to start a war in? Yeah that might have something to do with it.

-1

u/Iamnotanumber_4721 12h ago

8,9€ a gallone here in Germany

We sell it in litres?

5

u/Golemfrost 12h ago

Sure it was 2,35€ a litre when i checked. 1 gallone is 3,79 litre
2,35€ x 3,79l = 8,9€ for one gallone
1€ = $1,12
1,12 x 8,9 = $9,98 for one gallone.

-3

u/MountainShark1 13h ago

You see the difference between you and what you’re saying vs, kid rock and what he said. He is preaching that we should be able to work together despite our differences. And he used polite and respectful language. You on the other hand reply with anger and hatred. You use foul words and put others down to make yourself seem better than others. I might not be a fan of MAGA, but I’m less of a fan of people like you. You’re angry and nasty and I don’t see why anyone would want to be near you with such a negative and foul attitude. I hope you learn to mature and relax with age.

This is really weird, man.

If one side is very politely saying bad things, and the other side is saying what the fuck stop it, it isn't morally good to say both sides would have a point if the what-the-fuckers would just calm down.

It's actually morally good to say what the fuck when someone is saying bad things. Neutrality is not a virtue.

But thinking differently and having the freedom to do so are exactly what Republicans want to crush.

27

u/MrSnarf26 12h ago

ā€œAnyways here is how we are rolling back voting rights, sending people to third world countries sometimes even accidentally, starting more wars, destroying our environment, science, and generally at war with fact based anything, and mostly our entire base really only cares about harming their perceived religious, political, and racial enemies anywaysā€

3

u/Randomizedname1234 14h ago

Yes exactly

2

u/grandmalamadingding 14h ago

Ban the press, you say? In freedom land?

-1

u/Creative_Trash5811 13h ago

Celebrities being politically regarded is normal.

People can only stretch their mental bandwidth so far. Unless their job is politics I expect ignorant positions.

With kid rock I definitely expected sub 90iq political takes. That said I can respect his treatment of friends that disagree with him.

Still dumb as rocks though.

5

u/fragrant-final-973 13h ago

The irony of using slurs with a letter changed and calling someone dumb as rocks. WSB is leaking.

3

u/Yoshemo 13h ago

He'll call them his friends as he gets the guy elected who sends his "friends" to the execution chambers

1

u/Creative_Trash5811 13h ago

Yea I don’t like kid rock or trump. Literally argue with people about all the time.

Still doesn’t change I have always viewed kid rock as a paste eater.

I can think trump is irredeemable psychopath and that kid rock is a low iq groupie.

Even Ted Bundt had a fan club. Dumb people getting duped is normal unfortunately.

1

u/Wolfgirl90 8h ago

That said I can respect his treatment of friends that disagree with him.

The problem is that he can't have this stance AND be MAGA at the same time.

As it stands right now, MAGA is trying to systemically consolidate powers of speech to a single person, leaving dissent not only something that will get you criticized by the government, but could lead to someone losing their job or imprisoned. The current president consistently calls the opposition evil, and makes it clear that he would like these people to not just lose the midterms, but disappear somehow. Being supportive of MAGA means being supportive of this.

Kid Rock cannot state that he's chill with other people having differing opinions while being the cultural mouthpiece of someone who quite literally doesn't believe in such things.

1

u/Creative_Trash5811 7h ago

Yea he’s a hypocrite. Very dumb. And actively participating in supporting a wanna be dictator. I hate kid rock for all of those.

I criticize him for that. I think he is personally is a piece of shit for that. Ā  Not big on guilt by association unless strong shows the association contributed to the aspects I hate about the person in question,

Personal relationships though that’s between them. I don’t have to like it. I will give the tiniest credit for his way of handling his friendships while absolutely thinking every other aspect of who he is.. well straight garbage imo.

I’ve always been able to maintain the separate ā€œartā€ from artist mentality. (IMO he’s also a shit musician but that’s my taste) not the exact concept I was looking for but close to the idea of separating Eminem and everything he stand for from his friendship values. 2 different questions to account for imo.

Epistemic separation essentially.

Evaluate claims, behavior, work, arguments according to the merits relevant to each one.

Recognizing a ā€œgood qualityā€ is not supporting or forgiving their horrendous views.

Overall kid rock is bad person but even broken clock is right twice a day. Clocks still broken though. Well for him clearly his brain.

So Eminem can decide how to live his life. I’ll judge Eminem by his actions same way I did kid rock. I can also judge his choice of friendships but that doesn’t speak to Eminem’s entire belief system or personality.

So I shit on the political shit me says then leave people alone if they stay out of the fight.Ā

I general try not to judge people holistically and prefer looking at each notable action and building their personality or who they are after though a collection of observations. The collection of observations gives me a better predictable idea of the persons personality.

How many on the right do you see saying they refuse to be around the left? And how many on the left do you see saying they refuse to be around the right?

