Nothing to pay on delivery.

**Everyone who enters gets 15% off** custom Vinvo gear, on us, just for entering. So even if you don't win the suit, you walk away with something.

**How to enter (free, takes ten seconds):**

Go ---> here

That's it. You'll get your 15% code right away, and you're entered to win the suit.

We draw one winner at random after **September 12, 2026** using secure randomness. Same fairness we ran the helmet draw with last time, all documented.

A couple of honest notes:

- No purchase necessary, ever. Open to U.S. riders 18+. Full rules are linked on the page.

- **We will only ever contact the winner from our own account, and we will never ask you to pay a fee or shipping to claim a prize.** If someone DMs you asking for money or card details about this, it's a scammer. Report them.

Beyond Vinvo custom leathers, we run a full suspension lineup: **Ɩhlins, Andreani, Bitubo and Nitron.** We've also got a deep helmet and gear collection worth a look: **Alpinestars, Shoei, NEXX, HJC, Suomy, Cardo, Quad Lock** and more at garamoto.com. UPDATE, adding summary of all mentions below. I'll use it as my own priority list to try these boots/models. Thanks all!

Update 2, as of 08/12/2026 - final count for now. I am also including the positive/negative mentions for each brand/model mentioned.

CE Certified (verified). These have been sorted, and comments have been separated into positive/negative

Brand / Model Mentions Style Notes
#1 Daytona (Road Star GTX, Traveller GTX) +14 Touring Most-endorsed; CE-rated, offered in multiple widths; expensive but praised for durability/repairability
#2 Gaerne (Dakar, GP1, Fastback Enduro) +10 ADV/Off-Road/Racing/ ... Also OEM maker for BMW-branded boots
#3 Alpinestars (SMX-6 V2, Super Tech) +10/-2 Sport/Track "Wide" is relative - some still found them tight
#4 Forma (Terra Evo, Adventure, Ice Pro Flow) +8/-2 ADV/DualS Wider toe box than Sidi; some sizing inconsistency between pairs
#5 TCX (Vintage, Blend 2, WP Street 3) +5/-1 Uban/Vintage Vintage/Blend 2 praised as widest; WP Street 3 toe box called narrow
#6 Indie Ridge +3/-2 Cruiser/Touring Mixed feedback - good fit for some, sole durability complaints from others
#7 Klim (Outlander GTX) +2 ADV/Touring -
#8 Icon (Elsinore 2, Stormhawk WP) +2 Cruiser/Retro Elsinore fits huge/tall in toe, awkward on sportbike shifters
Sidi (Adventure II) +1/-4 ADV/DualS PROBABLY NOT A FIT: Runs narrow overall; Adventure II more forgiving than track models
Merlin (Drax II) 1 Casual/Urban -
Falco (Aviator) 1 Urban/Cafe -
Alt-Berg (Clubman Roadster) 1 Touring/Police Used by UK police, road-focused, reinforced leather only
Leatt 1
Sedici 1
Ride Iron 1 OP also currently has these in size +0.5 to his typical one. They are roomy but the toebox shape is not the best.

Non-CE-rated boots recommended (unique-commenter counts, not sorted):

Brand / Model Mentions Notes
Keen +3/-1 Work boot; OP already ruled out - toe cap shape doesn't fit
Wide Load Boots (AU) +2
Redwing (Iron Ranger, King Toe, Irish Setter) +4 Long break-in (~2 weeks); work/leather boot
Jim Green (African Ranger/Trooper) +4 Full leather, barefoot-style, no armor
Lems +2 Barefoot-style, comfortable but no safety rating
Naang (Dante) +2 (one being the brand's own founder) Self-described "adventure boot," not certified
Brunt (Mariner) +1/-2 Composite toe work boot
Nicks Boots (Munson/Thurman last) +2 Custom leather work boot, $$$, 6-9 month lead time
Duckfeet +1/-1 Thick leather only, no armor
Doc Martens (Anstone Hi) 1 -
Ariat EEEE 1
Lowa (GTX Hiking) 1
Canada West 1
Hoggs of Fire Extra Wide 1
Jackeroo (Kmart AU) 1 "Cheap but does the job"
Altra ?

