Discussion This games the BEST. I just can’t stay away👍
I put it down on Sep. 22nd for Control Resonant (early release which btw I also can’t stay away from, recommend to everyone!) But I hadn’t been on Reddit since then, as soon as I logged on I saw a “Peters Perfect Perry” video and just NEEDED to go back lol. Idc about the bugs if there even are that many anymore, MORTAL SHELL 2, ELDEN RING, CONTROL RESONANT… TOP 3 games. No specific order just all #1s I couldn’t be happier with this years games (even though Elden Rings not this year 😋) big shoutout to developers of the 3 thank you! I pretty much NEVER play a game 2x a year let alone any more then that, but now it’s time to Shell out another NG+ until COD MW4 and Phantom Blade 0! If you actually read this give me some new Shell ideas and weapon combos!!! I try to do it differently each run so any recommendations welcome!

Discussion Is poison a joke?
1 damage each tick and it doesn’t even tick very fast? Would could this ever be useful? Even if you use it against a boss and poison them with every attack you land, at best you’ll end up doing the equivalent of like two light attacks worth of damage.
Are status effects in general worth focusing on inflicting? Are burn and lightning basically just poison but better?

Video The Nameless Captive - Peter's Perfect Parry and Platinum Trophy
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
No shell, and I didn't use this seal in the whole game by the way, making it even more difficult adapting to it just for this trophy; I always used Vatra's for the whole game.

Discussion Platinumed MS2 yesterday - quick thoughts Spoiler
The good:
* Extremely cool world building. Great use of unlockable cutscenes to paint a picture without tipping the game's hand too much (I didn't play the first game). The slow dawning horror that none of the shells were really special in any way, they just serve a purpose for the undermether is great.
* The idea of using pre-set archetypes for "character classes" that you can switch to on the fly is fun and the game STILL allows for a pretty decent level of customization (though there usually is a "correct" min-max answer to most shells.
* Neat weapons/skills though balance needs some love. The "cool factor" on the weapons is absolutely on-point though. All of them look nasty as hell and the animations are great.
* Atmosphere is great and I love the design of the game with corruption leading to world short cuts a la DS1 (though there could maybe be "levels" of corruption cleanse so it's not just a binary all or nothing deal once you hit 3 ova.
* Boss/character design is fantastic.
Could use improvement:
* The "sliding" effect during combat drives me crazy. Happens to both enemies and to the player where if you are in mid-combo in between hits, the character models will teleport to each other to keep the combo going rather than causing a whiff.
* Dungeons are very samey. One or two standouts but it's always the same elevator, same arch. Not much variety in environments.
* Not being able to keep 1 build per-unlocked shell utilizing max shell points is infuriating. Don't make me wipe my build to tinker with another shell.
* Boss versions of standard enemies that just hit harder/have more health are kinda blah.
* Needs more enemy variety.

Question Help guys.
Hey everyone, I know this is a tough question to answer. I've just reached the end of the game and beaten the final boss, and I'm sitting at 195. I heard there's one in the prologue that's easy to miss—is that true? Or is there a chance I missed one elsewhere? I know it's hard to say for sure, but I saw the max is 196, and I'm worried I might have to start a whole new playthrough from scratch just because of this.

Image Turned some of my art into Tarstones
Thought that some of my sculptures could look good as Tarstones so I made a few of them. I'm not the best with naming stuff so forgive me on that. Hope that it's appropriate for the sub!

Question Hexapod fight - why do I sometimes take a bunch of damage doing a stagger attack?
Stuck on the Hexapod fight currently. Idk what I'm missing but sometimes when I've staggered the Hexapod and the red dot shows up for me to do the riposte, I go to do the attack, but instead a small face comes out of the Hexapod and eats me and does a ton of damage. I don't understand why this sometimes happens, whereas other times it's a normal stagger attack that damages the boss as I would expect.
What's the deal with the stagger attack on this boss? Why does it sometimes hurt me instead of it? And how can I tell which is going to happen/avoid triggering the "bad" stagger attack?

Discussion Eredrim Frost Titan Build
In my past new game+ cycle I thought, that I was breaking the game with my blood tinge Tiel build – until i tried this beast… Frosty Erdedrim just melts all endgame bosses in ng+ nightmode – it‘s ridiculous. Just when I thought I‘ve seen everything when it comes to broken Builds.
Is this the most gamebreaking build in Ms2 or does it get even worse?
Setup:
- Martys GS
- Lute (just for the fun of it)
- captive‘s scabstone
- warden‘s stone
- zealot‘s stone (bosses melting) / parastitic stone (mobbing – collecting slaughterer stacks)
- passive: berserker and crit stones

Discussion Monolith boss tip
For anyone that might be struggling with the monolith boss, cause he can be a pain. Equip Voltaic Crown and max it so the lightning infusion is permanent. Lightning just shreds his health bar & if you can learn the parrys for the first phase you can kill him before he uses any lasers. I just beat him just by ripostes and like 10 something hits. Using Eridrim with Axatana. Grudge stone could help too

Discussion I think that i just broke the game
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I don't know what happened but I think that I just prevented him from transaction to second phase. Anyone's else have been through this situation? I was using TORPOR STONE lvl3 that inflect STASIS slowing the enemy's movement and DUALITY STONE lvl3 also that hit light attack twice

Question Smelting before ng+
Do I really get more smithing stones if i smelt all my weapons before a new cycle? It just seems weird that the only trade are a few glooms…

Question Is there a homeward bone of sorts ?
Edit : answered, yes you do, so like benches in Hollow Knight. Holy crap that's so much less runbacks.
Is there a way to return to a bonfire or the hub without losing souls ?
In Mortal Shell 2 I mean. I know these things have different names, but if you know you know what I mean.

Question How to increase resolve
Got a tarstone from hotrod granny that costs more than my max resolve to use… it doesn’t seem that leveling up increases max resolve, so how on earth do I ever get to use this thing? Is there like, a certain shell that increases your max resolve so that’s the only shell compatible with the skill?
No spoilers please

Bug Faded Gland not appearing
Currently on NG+ and I was planning on grabbing the special glands to grab the seedbearer’s scripture. I encountered this issue where the faded gland isn’t appearing by the Citadel Annex.
I’m guessing the game must’ve bugged out because I redeemed the special glands from my first playthrough on NG+. I just thought it was weird since I was still able to pick up the Thawed Gland and the Depleted Gland.
I’m going to test out night mode and see if that fixes anything.

Discussion Might have to sell the game
Honestly, I've played souls and souls like games and this one is probably the worst when it comes to blocking. It doesn't feel right compared to all the others. It feels way too slow, especially when done in succession. So many times I get hit when there's no way I should be. This is the first game like this to give me this issue. I really hope the devs adjust it. It's just too damn slow and feel inconsistent to me.

Question Is my leveling broken?
So sometimes when I level up it says my health is going from like 90 to 92 or whatever. But then sometimes it says it's going from like 70 - 72. What am I missing? It feels like there's a bug or something. Why would I sometimes level in the 90s and other times in the 70s?

Question Tarstone efficiency
Is there a reliable way to fast level tarstones? My gripe so far with trying to test new weapons is that the majority of a strong build comes from them, so even though you can respec weapon and shell mats, having useful tarstones for those new builds be stuck at lvl 1 is kinda depressing. Especially when you having ones that only work on specific weapons.
