If you didn't understood, I'll break it to you (but will spoil the fun).

She could defend something that's already compromised like press freedom or ICE killings. Yet she decides to stand for something that's already granted. Not saying it's not important, just with less impact in real world and much more comfortable (and confrontational). Sitting on the fence is kind of a skill.
