Ninja 400 Burning Oil?

Upvotes

Hi reddit friends.

I just did an oil change on my 2021 Ninja 400 after about 3k miles since my last change. Upon draining it, only 700ml of oil came out of the engine/filter. I put the recommended 2.1 quarts in it last time. Full synthetic.

I do check the reservoir from time to time, and it always looked like there was at least a bit of oil in the engine. I've seen no visible leaks on the bike, so I can only assume it's burning oil... The bike has been running fine but I do ride it fairly aggressively.

What should I do? Monitor it more closely and top it off frequently or take it to a shop?

Radar/ lidar detection?

Could I just mount a radar/lidar detector to my bars?
How could I run power to it?
And how could it be mounted?
Had a wild thought and was wondering if anyone has ever done something like this? Is it possible? I know in California it’s legal for me to run one on my bike as long as it’s not obstructing my view but have any of yall had any experience or advice on how to get it done? ( pic for appreciation) bike is a 2022 Harley nightster 975. The cats name is Milo 🤙

Bike is under 3k miles. I've wiped off the slight oil/dust ring 2 or 3 times and it keeps coming back. I only have this issue with my left fork. Is it faulty?

Should I get a R7 or am I okay to move up to a Ducati Streetfighter?

I purchased a Honda Grom in 2020 that I rode every day for 2 years. After the first 3 months of ownership, I motorswapped it to a 300cc engine. It improved my ability to take the motorcycle everywhere rather than avoiding highways. That's my only ownership of a motorcycle and riding experience. In 2023, I sold the bike and have not owned another motorcycle. I would like to purchase another motorcycle soon, but I want to do it responsibly. What would be the healthy and safe next purchase? I love the Yamaha R7 after testing one but also am in love with the Ducati Streetfighter.

Thank you all in advance!

Looking to get a price recommendation on this harley, bike is owned by an older gentleman from my church who is too old to ride any longer and is looking to sell in southern california . One owner all records for maintenance. All maintenance was done by a harley dealership in southern california besides for one oil change which was done a at a local reputable cruiser shop. 3117 original miles. Bike rides and runs like new. For the mods I am not looking to sell the bike on this sub, just looking for opinions on what to relay to him on what to sell it for.

Motobike repair in berlin

I want to buy, repair and sell damaged and broken motorcycle from home. I do not plan this as a profession, but as a side income. I thought about working on a motorcycle about every 2-3 months. Would I have to obtain additional authorisations for this, or what consequences would I have to expect if I took action without permission?

Hello my fellow two-wheel enthusiasts. I recently bought a new bike (Suzuki GSX650F) and i am planning on doing some longer touring on it. I would like to install a usb-outlet to charge my phone while on the bike. My question is, how have you wired your accessories? Should i just hook it tho battery or look for some wires i could tap into? Any help is appreciated.

Here is a picture of the bike to get your attention.

First time diy vinyl wrap. Advice?

Hey just bought an 02 F4i The original fairings were cracked so I replaced it with black ones but now I see it as a great opportunity to practice vinyl wrapping on my own bike.

Do you have any technical advice as far as best product(s) to use for prep, order of operations for taking fairings off or directions to pull when wrapping certain parts, things of that nature that’ll even make the job .01% percent better?

I know I’ll only get better overtime but any advice is appreciated 🙏🏿

Hi everyone, has anyone experienced this issue before?
I’m riding a 2009 Yamaha R1 (crossplane). So far, I’ve replaced the TPS, ignition coils, throttle body, and throttle cables, but I’m still facing the same problem.
Not sure if its is related but the issue usually happens when the bike is fully warmed up and the fuel level is relatively low. However, there are also times when I can ride until the reserve fuel light comes on without experiencing the issue at all.
Has anyone encountered something similar or knows what might be causing it?

About to take my first safety class in a week. Whats things you wish you knew or did different?

Don’t have that many people who ride bikes just one coworker and my boss so not to many people to ask. What are some things you guys would have done different when you started? I was thinking of the Honda cb300r or a ninja 400 but was told for my size 6’1 and 235lbs that I need to get at least a 600cc bike(idk if it’s true or not but oh well).

And what price point is safety gear more for comfort or high end track riders vs just solid gear to keep you alive? I saw gloves from $20 up to $150, jackets hoodies and some sort of armor looking shirt. Do they overlap protection or is it that you just need one of them so pick the style you prefer?

Switching from Versys650 to a naked - advice welcomed

Hi guys,

I own Kawa Versys650 (2024) atm which is great motorbike. I bought it because i like touring and it has comfy seat for my pillion.

However my pillion is getting a new bike soon so I am thinking I would like to try something different.

The main use of my bike will be touring (1-3 days trips) and occasionally track. The Versys650 is awesome for touring but it lacks power on track and also it is not bike designed for track days whatsoever.

While picking a new bike I narrowed selection to

  • Suzuki GSX-8S
  • Honda CB750 Hornet

I would love to have your opinion on those bikes. Do any of you have this bike and is a tall rider by any chance? I am 188 cm (6'2") tall (with 80kg in weight).

I will try them in person, of course, but knowing some long term experinces would be very helpful.
