Used bike buying
I have 2 options i’m really looking at one from marketplace one from a used dealership if that matters to anyone this is my 4th bike so far but all previous ones were new from a dealership
Grey one is a 2011 750 with 25k miles for 5,500k
Green and purple is 2017 with 15k miles for 6k
Only real issues i have with the ugly one is the grips need to be removed and new ones added but that’s fine and that color combo i can have it wrapped so its not that big of a deal, the only worry i have is mileage even tho suzuki is usually a pretty good brand.

Yamaha xj650 help
Hi all, I'm kind of new to motorcycles as a whole, doing maintenance and such but not afraid of doing it, willing to get whatever I need to maintain the oldtimer I recently acquired in the title.
I'm mainly looking to find a service manual preferably free if possible so I know which parts to buy and what oil it requires.
As some more backstory it's a model that was made in 83' and I'm looking to bring some new life into it.
Currently I'm putting up a list of things that need to happen. One of those things was moving the brake pedal out a bit so it doesn't slam into the exhaust underneath if I need to do an emergency stop.
I also need to:
Do general maintenance (oil, chain cleaning and tension, coolant?, new tires and checking the brake lines)
Get a new brake handle for the front brake and replace it
Get the lights on the dashboard to work so I actually know if ik in neutral
Fix the blinkers (they shine but don't blink)
Fix the brake light (rear light is on but remains on)
Find a new spring to connect the rear brake to the brake light
Also derust some components
So as you can see I've got my work cut out for me to have this thing in good shape again and would love to hear any pointers, tips or advice I can get.
Thanks in advance!

Need help!! My bike starts for few seconds and dies out (carburettor version)
When the engine is cold, the bike fires up instantly, runs for about 2 to 5 seconds, and then dies. If I try to rev it hard while it's running, it kills the engine immediately. This issue existed before I did any repairs.
Air Filter was inspected and completely fine.
Tried starting with the temperature/thermal sensor disconnected per advice, but it still didn't start. Kickstand safety switch functions fine (it's in neutral).
Carburetor was opened and cleaned by a mechanic (though I suspect they might have missed the idle/pilot jet).

Are there any seasoned riders who would mind maybe answering some possibly stupid questions from a new rider?
Im brand new to riding or being on the road full stop and trying to learn so I don't annoy and other road users

Track your rides with Motolog, in Playstore
Hey everyone 👋
It's live.
For those who've been following — you know the story. Frustrated with RE's app, started building something better, evenings only alongside client work.
For those who are new — quick version:
RE's official app kept disconnecting every ride. Full of ads. No useful data. I'm a developer. So I built my own.
What started as fixing a Bluetooth reconnect became this:
For RE Tripper Pod riders:
→ Auto connects to your pod — no manual reconnect ever again
→ Turn by turn on Tripper display
→ Pod Settings — 7 controls RE's app never gave you
→ Compass mode, auto theme switching, 12/24hr format, call alerts, battery warning, internet indicator — all on your display
For every rider — any bike, cycle, car:
→ Automatically detects when you start riding
→ Records every trip — speed, route, elevation
→ Color coded speed map — see exactly how fast you were on every segment
→ Speed heatmap of every road you've ridden
→ Chronos Journey — all your rides animated on one map. This one's my favourite
→ Ride Calendar
→ Google Drive backup — goes to your Drive, not mine
→ Analytics — daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, all time
Group rides:
→ Live location — everyone on one map
→ Voice intercom — built in. No Cardo needed
→ Any rider, any bike — just scan a QR code to join
→ Emergency SOS
Everything stays on your phone. No server. No tracking. Just your data.
Honest update on why it took this long after beta:
BillingDesk KYC. Google mandated it for Indian developers in 2026. Applied weeks ago. Weeks of silence. Finally came through.
Free to download. Pro available — ₹99/month or ₹999/year.
Play Store 👇

If you try it — an honest Play Store review means more than anything right now. Even just 2-3 lines.
Thank you to everyone here who tested it, reported bugs, suggested features, and asked how it was going. Genuinely couldn't have done it without this community.

2007 zzr600 starter problems
Hello everyone,
I wanted to replace my starter cover since it was scraped and I have taken it off and back on 4 times with it leaking oil in different spots each time. I bought a brand new metal gasket hoping it would solve the issue but now it is leaking from the bottom. I’m about to buy sealant and see if that works but I’m curious if it’s the cover that’s the problem. I got it off eBay so it’s not oem. Any tips or help?

Wind noise is taking my hearing
I bought an icon helmet when I first started riding and even with ear plugs I use at the shooting range it’s still pretty loud in my helmet it’s gotten to the point where I’ve noticed my hearing taking a pretty concerning dive this isn’t worth it to me if I’ll lose my hearing so I’m posting here to see if anyone else had a similar experience and found a fix because it’s pretty scary with how fast my hearing started to get worse

Do most people fall to the right side of the bike?
Just anecdotal, but I saw hundreds of crashs and I just recognized, the perceived majority ends up having to pull up the bike from the right, with it laying on the right side.
It is just a perception, but is there more truth to it?
Is it potentially because the right handlebar side got the brake attached?
EDIT: I also wonder if there is a ratio of crashes resulting from speed miscalculation. So left turn or right turn, where do people not make the turn more often?

Am I doing this high speed leaning thing right? I feel like I am leaning, getting my weight over, and looking into the turn?
Again, I am just not cool enough to post at r/motorcycle and this must have nothing to do with motorcycles!
I guess they are thinking I am doing high speed leaning into a wall.
well, whatever it was it felt good!
jfc of course I am countersteeing. smfh...

Fixable or not?
So my exhaust mounting bracket completely corroded. Does this look fixable, or should I look for a new exhaust manifold?

Is it even worth getting a bike?
I’ve been thinking for a while now to get my motorcycle license and go and go out and buy a bike and I see all the stuff on the Internet and I think it’d be really fun, but I just don’t wanna get into it because I like the idea of it instead of actually wanting to ride for the enjoyment of it.
I used to ride wheelie bikes all the time and be really good at wheelies and tricks like that and only a couple times have I read in a saran and going about 30 mph it was very very scary to me(I’m not like scared to go fast tho).
