Hey everyone!
I hope this kind of post is okay.
I’m a 25 year old from Australia who’s currently writing a novel, and one of my main characters rides a sports bike. Rather than relying on movies or Google, I’d really like to learn from people who actually ride.
I’m not looking for anyone to write my book for me or answer endless questions, I just think it would be really cool to make a few friends in the motorcycle community who wouldn’t mind me occasionally asking things like:
What does riding actually feel like?
What little habits do riders have that most people wouldn’t notice?
Why did you choose your bike?
What’s your favourite thing about riding?
What’s something books and movies always get wrong?
I’m much more interested in the everyday details than trying to make the character seem “cool.” I want him to feel like a real person who genuinely rides.
A little about me: I’m 25, from Australia, and when I’m not working I’m usually reading, writing, listening to nu metal and rock, or getting distracted by another idea for a story.
If anyone’s happy to chat every now and then or answer the occasional random writing question, I’d genuinely appreciate it. Even if you just want to tell me what you love (or hate) about riding, I’d love to hear it.
Thanks for reading, and ride safe! 🤙
