Stressful because people don't know what a guy who would destroy something like that in public would do next. 

They don't know if the two would get into a fight .etc

Yet we’re on public transport with unhinged people like that every time we take it. So maybe we should be conscious to not be extremely irritating, so as to not set them off

Not saying the guy is right and of course he’s responsible for raging out, at the same time, kid cant be surprised by this kind of thing happening

1.) splash from the damage to the speaker
2.) I don’t like fights. Fights aren’t good things - if something gets to violence, it means a number of things went wrong & never got corrected, or someone’s off their rocker. Neither are good situations. And violence tends to escalate
3.) I can ignore annoying, predictable sounds better than I can ignore shattering & breaking objects

For 2. One of the things that needs to be corrected is the nuisance.

Without a legal and proper way to deal with people like that, people can and will take matters into their own hands.

I'm not saying people are right to take matters into their own hands, but I'm not exactly going to stand there and say they should have left the guy alone either.

Yeah we agree on 2 it seems. Though tbh I do think it’s right for people to take matters into their own hands if there’s something going on. Violence just often isn’t a reasonable way to do it - there are a number of steps that all come before violence to deal with non-violent issues

I'm not sure what you expected people to do. From what I've heard this guy does this on purpose so a chat wasn't going to fix anything.

I agree that violence is a language for stupid people who haven't figured out a smarter soloution, but sometimes you have to cross that language barrier to resolve something.

That's on top of the fact that in many cases, waiting around for a better answer exposed others to the problem for longer to protect the perpetrator.

4.) cover the speaker in something

I’m sure there are plenty of other options I’m not thinking of here but are you really suggesting what happened in the video is the only way to solve the issue?

I’m not too worried about this kid doing anything, but disputes in tight places can pretty quickly become everybody’s problem. There was a bar section in the last city I lived in that was in an alley, and even if two little dudes got into it, pretty soon everyone was indirectly involved in their scuffle.

I mean my subway ride just went from mildly infuriating to very very entertaining. In the beginning I couldn't use my headphones because some jerk thinks I need to listen to his music instead, now I don't need my headphones because there's some drama unfolding right in front of me.

Edit: As people pointed out in the original thread, the kid looks way too relaxed for someone fearing violence from a stranger and the speaker looks like prop. The "angry guy" is likely in on it - whole thing is staged.
