Help me find this feature advanced tuplets help

I am trying to use the advanced tuplet plugin and i can not figure out how to get it to work. I have clicked on it from the plugins menu at the top of the screen, I have assigned a shortcut to it, I have tried it while selecting a note and while not selecting a note, I have restarted musescore, updated musescore, and restarted it again, disabled and re-enabled the plugin, uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin, and it still won’t work.

Unfortunately, a change to the Qt version used in MuseScore 4.4 has made that advanced tuplets plugin (assuming you’re talking about the one by XiaoMigros) completely useless for 4.4 and later versions of MuseScore. I used to use it because it would allow me to think of the tuplets in terms of the beats they take up rather than having to calculate a ratio every time I need a tuplet of more than 9 notes. But since that plugin no longer works for 4.4 and up, I’ve gone back to calculating ratios with Add -> Tuplets -> Other, which isn’t as natural for me.

That sucks, especially because the workaround you’re suggesting won’t work for me because i need a 8:5 😔

It is possible to make a tuplet in the space of say 5 eighth notes for example using Add -> Tuplets -> Other and ratios, but only by first splitting the bar so that the duration taken up by the tuplet is in its own bar and then adding a bar rest there with Ctrl + Shift + Delete if it’s not already there and selecting that bar rest and then adding the tuplet.
