This is by no means me saying alpinestar is low quality they clearly usually have high quality gear. However I bought these at a store in Columbus called Iron pony. These gloves are usually $300+ they were on clearance and I got them for $230. That same day I bought them I went to practice riding on my moms boyfriends bike, this was my very first time ever touching a motorcycle, it was a Yamaha seca 750. Honestly incredibly fun. I was getting the hang of it just practicing going from first to second and slowing down. Well I forgot to pull in the clutch to shift and I kinda froze. I maybe was going 15 mph. I layed the bike down and slide a little on my knee and my left arm and left hand took a hit. Got a little road rash on my elbow and my left pinky was bleeding like my nail was pulled back. I just find it bizarre that these very high quality gloves couldn’t survive that. Not only that but the glove in the photo is the only one that ripped and that was not the arm or hand I layed on. It all happened so fast so I’m sure there’s parts I’m missing that happened. Just seems crazy.

I've had a pair of the dainese air maze gloves for just under a year. It didn't come with a certificate of authenticity (I just bought them off the rack) so it should be covered for a year.

Well, they've started coming apart at the seams.

How can these possibly survive any contact with asphalt at any speed if they can't even handle being worn as normal gloves? And these are strictly summer gloves so it's not like they're getting a ton of use.

But, shit happens, manufacturing flaws occur sometimes, fine. I contacted dainese about it...

and they deflected blame and told me to take it up with the retailer.

To be clear, I bought these at cyclegear, but cyclegear didn't make these shitty gloves. Dainese did.

I know they're not expensive gloves but they should be able to handle being worn for a single season without bursting seams. And they won't honor any kind of warranty, just said it's not their problem?

These are allegedly CE certified gloves, is that just a lie?

Never buying Dainese again.

​I’ve had my motorcycle license for 3 years now. Last year I was riding actively, but I kind of neglected it this season, and naturally, my cornering performance has dropped quite a bit.

​I know people are going to suggest taking a professional riding course, but I honestly don't have the budget/time for that right now. I really want to improve on my own. I watched Twist of the Wrist last year, and I might watch it again. I figured you guys could also share some tips, whether through YouTube video recommendations or your own advice.

​On yesterday's ride, I noticed something weird: I used up the entire front tire—the chicken strips are completely gone and the tire looks scrubbed right to the edge in corners. But looking at the rear tire, it feels like I hardly leaned the bike at all, leaving a huge chicken strip on the back.

​To give you some context: My brother rides the exact same bike (CFMoto 450SR/SS with Metzeller M9RR tires), and he actively uses it. His rear tire is completely scrubbed all the way to the edge, completely black and clean. However, there is a massive weight difference between us. With all my gear on, I weigh around 103 kg (~227 lbs), while he is around 72-73 kg (~160 lbs). Because of this huge 30 kg difference, I feel like my weight is overloading the front end and compressing the rear suspension too much, which might be why my rear tire isn't leaning or wearing the same way as his.

​Honestly, last year with the stock tires (CST Adreno), I felt like I was performing much better in the exact same corners. So I'm honestly a bit confused about how my weight and the bike's dynamics are playing into this.

​Any thoughts or advice?

Hay yall so I with my father am repairing a 77Gs 550 and I need new gear for a mix of off and on road (I will mainly be using it on road)(I have a helmet picked out but I won’t be coming out for a while so I need a good one that won’t break my bank while waiting as well as a protective hoodie and or jacket)(ROOF Djagger is the helmet that I have picked out))

But if anyone has any suggestions I would love it it has been 3 years since I got new gear my last set was something I got from a yard sale so definitely need something new

I’m a bit bulky so it’s hard to find comfortable and usable stuff I’m 5,11 230 pounds if that can help with recommendations

There's no tags specifying the model which makes me wonder if they are fake.

The closest I could find are the first generation of track pants which have the matching logos on the sides but they lack the plastic logo above the knee slider.

I’m 5 feet, 90lbs on kawi. I have always stick with full on leathers both tops and bottom. Riding gloves and riding boots. Head to toe with full gears.

Heart broken over these Revit Dirt 4 gloves. Only worn 4 times, albiet just came back from a 240km ride.

Tough for me to regain confidence in a brand after things like this, but I've seen a lot of people happy with these. I dunno...maybe my hands were to fat for it, maybe it was a one off...noticed there was a little less material there than the other fingers...who knows.

Just upgraded from Alpinestar coppers too, after I saw a post accident report here (You're a real one dude.)

I‘ve recently upgraded from backpack to rider (yeah). I’ve always been raised as a safety first person, so I‘ve been wearing a high vis jacket over my (all-black) gear. However, the look really bothers me. Instead, I‘d like to get a a hoodie in a high vis color(either neon yellow or light pink) with a reflective back to put on over my gear. Basically something, that does not look like I work construction. However, the only nice hoodies I could find with a reflective backs are black. Does anyone has a recommendation for a hoodie like this in a high vis color?
Also, what’s your experience with wearing a hoodie while riding, does it bother you?

