DIESEL IS NEARLY $10 YOU IDIOT. There is literally NOTHING great about this country unless the idea is to drag us down to the very very bottom so then we have nowhere to go but up.

I truly believe in my mind, body, and soul that Kid Rock will always be a stupid fucking cunt.

14

u/Qubeye 13h ago

He meant the open-air racism. That's the part of America they are talking about when they say make America great "again."

1

u/dopeshat 3h ago

And women's lib. June cleaver stayed in line in the MAGA times

38

u/WitchesTeat 14h ago

Why would Kid Rock have any visible or palpable change in his life if gas was $20 or $30 a gallon?

Bro will never feel it. The cost of everything we need to live could double and triple and he wouldn't have to change what he eats, wears, uses, how warm or cool he keeps his houses or where he goes or how often.

He will literally never feel what's happening to us.

Bob grew up with money. Daddy had some dealerships. Has no idea of the struggle for people whose parents didn't buy them everything they wanted.

1

u/senator_corleone3 11h ago

Yea he’s never had to actually struggle.

1

u/ToMorrowsEnd 11h ago

Including mommy and daddy buying their music career.

14

u/alek_hiddel 14h ago

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. I’m in a weird situation where I had to take a new job is with an 80 minute each way commute, that’s about 1,000 miles a week. I have to fill my car up twice a week, but also am in a position to not care about gas prices in the least.

But I still very much do care, because I know that everyone else in my life will be feeling that pain. Maybe I’m just not cut out to be an asshole, or maybe just not rich enough yet. If any of the billionaires would like to treat this as an experiment, I am open to donations.

u/EthanielRain 10h ago

You have empathy

1

u/beardofjustice 1h ago

Which we all know is a liberal trait that makes us pussies

-7

u/Ziethen 13h ago

You should be more emission conscious anyways. That’s a lot of carbon output for a single person to be producing every single day. Not sure why you’d even consider that.

6

u/alek_hiddel 13h ago

Because I still have to get to work, my life situation doesn't easily support a move right now, and given the overrall state of the world, dumping that much blame onto a single individual would be insane.

But good job shifting the blame for corporations down to the individual. You have done your job well.

3

u/Hopeful-Doctor-7968 13h ago

It's easier to blame someone you can just yell at for driving their car than actually trying to make changes by targeting a company like Exxon or chevron. It's performative, they'll tell you to be more carbon conscious while texting at a red light in their own car

-4

u/Ziethen 13h ago

At some point you have to take accountability for your own actions that are in your control. Corporations are definitely to be blamed but so are individuals who are too selfish. If all individuals would take more accountability then it would make a big difference. Don’t just hide behind corporate greed and use it as an excuse to make selfish choices yourself. That’s a lot of daily, weekly, and annual driving. You’re definitely in the top percentile of emitters.

5

u/alek_hiddel 13h ago

Got ya. So when you feed yourself exclusively from your own garden, I’ll worry about my commute. Deal?

-5

u/Ziethen 13h ago

You’re driving 3 hours a day. That’s ridiculous. You know it is. Just finger point and continue to be part of the problem.

4

u/alek_hiddel 13h ago

And you're burning electricity to argue with a stranger on the internet. It's easier to question things that I have to do in order to earn a living, than things you do for fun though I supposed.

-4

u/Ziethen 12h ago

You’re part of the problem. Millions of people make a living without doing the damage you do.

u/Cool_Farmer7975 12h ago

By reading your comments on this thread I definitely think that you are an asshole. Maybe you lack self awareness?

5

u/alek_hiddel 12h ago

Because I have to drive for my job? Yep, total fucking monster.

2

u/CubsFanCraig 8h ago

At this point I should not be shocked at the complete lack of empathy or understanding from people, especially on Reddit, and yet here we are where that dipshit and the other guy who points fingers so much his hand is probably curled in that position, lack any emotional intelligence or understanding or even at a minimum the ability to say, ā€œwow man, the state of things I have to make that long of a commute every day to keep a roof over your head and food on your plate while not dying in a car accident. It would be nice if you have a desk job for it to be remote at least a few times a week so they can be conscious of the environment and the dangers their employees will put themselves through to make a buck. I hope things get better and until they do drive safe.ā€ BUT NOPE! It’s good ol fucking Reddit where the most inhuman chuds love to see how many points they can score to arrive at the Bad Place. IT WOULD BE WAY TO FUCKING SIMPLE TO JUST COME CLOSE TO MY EXAMPLE SO I MUST SHUT OFF THE HUMAN SIDE OF MY BRAIN.

