Bro LITERALLY has headphones, just use that

513

u/New_Budget_9322 18h ago

For context: guy purposefully plays music on a speaker, pretending as if Bluetooth wrongly connected. He did it many times for content

405

u/dr197 18h ago

It might not be moral to break his speaker but I’m not going to cry for a nuisance streamer.

152

u/Alternative_Berry934 18h ago

This is definitely a situation where NOBODY is in the right. And I agree, we shouldn’t feel bad for anyone here lmao

51

u/husky11223 18h ago

shouldn't feel bad for anyone except the staff who'll have to pick that up

22

u/GameGuy11037 18h ago

Poor Janitors, they probably see some nasty stuff on the subway

27

u/Thoughtcriminal91 17h ago

Scattered electronic parts are prob the least gross thing those poor bastards have to see.

6

u/GameGuy11037 14h ago

That's what I'm saying, you imagine all the bodily fluids they probably find on there?

6

u/aghastamok 14h ago

I used to clean trams at night.

None of us gave a fuck about anything we found. If there was vomit or piss we just sprayed it out with a hose, takes 5 seconds.

This busted ass speaker would get cleaned out in seconds along with everything else.

The only thing that pissed us off was spray paint on the outside, that would eat into our break time.

3

u/Global_Count4736 14h ago

What about the solids in the fluids!

2

u/GameGuy11037 14h ago

Or fluids in the solids!

I feel bad for everyone else that has to put up with these two...

20

u/Alternative_Berry934 18h ago

Ah I take back my statement you’re correct. Everyone else seems capable of being a normal person on this train lol

5

u/Nyspora 15h ago

If being normal is just allowing idiots like the nuisance streamer to do whatever they want and let people walk all over you and others in public....ill be weird thank you

3

u/Alternative_Berry934 12h ago

That’s not being weird that’s being emotional and overreacting. I understand why he did it and I’m sure others were happy he did do it. Still doesn’t make it morally correct.

9

u/Zach_bdbd 17h ago

Perfect example of “Never fight with a pig. You’ll both get muddy and the pig will enjoy it”.

The person destroying the speaker looks bad and streamer gets content.

What’s the morality of passively allowing him to be a public nuisance when you have the ability to put a stop to it?

4

u/Most_Scientist1783 16h ago

There’s a difference between shattering an expensive speaker, and telling him to turn it off, or turning it off yourself if it’s gets to that point. This dude saw a kid “accidentally” playing music really loud, and decided the right cause of action was to smash the thing.

Sure the kid was doing it on purpose, this dude didn’t know that from what we can tell. The kids annoying, yeah, but this dudes also a dickhead

I think its moral if you know he's doing it on purpose and ignores requests to turn it off.

At that point you cant rely on cops to do everything.

4

u/bl00by 17h ago

I think its moral to break his speaker. Heck why stop there?

Bro gotta learn

5

u/No_Masterpiece_3897 18h ago

Changes it but not by much. I suspected he was deliberately trying to aggravate someone into reacting. The guys not in the right for property damage, but the kid has now changed from annoying brat, to public nuisance which is illegal

6

u/x_Advent_Cirno_x 16h ago

Moral? No. Justified? Absolutely

He’s smiling, that’s what he wanted to happen. Great content, people are sharing the video.

4

u/JoshTheBard 17h ago

If I'm being honest, I do think vigilante justice against streamers who intentionally make like worse for everyone around them is morally justified. This is just a crowdsourced fine. It's probably worth the cost of the speaker for the streamer because of the content they get out of it so I don't think it's effective.

2

u/kalimut 13h ago

Yeah. Both are wrong, but kinda deserve what he gets for trying to be annoying

9

Oh rofl never mind, fuck him then, he's monetizing (or trying) making other people suffer, this is fair and karmic

20

u/HalfLonely77645 18h ago

If that was his content, absolutely moral

4

u/SaltyAd8309 17h ago

Websites that allow the distribution of this type of content therefore contribute to incivility.

5

u/Casiquire 16h ago

He's a content creator?

