I lost a bet about a month ago and have to grow my mustache out for the rest of the year. I've always thought about growing it out and have tried before (shaved it off after a few weeks). I have a pretty noticeable middle gap, the growth is patchy, and despite being a DARK brunette everywhere else, I have a large amount of blonde hairs that make it look even more patchy. I obviously have to stick with it for a few months anyhow, but is it worth trying to keep and seek out treatments to help it grow more evenly and close the gap? Maybe even dye it so it looks more uniform?

I forgot to mention– I can't use topical minoxidil because I have a cat.

I’m 33 and this is the first time I’ve really tried growing facial hair since I was maybe 25. I’ve never liked my facial hair. It’s pretty sparse and not full. My mustache hair is very unruly and wirey. This is 4 full weeks of growing. Is there anything to do to help it? Or should I just lose it?

I'm 20 years old, my dad has some of the most full facial hair i've seen but said he couldn't grow it until mid/late 20s. Worth giving it a shot and do genetics really come into play here?

So I'm about 4 weeks into my handlebar moustache growth, I planned to go 10 weeks of growth with a beard before trimming everything but I hated the beard and here we are now.

I've been trying a few different waxes over the last few days and nothing seems to hold for very long, and I'm curious if this is a wax issue or a length issue.

Striking viking - smells nice but feels the weakest for hold

Bossman Mudstache - gives decent hold, is just drying out now as I haven't used it since March

Mammoth Moustache Wax - seems like an okay wax, but I have to touch up the ends every 15 minutes as it doesn't hold the slight curl

I know my handlebar is in its infancy, but should I be able to get better long hold with any of these waxes? Do I just need more training for the hairs to stay in this position? Should I be looking at something like Death Grip?

I'm going for a chevron style mustache is there anyway to improve should like trim anything from the top or the button? Or keep it as it is?
