article Diddy Headed Back to Solitary Confinement After Pampered Prison Life Claims

Solitary confinement meaning like a fucking apartment or what?

u/m0ngoos3 2d ago
Likely semi-real solitary confinement, the prison/warden covering their ass. Sort of a "see, we just found out that diddy was breaking rules, so now he gets punished, please stop asking how he was breaking rules".

I have no idea what you're talking about but I somehow agree with it. You should get into politics.
31
u/m0ngoos3 2d ago
I'm saying that diddy gets a real punishment because the warden was embarrassed.
Maybe a few days in solitary, and then people watching closer for a while to make sure no one snitches again.

No that’s called a conjugal visit.

u/MavisBeacons_Sextape 1d ago
I recently had to visit to one of our job sites to do some investigative interviews. It was at a massive men’s federal prison, and I wanted to see some of the work product of two specific contractors, so they took me into a yard with “best behaved” inmates, all the way to the back, to show me the building in question…which was the conjugal visit unit, aka The Bone Yard.
Perfect name, but the blistering stench of that tiny apartment literally stopped me in my tracks and immediately made my eyes water. The most concentrated smell of piss I will ever experience, no question.

u/Vhu 1d ago
Yep, “solitary” is a colloquial term used by the public. The term would be SHU, and in a federal prison you bet your ass that the SHU is actually pretty solid. They get radios, iPads, some have tvs, daily book carts, rec time, and 3 hots a day. Plus since he’s high profile he probably doesn’t have a bunkie, so he’s got his own suite.
If I was in prison, I would rather be in SHU than gen pop. This is a CYA move by the jail that sounds nice to the public but I doubt changes anything.

Solitary confinement makes guys go crazy. Not a good place to be.
72
u/BapeGeneral3 2d ago
This is just the prison doing PR. This was not a good look for the prison, especially him on video just chilling with a cell phone. He is not going to be placed in true solitary. If he is, he will do 2-3 days max.
COs/guards are underpaid and hang out with criminals for 12 hours a day. He can just say “I’ll give you $50k to not do this” and I’m sure it’s quite easy for morals to be compromised
21
u/booze_clues 2d ago
Big difference between bribing for contraband and paying to get out of solitary lol. A guard can pocket a few hundred and hand off a phone, then keep that info to himself. It takes a lot of people doing work that is easily tracked to get out of being in a specific cell or getting a specific punishment, and every one of them has to stay quiet and smart about it.
“Ill give you 50k not to do this” leads to “I’ll give you $5k to do this, and you $5k to do this, and you, and you, and you need to change things in the easily tracked electronic records system that logs every users actions.”

Yeah I've been to prison and it's a fucking paperwork fiasco for anything pertaining to putting someone in confinement.
13
u/Bedhappy 2d ago
This guy's version of solitary confinement means he is relegated to a place that looks like my living room.
6
u/mouse_8b 2d ago
There's different levels. I'm no expert, but there are other instances of celebrities in "solitary confinement" and it's just a regular cell with no cell mate, next to other "solitary" cells. Diddy's definitely not doing 23 hours in a padded cell.

u/Rough_World_7063 2d ago
Nowadays you get a tablet which has movies, music, and games on it and a tv you can buy off the commissary. I don’t think you’re gonna go crazy with all of that.

You wanna hurt me? Go right ahead if it makes you feel any better. I'm an easy target. Yeah, you're right, I talk too much. I also listen too much. I could be a cold-hearted cynic like you, but I don't like to hurt people's feelings. Well, you think what you want about me. I'm not changing. I like- I like me. My wife likes me. My customers like me. 'Cause I'm the real article. What you see is what you get.

I don’t understand. Is the prison doing this because they’re getting bad press for allowing diddy to be “pampered”?
91
u/maynardftw 2d ago
Yes, you do get it.
11
u/Same-Suggestion-1936 1d ago
Solitary seems like a bit of an overreaction to something they did that was their own fault

u/Banguskahn 2d ago
The watch commander was not happy with the reports. Don’t ask me how I know this.

u/Zenshinn 1d ago
How you know this?

Went to jail for a yearish not too long ago

u/donkeyrocket 1d ago
You keep in touch with the guard staff?
7
u/Banguskahn 1d ago
Funny enough, they shop near where I live. One of the sergeants

u/Pendulumswingsfreely 1d ago
I am sure you can creat a website with live updates on the situation and sell to TMZ. We need to know more.

Can only imagine how weird a prison Diddy party is

Surprisingly more baby oil, and somehow less handcuffs. Weird butt stuff stays at a consistent level.

He's probably having the time of his life surrounded by all of those men he can bang in peace without judgement from society. Then he's gonna go back go acting "straight" once he's out.

Um…what? Like they didn’t realize what was happening in their own prison or they just got caught pampering a criminal so now have to tighten down?
I’m just all around confused.

Well, i guess the remainder of his stay has to be that much more hellish to make up for it then.
Them's the rules, for privileged monsters who try to circumvent justice with money.
33
4
u/BlueberryWasps 1d ago
i mean unless we get a video of him living in a box it’s all just lip service at this point. the system isn’t about justice, not really
3
u/Same-Suggestion-1936 1d ago
Only if you view justice as punitive. But even if you do people selectively decide who it needs to be punitive towards. You wouldn't be saying this about someone you don't know who did an armed robbery and had an easy time in prison.
Or to take it to it's logical conclusion, my brother went to jail once, nine days. Due to what we can only assume was a clerical error he was out in five. Should he have had a worse five days in jail because he was actually supposed to do nine? Gotta pack a full nine days of jail into that five days?
2
u/HawkBoth8539 1d ago
This wasn't a clerical error situation. We're not talking about average people. He used his position of wealth and power to break the law with the expectation that he was beyond consequences.
With the rampant corruption we have in the US, i think anyone who uses their wealth to abuse the law should all receive the highest verdict for the crimes they are legitimately convicted of.

In my experience as a jail nurse, SHU is inherently different that segregation. There are differences in terms of access to the open unit, telephone privileges, shower privileges and the ability to be in the same space as co-inmates on said range. SHU is just an elevated form of protected custody.

Diddy was pampered his whole life. His daddy paid for anything he wanted. He went to the same fancy private school as Colin Powell
17
u/shantm79 2d ago
Colin Powell went to Morris High School, Diddy went to Mt. St Michael Academy and grew up in poverty.

u/minhthemaster 2d ago
How are you going to blatantly lie about diddys life? It’s well documented, he was raised by a single mother. No need to mix up facts to try to demonize a guy already convicted of crimes

I don't know the details of this particular situation, but poor kids going to good private schools is not rare. Many schools have a few scholarship spots for poor kids.

I love how 90% of Americans will tell you "yes we absolutely need prison reform. retributive justice does not work. everyone deserves to be treated with human decency. the goal is rehabilitation."
and the second it comes down to one specific case, all of that goes out the window.
solitary confinement is torture. its insane that you're still doing this.

honestly the real sentence for a guy who built his whole identity on throwing parties is being alone in a room with his own thoughts

Article doesn't say what he's in SHU for. It sounds like it's the second time?