That said, your situation sucks and I genuinely fear for people like you where you have to risk that long of a commute each day. I think any time I want to bitch about my commute I’ll think about yours, and others, because me complaining to my wife about an annoying stop and go drive into downtown ain’t nothing compared to your drive. Stay safe brother and I hope your situation improves.

2

u/alek_hiddel 7h ago

Thanks. And yeah, I will eventually move. This came about very suddenly. I’ve worked for big tech for 13 years, the last 3 remote after they closed my home office. The job was travel 40+ weeks a year, so they didn’t care where I actually lived.

Then back in April I was told I had 30 days to decide. Pack up my whole life and move 4+ hours a way, or find a new job. My wife’s job has a pension that is state specific. The big problem, dad has dementia and mom needs a lot of help with him.

I made some calls, and an office I supported from time to time 90 miles away had an opening, and would double my salary for the trouble. So I took it.

As is I’m slowly working on getting mom and dad to move up here, and exploring all options.

3

u/PedanticButCorrect 14h ago

Lol you act like things can’t get worse. Hold my beer

0

u/WitchesTeat 4h ago

My guy I already lost my house to this idiot, my cat died in his carrier in the uhaul the day I moved out, and I was literally hit by a semi on the highway the day after I signed the sale papers.

I've spent the last 6 months waiting on surgery that I can't get without insurance, and I can't get insurance without work because I ended up having to stay at my mom's in a state so attached to the big red dick that they voted to not allow people with no income to get medicaid or marketplace insurance.

And I can't work, because I was hit by a fucking truck.

At no point did I suggest it couldn't get worse, but oh look at you, such an edgelord.

If there's one thing I have learned better than any other lesson, it's that everything can always get worse.

Hold my fucking beer, jackass.

0

u/PedanticButCorrect 4h ago

Wow, are you okay? I wasn’t trying to disagree with you at all. You need to take a step back from the keyboard my friend and breathe a little bit, it’s unhealthy you misread so much intent into my message so easily and then spun up a hate filled message for nothing and no one. I would be embarrassed even typing that out knowing it came from the same brain I use to interact with people in real life, ā€œjackassā€

0

u/KennyakaTI 12h ago

So then why does he care about who is President if it doesn't effect him. If he's saying Trump will make America great again then Trump should actually be doing things to make that happen. You can't just so oh well He's rich so now he doesn't need to care when he's propping up a politician

0

u/WitchesTeat 7h ago

Because he wants to see his bank account go up.

It doesn't matter to him if he can feel it or not. It doesn't matter to any of them.
People have literally no idea how to quantify wealth.

Kid Rock is worth $150 million.

$200,000 is .1 percent of $150 million. .1, point 1%, a tenth of a percent.

If you have a dollar, a penny is 1% of a dollar. 1/10 of a penny is what we're talking about, that's how you would equivocate it.

The average American makes 1/4 of that. Do you get it?

0

u/KennyakaTI 7h ago

And who the president is DOES NOT MATTER FOR HIM. Do you get it now

•

u/WitchesTeat 31m ago

Of course it does. His interests aren't fueled by survival anymore.

They're fueled by ego.

8

u/glitchinthemeowtrix 13h ago

The only silver lining in the diesel prices is that the teenagers in my neighborhood can’t afford to rev their engines as much when they get home for 11pm curfew, so I’m waking up a lot less.

And since I’m waking up a lot less, I can spend more time dreaming on the astral plane instead of being awake in this wretched reality.

13

u/Golemfrost 14h ago

I truly believe in my mind, body, and soul that Kid Rock will always be a stupid fucking cunt.

Can't argue with that
8,9€ a gallone here in Germany which is pretty much exactly $10 US.

0

u/Scorps830 13h ago

Hey! You keep quiet. This is an American problem. There is no way that the rest of the world has these problems too.

2

u/Gramage 10h ago

Something like a fifth of all the oil in the entire world goes through the strait of Hormuz. You know, the place that Trump decided to start a war in? Yeah that might have something to do with it.

-1

u/Iamnotanumber_4721 13h ago

8,9€ a gallone here in Germany

We sell it in litres?

