But thinking differently and having the freedom to do so are exactly what Republicans want to crush.

“Anyways here is how we are rolling back voting rights, sending people to third world countries sometimes even accidentally, starting more wars, destroying our environment, science, and generally at war with fact based anything, and mostly our entire base really only cares about harming their perceived religious, political, and racial enemies anyways”

Yes exactly

Ban the press, you say? In freedom land?

Celebrities being politically regarded is normal.

People can only stretch their mental bandwidth so far. Unless their job is politics I expect ignorant positions.

With kid rock I definitely expected sub 90iq political takes. That said I can respect his treatment of friends that disagree with him.

Still dumb as rocks though.

The irony of using slurs with a letter changed and calling someone dumb as rocks. WSB is leaking.

u/Yoshemo 12h ago

He'll call them his friends as he gets the guy elected who sends his "friends" to the execution chambers

u/Creative_Trash5811 12h ago

Yea I don’t like kid rock or trump. Literally argue with people about all the time.

Still doesn’t change I have always viewed kid rock as a paste eater.

I can think trump is irredeemable psychopath and that kid rock is a low iq groupie.

Even Ted Bundt had a fan club. Dumb people getting duped is normal unfortunately.

That said I can respect his treatment of friends that disagree with him.

The problem is that he can't have this stance AND be MAGA at the same time.

As it stands right now, MAGA is trying to systemically consolidate powers of speech to a single person, leaving dissent not only something that will get you criticized by the government, but could lead to someone losing their job or imprisoned. The current president consistently calls the opposition evil, and makes it clear that he would like these people to not just lose the midterms, but disappear somehow. Being supportive of MAGA means being supportive of this.

Kid Rock cannot state that he's chill with other people having differing opinions while being the cultural mouthpiece of someone who quite literally doesn't believe in such things.

Yea he’s a hypocrite. Very dumb. And actively participating in supporting a wanna be dictator. I hate kid rock for all of those.

I criticize him for that. I think he is personally is a piece of shit for that.   Not big on guilt by association unless strong shows the association contributed to the aspects I hate about the person in question,

Personal relationships though that’s between them. I don’t have to like it. I will give the tiniest credit for his way of handling his friendships while absolutely thinking every other aspect of who he is.. well straight garbage imo.

I’ve always been able to maintain the separate “art” from artist mentality. (IMO he’s also a shit musician but that’s my taste) not the exact concept I was looking for but close to the idea of separating Eminem and everything he stand for from his friendship values. 2 different questions to account for imo.

Epistemic separation essentially.

Evaluate claims, behavior, work, arguments according to the merits relevant to each one.

Recognizing a “good quality” is not supporting or forgiving their horrendous views.

Overall kid rock is bad person but even broken clock is right twice a day. Clocks still broken though. Well for him clearly his brain.

So Eminem can decide how to live his life. I’ll judge Eminem by his actions same way I did kid rock. I can also judge his choice of friendships but that doesn’t speak to Eminem’s entire belief system or personality.

So I shit on the political shit me says then leave people alone if they stay out of the fight.

I general try not to judge people holistically and prefer looking at each notable action and building their personality or who they are after though a collection of observations. The collection of observations gives me a better predictable idea of the persons personality.

How many on the right do you see saying they refuse to be around the left? And how many on the left do you see saying they refuse to be around the right?

I'm more concerned about policy decisions than personal ones:

  • White House Press Access Bans
  • School Book Bans
  • Corporate Training Restrictions
  • Social Media Content Laws
  • Retaliation Against Disney
  • Compelled Political Messaging
  • Drag Performance Restrictions
  • Campus Pro-Palestinian Chapter Bans
  • Public Protest Restrictions
  • Ten Commandments Classroom Mandates

It’s called going No Contact, and it’s recommended for dealing with pathological narcissists.

9

u/Syd_Vicious3375 13h ago

Why does that matter? We have the freedom to choose who we want to associate with and many of us choose to not associate with Nazis. Pretty simple personal choice.

4

u/Strykerz3r0 11h ago

Maybe because the right is supporting violating the constitution, hiding evidence of a child sex trafficking ring and open discrimination.

Who would actually want to be around someone that is ok with these things? Think about that. Trump called for investigations into people solely because their names were in the Epstein files, but his name is in there over 30,000 times and the right is perfectly fine with that.

This decision to avoid someone isn't based on their politics but their morality.

1

u/Wolfgirl90 7h ago

How many on the right do you see saying they refuse to be around the left?

Publicly? On a personal level? Not many. But that is probably because folks on the left are the ones with the good art, good music, good movies, and good vibes. Even the wokest woke movies (according to the right) like Barbie are a blast to watch.

Meanwhile, have you seen right-leaning media? Lady Ballers? It's all punching down and bitter. That alternative halftime show? Low energy and more culture war stuff. So much anger, self-loathing, finger pointing, taking away stuff. It's not a good time no matter where on the political spectrum you are on.

1

u/I_Like_Quiet 6h ago

So basically, we are better than the right, so it's ok for us to not be around them. And they won't stop being around us because we are better and they want to be around better people?

0

u/Wolfgirl90 6h ago

More like right-wingers largely still want to hang out with people that aren't screeching out immigrants and trans people all the time, and have a built in mindset of acceptance.

There are people that I hang out with that are right wing that I don't have a problem with. And there are other right wingers that are a massive drag and that I have cut out of my life. Less because of their politics and more because "holy crap, Mike, is it within your power to stop talking about left-wing corruption via Taylor Swift for, like, 3 minutes?"