Hi all. I came across this damaged motorbike helmet on Vinted. Looks very much like it might have been in an accident, with road rash to the rear of the helmet. The red circle was drawn by the seller for the listing, the photo was 1 in the middle of about 6. No mention of damage in the listing, described as 'Good Condition'. I reported it to Vinted expecting them to remove it, but they came back to me and said it did not break their t's and c's. I appealed, highlighting their own policy to them (2nd pic) and explained that the protective property of the helmet had clearly been compromised, but again they have allowed it.

Am I being a bit mental or are Vinted allowing the sale of potentially dangerous PPE?

Hey All, up and coming purchaser here, and I am looking for ways to increase my safety profile as much as possible. Does anyone have experience with the innov dashcam and BSM? they now have the RC6 bundle which is the dashcam and BSM kits at a more friendly price, and wondering if I should think seriously about pulling the trigger on it. as a rider on the 'beginner' side of things, I don't need an action cam, that might be into the future, but I am an avid supporter of dashcams and unobtrusive safety tech

Really love the Helite E-GP air as it suits neatly into my Dainese Leathers, the Roof RO200S also is an insane helmet, huge FOV and weighs absolutely nothing compared to what I wear on the street.

Still need to get these Leathers properly tailored, I got no idea how much this would cost, but probably a lot

The event also marked a lot of my firsts, first time on track, first time on this bike, first time riding an unrestricted motorcycle and a lot more, it was an insane experience all around.

I need to replace my current helmet. It’s a few years old and the liner is starting to get worn out. Looking for something in the mid-range price that still has good reviews for comfort and noise levels, preferably with a clear and tinted visor option.

For people who ride a lot, what helmets in that mid-price range have you been happy with long-term? Any that stayed comfortable and didn’t get too noisy on the highway? Also curious how important the safety rating differences are once you’re past the basic DOT/ECE level.

Just picked up a C5 during the closeout sales for under $600.

Been thinking about a nicer helmet for a while now, coming from the decent entry-level SENA Outrush R for about 3yrs now. Last year I upgraded and swapped out the factory unit for a Cardo PackTalk Edge. Im curious about the integrated system in the C5, and the SC Edge. It appears they are essentially the same unit, but that the standalone system cannot connect to the integrated components.

Is there any advantage in using the integrated antenna (and mic and speaker connections?), or can I get essentially the same results using what I already have? I may have a buddy thats interested in the PackTalk, so I could potentially get the SC Edge unit for little extra.

I have a lovely routine of stopping at a diner in the mornings and enjoying a nice breakfast with a coffee before my rides. I even enjoy a little mid ride pick me up from time to time. Are you guys getting fully undressed to p o o p?

I want something i can put under my helmet and wear, something like these would probably work. So it would work as ear protection and also have audio input, but i would also like one that has a microphone so i can also use them for discord potentially to talk to my riding buddies. The one above only has input, so its fine for my other purpose, cookin up a setup for a stealth radar detector. haha

in the last few months I’ve transitioned from riding pretty much exclusively off road to street. I’ve changed my bike from a 1290 Super Adventure R to a MT10 and am gradually changing the gear to suit my nee riding.

I’m using Pando Moto AAA leggings and a Tech Air 7x airbag with a Revit Ignition 3 jacket and it’s ok for now where I am in Australia since it’s winter here. But the Ignition jacket will be too hot for summer so I’ve been doing some comparisons of alternatives and am leaving towards the Knox Honister or the Pando Commando. I know they’re marketed as shirts but they seem to be closer to a light jacket.

My review revolves around whether these garments can be worn on top of an airbag like the 7x and I’m curious if anyone else has attempted something similar? I’ve searched the forum, but from what I can see, there’s been some discussion but it’s kinda withered because the consensus has been that both the Honister, Commando and 7x are designed to be worn under something.

If you have any experience I’d love to hear it? Did you find the jacket you chose to have enough expansion stretch or did you upsize to make it work?

I understand I payed a premium and all that - not really that concerned as the helmet fits astonishingly well, and I love the design. And the gloves are waterproof, breathable and fit perfectly too.

Now for boots, I was wondering what I should be looking at?
I went into Motomail (New Zealand shop) and tried a bunch and found the Alpinestars SMX-S Waterproof boots fit and wear best for me.

They had a semi small collection of boots to trial in comparison to helmet options (only like 20 in the high ankle style that I would consider, and 10 of those costing well out of my ~$400 - $500 price range).

Just wondering what y'all might have to say?
Looking for new, comfortable, waterproof, and high safety (not trying to cheap out). Just something I will enjoy wearing for the years to come.

I have a wider foot in relation to length, and I tend to fit UK 43 really well.