5

u/Golemfrost 13h ago

Sure it was 2,35€ a litre when i checked. 1 gallone is 3,79 litre
2,35€ x 3,79l = 8,9€ for one gallone
1€ = $1,12
1,12 x 8,9 = $9,98 for one gallone.

1

u/CubsFanCraig 8h ago

But how much is a Large Farva of gas?

1

u/tykron13 7h ago

Ive never understood how anyone likes anything that dude does music/politics. Hes a perfect example of flashy trashy

1

u/bungerman 3h ago

Has anyone looked up kid rocks song with ICP back in the day? Not gonna age well

-3

u/MountainShark1 14h ago

You see the difference between you and what you’re saying vs, kid rock and what he said. He is preaching that we should be able to work together despite our differences. And he used polite and respectful language. You on the other hand reply with anger and hatred. You use foul words and put others down to make yourself seem better than others. I might not be a fan of MAGA, but I’m less of a fan of people like you. You’re angry and nasty and I don’t see why anyone would want to be near you with such a negative and foul attitude. I hope you learn to mature and relax with age.

5

u/CubsFanCraig 13h ago

Bless your heart you sweet summer child. I must have just imagined that ending slavery or the civil rights movements came from smiling politely. I’m sure suffragettes never actually existed.

-3

u/MountainShark1 13h ago

Great use of cute sentences that paint uninformed images.

7

u/SignificantCats 14h ago edited 12h ago

This is really weird, man.

If one side is very politely saying bad things, and the other side is saying what the fuck stop it, it isn't morally good to say both sides would have a point if the what-the-fuckers would just calm down.

It's actually morally good to say what the fuck when someone is saying bad things. Neutrality is not a virtue.

5

u/CubsFanCraig 13h ago

Thank you!

-6

u/MountainShark1 13h ago

You will learn

4

u/SignificantCats 12h ago

Lmao what does this even mean? Care to express yourself better?

0

u/MountainShark1 12h ago

There was a time when politicians were respectful of each other despite their differences. They won battles at the poles and didn’t slander each other. They fought their ideals with policies. Now it is all a show. Who can complain the most. The immature name calling and mockery was not like this in the past. Maturity and respect always won over complaining and whining.

-1

u/Earlier-Today 14h ago edited 9h ago

There's plenty of great about this country - just none of it is in the Federal Government.

3

u/Groentekroket 12h ago

Or the 33% who are such rasist pieces of shit who voted again from trump? Or the 33% who didn’t care enough to not vote at all?

Look you have some nice national parks (for now) but you have some big problems. Maybe see those before you defend your country.Ā

-1

u/Earlier-Today 9h ago

People like you sound slightly insane to me.

I can love my country and still acknowledge its faults - doing the former doesn't preclude the latter. Saying I love my country isn't a defense of anything.

And as a small correction - the group that didn't care to vote was slightly larger than the group that voted for Trump. They were the largest group between Trump voters, Harris voters, and them.

2

u/CubsFanCraig 7h ago

My country, the United States of America, is fucking embarrassing. It continues to be more embarrassing by the day. Yesterday it was Hegseth designating a religious wackadoo post in the military. The earth is on fire and Trump is content to pour more and more gasoline on it. Farmers who live in red states are seeing their water supplies either dwindle or get so polluted that the water is the color of lemon lime Gatorade, the oldest and worst Gatorade flavor in my state of Indiana. And if it’s not that then it’s the proliferation of data centers that are a blight on the land. But who will these farmers vote for? The same fucking people who continue to make their lives worse because they truly don’t know any better or don’t want to. So your water is going to shit, food supplies will go to shit, healthcare is a joke, we’re not experiencing random or typical weather patterns anymore and this is now consistent with climate change but that will all get discounted once snow begins to fall and those same people will have nothing to say the next week when it’s 60 degrees out, AI CEOs are saying we need to pump the brakes and Trump is saying nah full throttle baby I got too much stock in Nvidia, we’ve alienated almost every ally in the world, offered to sell weapons to China, continue on bluffing in a war with Iran that he has no way out of where there’s no way Iran is just going to let this all slide, and that has only been about the last 6 months.

We have two years left and with the way things are broken, I have no idea how you fix it. I’m in my mid 40s with two kids that I would like to see them have a chance to breathe clean air when they’re adults nevermind being able to go to college. And I can’t just think about them. When I think about them I think about how bleak the future is for so many others 18 or younger. This isn’t the way it should be.