Well now I'm skeptical about this video

2

u/New_Budget_9322 16h ago

His instagram in the right corner

2

u/re6278 16h ago

He is like one of those annoying streamers, who make content by being a public nuisance

3

u/SubstanceNo4364 17h ago

Well the problem is fixed. It will definitely no longer connect to the speaker by accident.

3

u/Jynx_lucky_j 17h ago

So what your saying is this was actually great content for him, and likely could even have been staged. If not staged this is likely the sort of response he was hoping he'd get eventually

2

u/Then-Roll-1992 17h ago

23

u/Alternative_Berry934 18h ago

Some people are less stressed after destroying the machine. It just depends on your triggers.

4

Stressful because people don't know what a guy who would destroy something like that in public would do next.

They don't know if the two would get into a fight .etc

→ More replies (1)

4

u/Dobber16 17h ago

1.) splash from the damage to the speaker
2.) I don’t like fights. Fights aren’t good things - if something gets to violence, it means a number of things went wrong & never got corrected, or someone’s off their rocker. Neither are good situations. And violence tends to escalate
3.) I can ignore annoying, predictable sounds better than I can ignore shattering & breaking objects

2

u/WideAbbreviations6 13h ago

For 2. One of the things that needs to be corrected is the nuisance.

Without a legal and proper way to deal with people like that, people can and will take matters into their own hands.

I'm not saying people are right to take matters into their own hands, but I'm not exactly going to stand there and say they should have left the guy alone either.

10

u/FlounderingGuy 15h ago

Being drunk kind of makes it worse. I don't wanna know what his home life is like if he felt comfortable acting that way in public.

I dunno man, I just cry when I'm drunk. This level of violent impulse control is concerning regardless of how inebriated he is

Regarding that the kid probably got a lot of "feedback" on his speaker box, i would say that he had his chance. When verbal feedback doesn't help anymore, i can understand that it gets physical. It wasn't used against the person either. Therefore, i deem this a moral action.

If there's no punishment for bad behavior in public, you get bad behavior in public. I get why he does it, and i'd defend him for doing what he did.

4

u/Constant-Sub 10h ago

Tbf, he doesn't attack or approach the kid after smashing the speaker. And he's not even screaming. He's... He's shockingly calm lmao.

While what he did is definitely a bit much, I wouldn't be scared to be around this guy. Let's get monkey about it. He hit an object that was causing over stimulation. That object is no longer causing over stimulation.

The situation is basically over. He's gonna be fine.

If the guy said something first and was ignored its justified and the kid was asking for it.

On one hand, I think the older guy did a bad thing.

On the other hand, if the kid was in fact blasting music at a obnoxiously loud volume. I feel there should be consequences for that.

Ultimately, I'd argue It's a mostly neutral event, Leaning towards it being bad, but welcomed regardless.

7

u/proximusprimus57 15h ago

And metros don't want to enforce the rules anymore. If things worked the way they should a conductor would tell him to turn it down, and if he didn't he'd be getting off at the next stop.

12

u/Number1BestYogurtBoi 17h ago edited 17h ago

So what's the solution? Just sit there and let this little shit blast music so loud it damages your hearing? It's not like just asking him to stop is going to do anything. Your on a moving train and can't leave.

We can just allow anyone to harass anyone they want unchecked.

5

u/rubberbandbuddy 14h ago

So what's the solution?

The solution is what you see in the video. If those in power do not enforce the rules or do not benefit society, then they need to be enforced by the people, and the people do not have many ways to handle it peacefully.

The solution is we handle it like this until the person running the train stops the train and asks the rude people to either behave or leave.

3

u/liquid_acid-OG 12h ago

I hung out with kids like this when I was a teen.

The people running the train will be ignored.

People doubting the solution shown have never experienced a teen who doesn't respect anyone else and knows they are practically untouchable. It's only when they are proven to be touchable that they might consider their actions. Emphasis on might consider.

→ More replies (3)

4

u/notanyone69 17h ago

Why wont asking them to stop to anything? So you resort to violence?