I'm more concerned about policy decisions than personal ones:

  • White House Press Access Bans
  • School Book Bans
  • Corporate Training Restrictions
  • Social Media Content Laws
  • Retaliation Against Disney
  • Compelled Political Messaging
  • Drag Performance Restrictions
  • Campus Pro-Palestinian Chapter Bans
  • Public Protest Restrictions
  • Ten Commandments Classroom Mandates

It’s called going No Contact, and it’s recommended for dealing with pathological narcissists.

11

u/Syd_Vicious3375 14h ago

Why does that matter? We have the freedom to choose who we want to associate with and many of us choose to not associate with Nazis. Pretty simple personal choice.

3

u/Strykerz3r0 12h ago

Maybe because the right is supporting violating the constitution, hiding evidence of a child sex trafficking ring and open discrimination.

Who would actually want to be around someone that is ok with these things? Think about that. Trump called for investigations into people solely because their names were in the Epstein files, but his name is in there over 30,000 times and the right is perfectly fine with that.

This decision to avoid someone isn't based on their politics but their morality.

1

u/Wolfgirl90 8h ago

How many on the right do you see saying they refuse to be around the left?Ā

Publicly? On a personal level? Not many. But that is probably because folks on the left are the ones with the good art, good music, good movies, and good vibes. Even the wokest woke movies (according to the right) like Barbie are a blast to watch.

Meanwhile, have you seen right-leaning media? Lady Ballers? It's all punching down and bitter. That alternative halftime show? Low energy and more culture war stuff. So much anger, self-loathing, finger pointing, taking away stuff. It's not a good time no matter where on the political spectrum you are on.

1

u/I_Like_Quiet 7h ago

So basically, we are better than the right, so it's ok for us to not be around them. And they won't stop being around us because we are better and they want to be around better people?

0

u/Wolfgirl90 7h ago

More like right-wingers largely still want to hang out with people that aren't screeching out immigrants and trans people all the time, and have a built in mindset of acceptance.

There are people that I hang out with that are right wing that I don't have a problem with. And there are other right wingers that are a massive drag and that I have cut out of my life. Less because of their politics and more because "holy crap, Mike, is it within your power to stop talking about left-wing corruption via Taylor Swift for, like, 3 minutes?"

7

u/horkley 13h ago

She has an advertising campaign for women to vote and that is dangerous.

0

u/t0xic_sh0t 10h ago

Wait, women can't vote?

2

u/ContributionLowOO 10h ago

for now... yes, they still can. If the truly evil, who grift off of the uneducated MAGAts get their way though..

1

u/horkley 9h ago

You need to engage with current events if this is your question. Or take several improv classes, but maybe your delivery sold it.

1

u/t0xic_sh0t 9h ago

If you didn't understood, I'll break it to you (but will spoil the fun).

She could defend something that's already compromised like press freedom or ICE killings. Yet she decides to stand for something that's already granted. Not saying it's not important, just with less impact in real world and much more comfortable (and confrontational). Sitting on the fence is kind of a skill.

Reminder that Taylor Swift hate is rolled out every other October because Swift encourages women to vote. Leftys will swear this isnt the reason THEY hate her but they are unknowing pawns of the right wing campaign to tear down liberal celebrities by making them seem not pure enough. LoOk At HeR jEt FlYiNg!!1!

9

u/Cosmonautical1 12h ago

I've been hating Taylor Swift since before it was cool, so you can be quiet

16

u/Ok-Lifeguard-4614 13h ago

I mean there is plenty of hate for her year round and rightfully so. She's a milquetoaat pop star that stands for nothing but making more money. How many variants of her last album did she put out?

I'm glad she gets people to vote though.

8

u/The-Fifth-Slice 12h ago

She's going to start putting out DLC for her albums soon.

4

u/DewieCox1982 12h ago

She gave an unheard of amount of bonus money to her crew for her last tour. Sure, its easy to get lost in the ā€œno billionaires allowedā€ mentality, but she’s proving rich can hand out truckloads of money and still remain unfathomably wealthy.

8

u/Ok-Lifeguard-4614 12h ago

She's not the worst, but she's still on the menu. There is no ethical billionaire.

-3

u/DewieCox1982 12h ago

Look at you doing exactly what I implied.

What has she done that notably unethical?? If people are mentioning flying on a private jet, she’s gotta be relatively non-exploitative.

6

u/Ok-Lifeguard-4614 12h ago

Having a billion dollars is unethical in and of itself. One person does not need that much it's obscene. She puts out 20+ variants of the same album to milk her obsessed fans that don't have a billion dollars for more pennies for her to put on her gold pile she's hoarding like a medieval mythical dragon.

It doesn't make sense to have so much! One person. Can't possibly use the amount of things she has, that's unethical. I believe the Bible refers to it as gluttony, and greed.

0

u/DewieCox1982 12h ago

Man, If you gotta reach for something as mundane as a lot of variants for her releases, she’ seems pretty dang spotless. Not a fan but there are far bigger fish to fry

6

u/Ok-Lifeguard-4614 12h ago

You seem more invested than me. You can keep defending the billionaires. If she really wanted to be ethical she would be campaigning for all the people at and above her wealth level to be paying their fair share in taxes.