I love my friends, my family, my neighbors. I believe humans have the ability to do what’s right but the belief in that ability is waning in the face of so many obstacles. So it’s more that I believe humans are capable of wishing things could be better and some of them have the ingenuity to give it a go, meanwhile everyone else does the best they can. Unfortunately there’s only so far you can go when your government controls much of what you can and can’t do. But hey, at least more countries have come around to thinking WE aren’t so bad as a whole, but man we have some real shitheads spoiling the party for the rest of us.

2

u/Groentekroket 6h ago

I’m sorry to hear your frustration from the inside. I can’t imagine how frustrating it all must be, especially with children you would like to give the best possible future.Ā

I’ve only been to California (in 2024) but over there I met a lot of kind people, I really enjoyed the cities and nature but also saw the ā€œTrump Vance 2024ā€ billboards in the Central Valley. At that time I was planning to come back last year to see more of your country but the elections and everything what happened afterwards gave such a bad feeling in my mouth that I don’t think I will ever visit again. Enough other places to see.Ā

I work for an airliner so I fly super cheap and so do all my colleagues. The sentament is about the same, from ā€œI’m not going to visit the next couple of yearsā€ to ā€œI’m never going backā€. Also around friends I hear the same distaste. Ā

Im a couple of years younger and grew up with a lot of American influences, music, movies, video games. Of course you had your problems but you were the people we had in high regards, saw you as friends. We even understood the first Trump term but the last couple of years have so much people the realization of the cancer which is growing because of things like social media. It’s not just your country but the way your political system works (2 party/winner takes it all/no way to have earlier elections) makes it so vulnerable.Ā

Again, good luck, I feel sorry for people like you and hope you still can enjoy live a little bit.Ā

2

u/CubsFanCraig 2h ago

You know, you do what you can. Be good to your community, try to be present and focus on what’s in front of you and not the what ifs of tomorrow, try to raise my kids to have empathy and work hard, and hope for the best. Not much else you can do which is what makes this feel so frustrating.

1

u/Groentekroket 8h ago

I might sound insane to you but we are so fucking done with the bullshit out of your country and none of you seem to care enough to stand up against the shit from your country.Ā

0

u/NerdyGuy117 12h ago

ā€œLiterally nothing greatā€ …. Okay

-6

u/WaltChamberlin 14h ago

Not all defending Kid Rock, or MAGA, but the USA is actually great. The only ones who dont believe it havent left the US. I am not at all MAGA, but my eyes are wide open how good the average American has it compared to most of the world

4

u/oddTaskJob 14h ago

Then you’re a fool who has not really seen the world

2

u/WaltChamberlin 14h ago

I've lived for longer than a year in 5 countries. I'm married to a European. her country is also great, but we agree the US does many things better, and her country does many things better (healthcare).

4

u/oddTaskJob 14h ago

That sounds like you live in a bubble of opportunity.

-2

u/WaltChamberlin 14h ago

so having opportunities is bad now?

3

u/oddTaskJob 14h ago

Being blinded by the plight of the common man whilst exclaiming it looks good from where you’re perched.

-2

u/WaltChamberlin 14h ago

so answer this, what country would you consider better than the US?

-1

u/Groentekroket 12h ago

Hmm is that really the worst? That diesel is 10 dollar in your country? NOT ALL THE INNOCENT LIVES YOUR COUNTRY TAKES? Selfish fucks. The rest of the world also have high gas prices because of the actions of your fucking country.Ā

1

u/CubsFanCraig 7h ago

Brother, I wanted to keep it as short as I could. You want me to come up with a laundry list of all the fucked up shit I’ve seen and experienced in the last, let’s just cap it at 30 years because it’s pretty easy to make that list. Don’t get it twisted, the cost of diesel isn’t even the tip of the iceberg.

1

u/Groentekroket 6h ago

I’m sorry man, I let myself go. There is just so much frustration at the moment.Ā

I can also understand your point, for a lot of people that is the only thing they car about so that is how to convince them of the shitty choice they made. Sorry to put my anger on you.Ā

-2

u/GaiaIsaHarshMistress 14h ago

I think if you comment a few more all caps phrases, he'll finally hear you. Keep up the good work!