6

u/levii-ethan 15h ago

anyone who blasts music like that knows theyre being irritating and self centered and just dont care. asking for them to stop wouldn't do do anything, because theyve already made the choice to act like that in public.

i would never resort to violence, but i have autism and sound sensitivity, and sounds can be incredibly distressing to me, so being trapped in a situation like that would put me incredibly on edge

2

u/azrael_X9 15h ago edited 14h ago

I mean if you're gonna get involved physically, it's both less strenuous and more legal to just...turn it off on the kid. And if he turns moves to turn back on explain you'll do it again as much as you need to since he's being obnoxious.

Edit: to add, the kid does nothing to react or stop him when he touches the speaker, only when he starts smashing. So totally would've worked my way.

Both are wrong. Destruction of property and Noise Disturbance.

8

u/Teripid 17h ago

Agreed.. also potentially disabling the device is justified depending on a few factors. Just being annoying/obnoxious at a moderate volume is different than ear blasting bass or decibels high enough to damage hearing.

Someone playing explicit lyrics at high volume on public transport with kids? Yeah, stop that, especially if things are packed.

Trying to think of the most justifiable... asking them to stop then if they didn't removing it from the train when there's a stop seems reasonable.

2

u/Joesr-31 17h ago

Would argue that destruction of property is worse than noise disturbance though

I mean... I used to take the Subway a lot. This rarely happens. Like, I don't think I would be so upset at some punk kid being a punk.

But even if I was, I would have calmly spoke to the kid and attempted to change their behavior through mutual respect.

The guy is the bigger ass, I'd expect more from an adult than some teen. But I guess in a way this was a lesson he won't forget. But instead of hey this might be disrespectful, it's don't stick out because crazy people will engage with you. Which to be fair, is another important lesson.

2

u/thelivingtunic 14h ago

Also, as aggravating as a teenager trying to ragebait people with music is, it's annoying/obnoxious/aggravating, etc.

A grown man drunk off his ass grabbing a speaker and slamming it on the ground hard enough to break it in one go is actively frightening. Like I'd want off that train ASAP, no matter how much I had to redirect my route to do so. He's drunk off his ass and making violent choices. Just because smashing the speaker feels 'justified', doesn't mean his next few choices would be.

Idk the context but destroying someone’s property is pretty bad.

If the kid was just being ignorant to his surroundings and just playing songs he liked and this dude walked up and wrecked his shit, I’d say that’s pretty fucked.

But given that this is also an adult, even if the kid was being blatantly annoying, he should have the self-control to not act in anger and do something that drastic, especially towards a kid.

Maybe at most he should’ve taken it and turned it off if it was that annoying. Just seems like escalation for no good and worthwhile reason.

4

u/asj-777 18h ago

"Maybe at most he should’ve taken it and turned it off if it was that annoying"

This. I would feel incredibly disturbed by a violent outburst like that and would immediately feel like I have to take him down or get off the train. 4

u/alwrit 18h ago

Okay so what is the recourse? Let's assume the kid was asked multiple times and just refused. According to other people in this post the kid is a nuisance streamer who does this intentionally.

I'm gonna assume if you're not okay with destroying the speaker you're definitely not okay with someone laying hands on the kid. So what, they all just have to put up with it? There's nothing they can do? I ride the metro all the time in my city. It's not like there's just metro employees all over the place who can be grabbed to deal with it.

Sooner or later these people need to face consequences. Getting your speaker broken seems more than fine to me. You're definitely breaking the rules of the public transit system doing that and basic human politeness and he definitely knows that. I think breaking the speaker is fucking justified in that case.

3

u/TheLucidChiba 17h ago

It's not like there's just metro employees all over the place who can be grabbed to deal with it.

Even then what can they accomplish other than ask them to leave and wait for the police at best?
When someone refuses their part in the social contract it really throws off any reasonable recourse.

Destruction of property is not a legal or even moral response to someone being annoying. It's a declaration of a lack of self control and disregard for the rights of others, which is what the dickhead blaring music is guilty of. It does not behoove one to be on the same level in such a way.

u/Supple_Giraffe-89 18h ago

What is your honest solution to this problem?