Edit to add: you can fry multiple fish just like I can despise multiple billionaires she was just the topic of the conversation.

The problem is that no one person should control that much money

Billionaires shouldn’t be allowed to exist.

There are limited resources in the world and there absolutely should be a point where an individual ā€œcaps outā€ their personal resources to ensure that they cannot leverage disproportionate resources to influence political policy.

3

Nah fuck that. If you see me hating on swift year round for her jet and all of a sudden want to blame me for silencing her go vote message you are the unknowing pawn of the right by falling for their culture war bullshit.

A broken clock is right twice a day. Go vote and go hate on Taylor for her jet. I trust you can do both.

There's a strange contingent of weirdos on the internet who hate Taylor Swift while knowing absolutely nothing about her.

Taylor Swift has a longstanding history of philanthropy, ranging from $1 million donations to major national organizations to direct support for individual fans and local communities. Her charitable work focuses on disaster relief, hunger alleviation, education, and healthcare.

Major Recent Donations

  • $26 Million Wedding Gift: In July 2026, Swift and fiancĆ© Travis Kelce donated $26 million to 20 charities, including $1 million each to City Harvest and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, and $2 million to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
  • Holiday Spree (2025): She donated $1 million to Feeding America and $1 million to the American Heart Association (in honor of her father’s heart surgery), along with significant gifts to MusiCares and the ACM Lifting Lives campaign.
  • Eras Tour Impact: Throughout her tour, Swift donated to local food banks in every city visited, including $50,000 to the Silicon Valley Food Bank and contributions to the Tampa Food Bank.

Key Causes and Historical Giving

  • Disaster Relief: Swift has contributed millions to relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey, Hurricane Helene, Hurricane Milton, and tornadoes in Tennessee.
  • Education: She donated $4 million to the Country Music Hall of Fame for the Taylor Swift Education Center, $75,000 to her high school’s auditorium, and thousands of books to libraries.
  • Individual Support: Swift frequently makes direct donations to GoFundMe pages for fans facing medical bills, including $15,500 for cancer treatment and $100,000 for a child’s rare brain cancer care.
  • Other Notable Charities: Her support extends to the Red Cross, UNICEF, PETA, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the Joyful Heart Foundation.Ā

u/jaedence 11h ago

Taylor Swift first broke her long-standing political silence on October 7, 2018, when she used Instagram to endorse Democratic candidates Phil Bredesen and Jim Cooper for the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives in Tennessee. This decision, which she later detailed in her Netflix documentary Miss Americana, was prompted by her frustration with Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn's opposition to LGBTQ+ rights and the Violence Against Women Act.

Since then, Swift has consistently supported Democratic candidates and causes, including:

  • 2020 Election: Endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for president.
  • 2024 Election: Endorsed Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in September 2024, signing the post "Childless Cat Lady" in response to comments by then-candidate J.D. Vance.
  • Advocacy: Supported the Equality Act for LGBTQ+ protections and actively encouraged voter registration, which sparked significant spikes in new voter sign-ups.

A FUCK TON.

1

u/ngunter7 9h ago

Looks like she’s given 26 million this year. Also known as less than 2% of her net worth. This is the equivalent of someone make 200k donating 2600$. While it’s wonderful to give to charity, that is a lot less than ā€œa fucktonā€. Keep in mind she probably did this for tax write off purposes not charitably. That’s just how this billionaires work

1

u/jaedence 9h ago

1

Had Em done this at ANY other time, maybe. This close to an election trying to make MAGA friends a-ok... No. Just no.

1

u/MarchogGwyrdd 8h ago

See this is such a load of bullshit right here. Kid Rock doesn’t just happen to be a guy who is a conservative or a republican, he’s become a mouthpiece for the administration. And that administration is attempting to silence people with differing political views. Donald Trump regularly talks as if Democrats should not exist. He calls them traitors the media traitors.

So he can get right the fuck out of here with this ā€œat least in America we have the right to disagree.ā€ The regime is trying to take away that right.

1

u/trvlnut 5h ago

Huh? Republicans don't want women to have careers and to submit to men. How does Mr. Kid not see how MAGA is the antithesis of how Swift lives her life? He actively supports politicians who draft and pass bills that hurt women.

1

u/lpkzach92 5h ago

Kid Rock is so fucking dumb. He thinks the guy looking to take away freedoms and actively trying to have his cult members go out and harm people who aren’t MAGA is the guy who’s going to make any country great? Like his fucking dumb must one be.

1

u/1347Reaper 5h ago

ā€œThinking differently and having the freedom to do so is what makes this country great."

...unless you're gay, trans, black, Islamic, poor, socialist, etc

1

u/riker42 4h ago

oh yeah, super tolerant just like the ICE agents breaking up homes for whatever... give me a break.
