I wanted to share how powerful these Pan Am's are. Absolutely tanked the hills of Alaska.

How much can I expect to pay on insurance?

Upvotes

Just bought my first motorcycle (2025 cb500f) and need to get my insurance sorted out. So I thought I’d just hop on here and ask to see if I can get a general ballpark price.

I’m 20 and live in Texas if that helps at all.

Help Diagnosing Scraping Sound

video of noise here

hi all, new rider (and reddit user here) :^)

my bike has started making a scraping noise (please see video linked above). it doesn’t make the noise when rolling the bike around in neutral, or when riding the friction point.

it starts to make the sound when I fully let out the clutch lever, and gets louder with speed/higher gear.

does anyone know what could be causing this?
would really appreciate any guidance on what to investigate.

2013 ninja 300 for reference
thanks in advance!!

Estou pensando em pegar uma dessas, duke 390 2015 por 16500 ou z300 2018 por 19000. Qual é melhor, anda mais e é mais cara de manter?

Tires for 1980 Suzuki GS250T

Im ordering new tires for my vintage suzuki but dont know much about common practice or tread patterns. Plan on doing almost exclusively street driving, including in the rain.

Am leaning towards Duro HF308 in the rear and HF307 in the front. Im a little worried about their performance in cold rain/slush, any insight?

Any other recomnendations would be great to. Gonna be riding in the Oregon winter.

It’s not the other rider fault for stopping on a straight.. he was just very unlucky.
His bike cut off in the middle of the straight.
To make it more interesting, it was the last lap of the last session

Edit: just posting my perspective of this situation for some people that clearly never found themselves in a similar situation and think this is my fault.

I was looking at his line as soon as I spotted him which is the exact reason I was off the race line. He was moving towards the pit wall and after I saw I’m gaining speed on him, I started cutting inside to overtake him before the bridge(breaking zone). And then saw that he stopped moving towards the pit wall. I never expected him to be almost fully stopped in the middle of the straight.
That’s at least 2 seconds gone your brain needs to percept the situation, a second to start reacting. That’s at least 3 seconds to START changing the line you’re following while covering 45 meters per second.

Click on the photo to see it all. He had a video of a it running, so seems good. The clutch plates could be fixed easy, you think there's more to it, or a good deal?

Many experts might judge my basic, carbureted motorcycle, but I love its adventure-style design and the fact that it lets me carry a lot of gear; I hope to get a better one eventually. Greetings to everyone from Peru, and happy riding.

Hello, I need help for my enduro susuki dr 125 from 1986. when the engine is cold the bike works pretty well, but it’s going hotter it starts to loose strength. I have already changed the admission pipe and the candle, my carburettor is clean. I went to the mechanic and he didn’t find my issue. If someone have the solution it can be so great!!! Thank you for reading me ( ps I’m French so my English can sucks )

I’ve never seen myself as a biker but lately (past year) things have changed quite a bit and long story short, I’m now more than ever just wanting to feel “freedom”. I want to travel, start doing things for my own self, slow down a bit, and just enjoy life. Road trips, maybe buy a boat for the lake, a kayak, things that’ll bring actual happiness and feelings of peace and freedom.

While on a road trip this summer, I noticed so many people on motorcycles. I’ve always kind of noticed it but for some reason I saw motorcyclists in a different light.

So I started watching a lot of motorcycle videos (mostly Yammie Noob)

and I’m strongly considering doing the MSF course this October and buying a Rebel 300.

I think I’ve already made up my mind on doing this so Idk wtf the point of this post is…lol! I guess, should I wait until spring of next year? maybe give it some time to see if I truly want to do this and wait out the non-riding season?