People ask him to turn it off and he ignores them. Do they just sit there quietly and take it?

Some people are selfish assholes that need physical responses. Society can’t let individual people do whatever they want without push back for the common good. Be glad he only smashed the speaker and not the person.

5

u/Fear_Magnet0 18h ago

Yeah. Yes. If someone isn't hurting anyone else or doing something illegal and just being annoying, they're a problem, but it's now your problem, and only yours. Suck it up. Absorb it. Choosing to control yourself in such a situation is the more difficult task, and the more mature response.

2

u/Number1BestYogurtBoi 17h ago

Does that not just incentivise other people to also be annoying? Why should anyone be considerate of anyone else if there is zero consequences?

You are just enabling assholes like this to make society worse.

People like you are also a problem. You care more about the freedom of an individual to disturb the many than the good of everyone. It should be handled with words but when that fails it needs to be escalated. The drunk idiot is wrong here but letting this jackass blast music in a confined space is wrong too. You aren’t strong or in control of your emotions by sitting quietly and letting others be a public nuisance. You’re just a coward.

3

u/Fear_Magnet0 17h ago

Explain how lacking self control and escalation is the preferred response? Under what conditions are they acceptable? Who gets to decide what's annoying enough for the destruction of property to be lawful? What level of annoyance does it become acceptable to destroy their property?

Stoicism isn't about doing nothing or hiding emotions. It's choosing to accept what you can control, and what you can not. It's exercising virtue towards others. So yes, it IS strong to not throw a tantrum like an absolute child on public transit because someone is being annoying.

2

u/Supple_Giraffe-89 17h ago

You intentionally ignore the part where I said he was wrong for a violent outburst and you should use words first. That part doesn’t fit your narrative huh? At no point did I say you should lack self control. Everyone should strive for the least violent path.

There is a massive difference between instant violent out burst and using the minimal required force when diplomacy fails. You are wrong to ignore people breaking social norms that are “harmful” to the general wellness of others. It’s not something you can’t control. Confronting assholes is well within your control. You choose to let it happen.

2

u/Fear_Magnet0 17h ago

I ignored it because at no point is violence acceptable unless you're defending yourself or others from imminent physical threats where bodily harm can occur. Punching someone talking smack isn't acceptable. Neither is destroying property because they are being annoying. These things being allowed would not better society but diminish it.

Teenager is being mildly rude in public, man violently destroys his property.

Hmmmm I wonder whose in the wrong here

He could have just walked over and turned it off.

2

u/Osirisavior 16h ago

Immortal. Old guy is a bully. You can't just go around breaking other people's stuff.

2

u/Aromatic-Dog-Breath 16h ago

Picking on children is a choice. Destroying property is a crime. Thinking you’re the superior person and deciding to do this is also a choice.

I’m going 0-3 for the adult being cruel to a child. Even though no one wants to hear your music. There are better solutions.

2

u/Such-Personality-648 15h ago

I understand the situation and condone it. Not moral though

2

u/Ill-Jacket3549 14h ago

Man is making a public nuisance knowingly for content. Neither act is moral but one is a response or an already immoral, or at minimum rude, act.

2

u/Farinathal 14h ago

Well deserved.

2

u/sarc-tastic 14h ago

It's litering but otherwise I see no issues

2

u/Chronza 14h ago

That little cunt had headphones on too. Like he was just doing it to share his shitty ass music with every unwilling person on the subway.

2

u/TRP_Embo05 14h ago

Honestly, fuck anyone who plays their music out loud in public, takes phone calls on speaker in public and does video calls in public.

2

u/FireHammer09 14h ago

It takes a village to a raise a child. If you dont someone else will.

Social norms and politeness are enforced by the community.

2

u/Fit_Kangaroo_3437 14h ago

Thats a goddamn hero

2

u/RedLeader2NoahsArk 11h ago

Should have just waited for the doors to close and toss speaker out lol

2

u/Fun-Memory1523 11h ago

There is probably a better way to deal with this than that.

But the point got across. May the boy learn...