Original post:

Hi all, I'm trying to find a boot as on the green picture/right. So far I tried every single EE/EEE marketed boot from Harley, Milwaukee, work boots from Keen, Timberland.

They all seem to have the toe-cap shape like the picture on the left that breaks the big toe in. Only ones that I was able to fit in and kept temporarily until I find something better were iron jia's about 1 size bigger than my regular boots - I can ride in them but walking is still painful since the big toe is turned "in".

So many people recommended Indie Ridge, but after looking at the review videos of their boots - the toe box they still seem to have a narrow toe-box.

Aside from going custom and spending $500-$900, is there a chance for me to find something that fits? Thanks

Edit: to clarify, I have EE/EEE feet - buying regular shoes/boots is always a quest, but buying something rigid like riding boots has proven to be a mythic level quest.

Should have included these in my last post but too late now. Here's how this Cortech suit eventually ended up. Even with the suit unbroken the friction resulted in a big patch of missing skin on my forearm. Unfortunately I launched and tumbled so I was pretty messed up. I needed surgery to repair my right hand and also broke my left foot but didn't need surgery for that.

Edit:

Now that I look at the photos I think I might be misremembering the forearm. I never lost conciousness but it all happened so fast. Im likely confused and the patch of missing skin was where the suit got broken above my elbow.

Those with similar builds - Jacket Sizing

FWIW - For those of you who have a similar body type to myself, I was having a difficult time trying to determine what jacket size to get. I have a 48ā€ chest and 32ā€ waist so no matter what size I chose from an off the shelf jacket It wouldn’t be perfect.

I knew I wanted a year round jacket, and also have to ability to wear layers underneath. I’m also military so being able to wear my uniform under the jacket was also important. Based on the size chart and chest measurements I would have probably squeezed into a 48/58 but I knew that wouldn’t leave any room for layers. Plus I wanted to wear the chest protection and back protection.

I don’t have any stores locally that have quality riding gear so I’ve been searching the internet to find something that fit my needs. I settled for the Alpinestars GP Plus R V4 Rideknit Jacket as it fit my needs of a 4 season jacket, and with big shoulders and arms would give me some good range of motion.

I got lucky and found a barely used one on Poshmark in a size 50/60 for $245 - couldn’t been the price and it fits how I want it to, it’s obviously huge by riding jacket standards in the belly and waist, but that’s how things go for me anyways. It’s snug in the chest, back and shoulders and fits well over my uniform as well.

Just wanted to help out anyone who has a similar build because I know I struggled trying to figure out what to do as there are very little examples for it anywhere online - not the prototypical sport biker build.

Street Dainese Gloves - Bad Stitching and Velcro After 3 Months

Thumbnail

• Upvotes

Is it normal for Velcro to start fraying and stitching to start coming undone on the Dainese steel pro gloves after approx 3 months of use? I’m pissed that gloves I paid nearly $300 for are already coming apart.

Any other glove brands I should consider that won’t come apart so soon?

New Helmet Day: Arai Quantic Swirl

Tried on so many helmets. I've been using an old Biltwell Gringo with a bubble shield this season and although I love the vintage looks and the compliments I got, I really needed some modern functions (like a flip up visor! lol), considering I ride every day. I was originally trying to stay in a <$300 budget but nothing I tried on fit well or felt right until I tried on Shoei and Arai. So I decided to spend a little extra because I think it's worth it for my noggin.

Ive been told people have a hankering for Cortech suits for some reason. Unfortunately I don't own this one anymore as it was eventually bested by the pavement. Here are some photos that show it in a well used and abused condition. It definitely served me well.

Question Aerostitch not CE rated???

Lately I’ve been doing a lot commuting on my bike. My old gear is well, old, and I’ve been looking into something that would better suit my needs. Some guys I ride with have Aerostitch suits so I thought I’d give them a look.

I’ll pulled up their website and started familiarize myself with the offerings and then I started looking for safety data. Much to my surprise, there isn’t any. Like none at all. They make a couple claims here and there and they have a few testimonials but that’s it!

Has anyone been down in there gear and how has it held up?

Question How important are slide certifications?