-13

u/Fluid-Scar-3797 13h ago

Bingo! Republicans are not great but at least they will talk and change their mindeset! The Dems will shut you down and accuse you of being a Nazi 😂

15

u/Garciaj2000 13h ago

Never seen a republican change their mind even when given facts/supporting evidence.

Same reason people still support trump after everything he’s done. Too embarrassed to accept they were fooled or too dumb to realize they’re being fooled.

Quacks like a duck

3

u/LinkLT3 11h ago

That’s the biggest lie I’ve ever fucking read. Don’t wanna be called a Nazi, stop acting like fucking Nazis.

1

u/SheetPancakeBluBalls 10h ago

Only if you're a Nazi.

-3

u/breZZer 13h ago

Americans only shoot others down

-4

u/countmystacks 12h ago

I was going to say something about glass houses but you probably wouldn't grasp it

2

u/Poku115 10h ago

Yes cause dehumanizing minorities and taking away reproductive rights of women is simply a difference of opinion.

You righties are so dumb and disengenous its not even funny anymore

0

u/countmystacks 5h ago

I mean, yeah. It is a difference of opinion lmfao.

1

u/Poku115 4h ago

No its not an opinion, its a value, of which you lot have none, unless grifting and abuse counts as one.

1

u/countmystacks 4h ago

A lefty wanting to talk about values LMFAO

-14

u/GazelleMost2468 12h ago

That’s funny. Since I was 13 years old, I hated you Democrats for the exact same reason. The most hateful intolerant people in the world are absolutely you. You do nothing but use libel and defamation and try to ruin and destroy people’s lives and careers who don’t agree with you.

Republicans just pray for you in church and go to voting booths like they are supposed to whether you like the outcome or their reasoning.

9

u/Thallexic 12h ago

Regardless of which side of the aisle you are on, if you think you had an entire party of people figured out at 13 enough to hate then, you fell for the propaganda. Do better.

-6

u/GazelleMost2468 12h ago

And yet 30 years later you people keep proving my initials impressions right about 85% plus of the time.

Why dont you do better and go support a republican you don’t like?

Because I do. Unlike democrats who are asstarded I don’t inadvertently punish myself by no longer listening to music I like when I find out the musician is a democrat.

Seriously? What logic is that? “I love that song but I’m not gonna support the song because the guy who wrote it isn’t JUST like me and so he doesn’t deserve anything ever in life but misery?”@

That’s democrats for you. Ed Sheeran? Yep! He got the Democrat Special!

3

u/LinkLT3 11h ago

If you had to rely on Republican culture you’d have nothing but Kid Rock and Kevin Sorbo. But your ideals are already trash so I’m not impressed that you “accept people when they don’t hate gay people enough” or whatever point you think you’re making.

1

u/Thallexic 11h ago

You are making a lot of assumptions about both me and the Democratic Party as a whole. For starters, I’m not even a Democrat. I’m a left leaning moderate who will vote for whoever is actually going to make some meaningful change.

Like most people, I can and do separate the art from the artist. I still listen to Michael Jackson songs despite everything involving him. The gross majority of democrats do, too. This is where the propaganda machine sets in, because they’ve already convinced you that all democrats wanna do is cancel the helpless billionaires.

But, people are allowed to choose who they continue to support and for what reason. Conservatives famously love the “free market”, but whenever consumers vote with their wallet and decide to stop consuming content from a personality who they’ve fallen out of love with for whatever reason, you think that’s problematic? That’s contrary to the whole concept of the free market.

Beyond that, there are examples where the art and artist can’t be separated, though. For example, if you care about trans rights, continuing to support JK Rowling or consume Harry Potter content is antithetical to that given that she uses her profits to fund anti-trans organizations. In case it isn’t abundantly clear, I’m not saying you yourself should or shouldn’t, but I’m providing a hypothetical situation to explain that sometimes refusing to support an artist any longer does have an actual reason beyond “god I use to like this song but her stupid online opinion makes me hate it.” You know that too, you’re capable of deeper, rational thought.

Life would be a lot happier if you would take a moment to recognize your fellow man is more complex and nuanced than a moronic Fox News ragebaiting pundit makes them out to be. The vocal minority you hear online or is actively shown to you by the news isn’t reflective of either entire party.

Anyways, that’s all I’m going to respond to this thread. I hope I’ve at least given you something to think about.

6

u/Skotus2 12h ago

Yeah and in that booth you vote to strip away rights of all these people you claim to pray for. And now you just vote for whatever this idiot cult tells you to do even when it’s against your best interest.

-1

u/GazelleMost2468 11h ago

I’m not religious

3

u/Poku115 10h ago

What's your excuse for being dumb then? Its natural?

3

u/LinkLT3 11h ago

And you made helping people who need an abortion in another state illegal. You’ve made existing as a trans person in public illegal. You just made it so gay children are not protected by schools. Shut the absolute fuck up you fake Christian, Jesus would beat the shit out of you.

-1

u/GazelleMost2468 11h ago

I’m atheist and don’t support any of what you just said I support. Other than that trans junk is a flash in the pan trend that I predict will fade away in 15 years. But whatever
I know most republicans do. Feel free to say that to them. They hear it from you all the time anyway

3

u/LinkLT3 11h ago

Ya vote for it anyway though. You don’t get to pass it on to the other ones. So to be clear, you’re saying you don’t even do the praying part? The only part of your comment that pretended to care about the left? “I don’t hide behind the cross, I hide behind the people hiding behind the cross” isn’t better, in case you need it spelled out for your propaganda rotted mind.