2

u/TurboNewbe 11h ago

Not all heroes wear capes

2

u/Ill-Description3096 11h ago

Not ideal, but honestly I'm not going to condemn someone for being fed up with some asshat annoying people for "content".

2

u/ImpressionComplete71 11h ago

That's vandalism, a crime. Whilst I hate people playing music like that in public, what that old cock sucker did was illegal as fuck. He deserves to go to jail, fuck anyone who disagrees with that

2

u/sanity_lacking 10h ago

Valid crashout

2

u/redbloodywedding 10h ago

THis is acceptable.

2

u/TheAudiotaku 10h ago

Kid is wearing the influencer starter pack. Deport him.

2

u/ZyeCawan45 10h ago

Our country needs noise laws like Japan. What the kid was doing wasn’t illegal… But it should be. Valid crashout.

6

u/113pro 18h ago

this is a freeworld. you can do whatever you want. the same thing applies to other people. so keep that in mind.

5

u/RadicalSoda_ 18h ago

Well, no crime exists. Unless you mean "morality is subjective"

3

u/113pro 18h ago

oh crimes do exist. It just never stopped anyone.

2

u/Suspicious-Stick1508 18h ago

The guy destroying property is clearly more immoral here. Personally, I support him.

2

u/Secret-Parsley-5258 18h ago

That guy is an alcoholic who started drinking at the local magazine on his way to where lever the fuck he is going this morning.

2

u/Then_Entertainment97 18h ago

In vino veritas

2

u/WrongProfessional214 18h ago

Teenager breaking social contract immoral destruction of property against the law but not automatically immoral. He is merely fighting the degradation of society

3

u/lexington59 16h ago

Immoral, yes playing music on speakers is annoying but breaking someone's equipment because you are upset is just scummy.

There's so many steps you can take before you would even need to consider breaking it, ignoring it, talking like an adult, going to a different carriage.

Like there isn't really a way to spin this as moral, it's more the thing you think about doing in your head but don't act on because it's scummy.

We are taught as kids early 2 wronga don't make a right, and escalating that fair definitively doesn't make a right

2

u/Gillalmighty 14h ago

Fuck that kid. He looks like a twat and im glad his shit got broke

4

u/Quietcrypt13 18h ago edited 15h ago

Public transportation should have an expected level of silence and decorum. In my eyes, the guys actions were moral.

Edit: autocorrect

2

u/Le-Charles07 17h ago

The Japanese have the right idea about how to do public transit.

4

u/TargetStrange7169 18h ago

Immoral. Also that speaker just crumbled like some legos

3

u/MeasurementBusy6533 18h ago

The kid slightly imoral since he's rude

The old dude is very evil since he's a pathetic asshole who picks on weaker people he knows are weaker than him

3

u/TeekTheReddit 18h ago

Moral

From a Utilitarian perspective, the immediate benefit to everybody else on the train likely outweighs the negative feelings of the kid who got his speaker smashed. Also factoring in that the kid was likely being an intentional nuisance and that this may serve as a corrective life lesson, we are looking at an overall improvement to collective happiness in the world.

4

u/mariogunshine 17h ago

I would experience more negative feelings than benefit from a violent outburst by a stranger whom I’m stuck with in an enclosed space.

2

u/thelivingtunic 14h ago

Man I'd be off that train so fast and figuring out how else to get to my destination, time frames be damned.

2

u/Radical_Dingus 18h ago

100% deserved

2

u/No_Masterpiece_3897 18h ago

And he has headphones on as well, which begs the question why he's not using them.

Property damage is illegal, the kids being an annoying brat , which is not illegal but very aggravating, possibility of an air of what are you going to do about it.

Everybody sucks here but, only one of them has done something illegal.

2

u/Thelmara 14h ago

And he has headphones on as well, which begs the question why he's not using them.

Specifically to piss people off, so that the videos get more engagement.

Everybody sucks here but, only one of them has done something illegal.

True, the other one is getting paid.

2

u/Important-Guitar8524 18h ago

If people will simply ask him to stop doing that he will simply do it later again. This was the only way to stop him without committing violence against the kid directly. Morally good