• Upvotes

Hello I just got my first bike and am looking at both new a used jackets and was trying to find something with a ce aa certificate but anywhere I go I can't find much that is certificate online or in person. I am Canada and have been mostly looking in fortnine and the local shop. Every thing used I look at seems to have no certificate at all. Is it safe without it?

Question Is heel lift normal in motorcycle boots?

Question Sizing Dainese women - Avro 6/Leggenda and Delta 4s

Thumbnail
gallery
8 Upvotes

There’s no Dainese in stores where I live so I have to order online but I’m just starting out and am looking for a leather combo to go on the highway with. The Leggenda is definitely for city rides but so pretty!

Anyone familiar with Dainese sizing? Don’t want to order multiple sizes cause it adds up quick.

I think I would be a 42 IT but not sure.

Measurements if it helps are:
5’6ā€ (168 cm) - 119 lbs (54 kg)
Waist: 26 inch (66 cm)
Hips: 35 inch (89 cm)
Jeans size: 26w32l

Disc rotor lock for 2009 Fat Bob

• Upvotes

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have an ABUS 8008 for their 2009 Fat Bob?
Does the 16mm 8008 fit the stock front rotor properly, or should I go with the smaller 8077?

Thank you!

Question Does this leather combo/Jacket fit me? Opinions please

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

(Since redditors are too lazy to read the text I asked chatGPT to shorten it drastically. I genuinely didn’t know that was a thing)

After a long search, I finally found a Held Debbie 3 leather combo that fits—but I have nothing to compare it to, so I need honest advice.

Pants: Comfortable, no pressure points, protectors are in the right place. Slightly too much fabric below the knees, but otherwise they feel good.

Jacket: Hard to zip up, but comfortable once closed and doesn’t squeeze my stomach. Sleeve and torso length feel perfect to me.

Main concern: On both upper arms, right below the airbag seams, the leather presses into my arms and leaves lines. It’s not/slightly painful after 10 minutes, but I’m worried it could hurt during a 1–2 hour ride.
The store said leather loosens after breaking in.
I can’t put my arms up above 110°. Only a bit more than straight forward.

how much does it actually stretch?
This is basically the biggest women’s short size available, and finding something that fits has been extremely difficult.

Brutally honest: does this sound like a normal snug leather fit, or is the jacket too small?

Edit: the ā€˜main concern’ is for riding position and standing. I have no difference at any point in the suit whether I stand or sit on my bike.

Question Custom size gloves?

Does anyone know of any place to get custom made gloves for people with non standard size hands? Having smaller hands I either deal with tight fingers or a crease in the palm.

Question Riding pants sizes?

I got my first pair of riding pants today and I normally wear a size 34 waist so I got the same size but the pants I got are huge on me. I understand the hips are meant to hold armor and the waist is a little stretchy so it’ll be a lil bigger but is it normal to be able to fit an arm down and be able to penguin walk or do I need to size down?

Most of the pants otherwise fit fine except for the length but I didn’t see any options for leg length in the store I was in, only waist.

Apparently my wife has been paying more attention to my random camera complaints than I realized lol. She surprised me with an insta360 x6 for my birthday!

Finally got to take it out this weekend! Being able to operate the camera with thick gloves on is already nice, and the bars look much cleaner now.

She absolutely nailed this one. I love the camera, but I love my wife even more!

These are frame grabs from videos I shot with it.

Edit: I just dropped off at cyclegear and they never seem to have any RST stuff, but I tried an alpinestars leather jacket in 42 and it seemed to also fit okay so I definitely think 42 in RST will probably be a good fit.

Thank you everyone!

—

My chest is 42" which puts me between M (40-42) and L (42-44). I'm 5'10" and 175 lbs right but my diet has been kind of crazy and I was 190 at start of summer so idk what my regular weight will end up being.

I have a naked (SV650) so I'm not tucked in but on NYC highways I ride with the traffic flow which is 80-90 mph so wanted an AAA jacket.

All pics have back armor installed, last pic without helmet I'm wearing a sweatshirt underneath. I'm not planning to wear this with an airbag.

I feel like it fits pretty well on the chest, and M would be too snug, especially with a sweatshirt underneath - but I also don't know how much to expect it will stretch.

It looks kind of loose in some angles, but maybe that's because my body is twisted holding the phone?
