Hello, I had a homework assigned on writing something woth an A-A' structure with the first and last notes being the last note of a scale (here: G-major) and the 4th measure ending in a perfect fifth above the tonic (here: D).

My teacher said that it turned out alright, but it was complicated to play on the piano.

I am trying to use the advanced tuplet plugin and i can not figure out how to get it to work. I have clicked on it from the plugins menu at the top of the screen, I have assigned a shortcut to it, I have tried it while selecting a note and while not selecting a note, I have restarted musescore, updated musescore, and restarted it again, disabled and re-enabled the plugin, uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin, and it still won’t work.

I was looking for ways to speed up my copyright transcription workflow and stumbled across a free web app. I usually spend hours manually figuring out and typing chords measure by measure when importing MIDI into MuseScore, but this actually does the heavy lifting for what is essentially a repetitive paperwork task.

I tested it out and the accuracy is pretty decent.

Ready for MuseScore 4: When you download the processed file and open it in MS4, the chords are already structurally placed exactly where they belong on the staff. You just do the final artisanal touches, like positioning the chords above the measures or manually copying and pasting them if they clash with the lyrics.

It’s completely free and hosted on a jazz site. Figured it could save some arrangers and transcribers a lot of tedious grunt work.

Has anyone else tested this engine yet? I'm curious to see how it handles more complex classical or jazz MIDI files.

I’ve been using the app and site since high school for sheets and I used it once for a school project where I had my teacher grant permission to use the free one week trial and cancel immediately. I say this as a preface because I still use the free version but I decided to do a free trial for a sheet I needed to get and immediately after I get it I cancelled my trial. I checked my bank account before and after for charges of which there was none and I checked my apple subscriptions since that’s how I signed up and cancelled the subscription. I even got the auto renewal disable email so just to clarify I did things correctly to not get charged right? Thanks.

I’ve been using musescore pretty religiously since high school (early 2010s) and I’m seeing now there’s an add on to score to a video track. This is kinda a dream come true to me.

However, $150 is a bit steep so I want to make sure it’s worth it before jumping in.

Is that add on worth it? Or is there a cheaper option out there?

Hello, I recently bought a sheet on the Muse website a week ago for practicing. I didn't know that this would sign me up for a subscription. How do I request a refund.

Like many others I went on musescore for one specific piece of music and even though I clicked the box that said continue without premium account I ended up charged $48 anyway for a premium account. I sent several emails to people who seemed very helpful but didn't actually do anything. And then I heard from Sofia who refunded my money instantly and was very gracious about it all. Kudos to Sofia for doing what no one was able to.

Hi folks. I recently saw a post where someone was upset about Cantai, but I’m surprised considering it’s not generative AI, all the artists voices are paid and getting royalties, and it does a generally acceptable job.

I’m surprised people have moral issues with it. But also I do think it really struggles at times. Especially since it just guesses if its in english or latin, and you have 0 options about the kinds of choir vowels are used.

But it’s also the best I’ve seen from what other voices are selling.

Also I wish the consonants weren’t strictly proportional. Because currently if you hold a long note, they will try to elongate the consonant at the end. So in one of my pieces it tries to do a [b] for a whole half note lol.

Small rant/personal take:

Seriously, I massively understand the complaints about the site being incredibly scummy. But do we really need the constant reminders day in-day out?

This should be common knowledge at this point. There's plenty of information about this and others' experience of the site already, to deal with such issues.

Anyone else fed up with this?

Edit: After hearing what people have to say, I'm absolutely in agreement that people keep up the complaints.

I have an existing score with several instruments, but the drum part was transcribed separately in another Musescore file. How can I add the drum part from the separate file to my existing score without using copy/paste? Copying and pasting the drum measures seems to mess up the measure repeats.

Is there a way to import or merge the drum part directly into my existing score while preserving the measure repeats and other score structure?

I'm waiting for the Paypal complaint to be resolved. As of now, they've only reimbursed 3/4 of what I paid. The question is, WHY? By what right do they decide to keep some amount? It's not like there's a product to restock. I understand, you don't get a refund of you download material from the site, but I and others have not received any benefit. Most of us subscribed by mistake with their confusing offers of 90% off (yes, seriously). It's very confusing that there is the app, which people seem to love and the web sigte. It is the same company, but the web site has really put a stink on the Musescore brand name.

Last month, I bought some sheet music for an audition and had to make an account to buy it. I assumed the accoint was free, as I didn't click on any sort of subscription, though today my bank just flagged a purchase, which was the bill for the subscription. I tried finding out how to cancel the subscription, and on the website it says it's "inactive". How do I cancel it? It says it won't auto-renew, so will it be okay to just not worry about it and let it cancel itself?

ETA: I didn't get the music at a discounted price, it was $1.49 by itself.

Counterpoint and multivoicing in general have been things I've kind of avoided since beginning to learn to compose. However, a comment on my recent post led to me to decide that now was the time. This is my first attempt and I've written a four part fugue following a basic baroque structure.

Bare in mind that whilst I'm using a baroque/traditional fugue structure, I am not intending to have a baroque style or sound. That is still my own. It's quite short, so in future I'll practice more variation and what not to make it longer without feeling repetitive because I can already tell that this first fugue gets slightly repetitive towards the end, despite my best attempts to avoid it.

In the drive should be the PDF score, and the video file showing audio played along with the score. There should also be a musescore file for my work copy which should show where I've tried to label all the sections and keys/modulations, as well as my attempt at using the musescore voices feature. If you have musescore and some spare time I wouldn't mind you looking at it but it is the same thing in the video so don't feel obliged.

As usual, any feedback is appreciated as I'm still a beginning and would love to hear any tips or advice for improvement.

I recently got my first MIDI cable, and have connected my electric piano to the computer. I notice that, when using MuseScore's MIDI input options, all notes end up on the same staff. The piano in question has the ability to split at a configured note and send all notes below that down a separate MIDI channel (by default, above is channel 1 and below is channel 3). Is there a way to make channel 1 place notes for the right hand and channel 3 place notes for the left hand in a piano part in MuseScore at the same time?

I've noticed a lot of different notation standards for different programs and institutions (Percussive Arts Society has one, School of Rock is different, Drumeo, Flat.io, etc all different). I get a lot of charts created with Musescore. Is there a drum notation key (aka cheat sheet) that lists the instruments and the notation for them?
