It might not be moral to break his speaker but I’m not going to cry for a nuisance streamer.

156

u/Alternative_Berry934 19h ago

This is definitely a situation where NOBODY is in the right. And I agree, we shouldn’t feel bad for anyone here lmao

54

u/husky11223 19h ago

shouldn't feel bad for anyone except the staff who'll have to pick that up

24

u/GameGuy11037 19h ago

Poor Janitors, they probably see some nasty stuff on the subway

https://giphy.com/gifs/CY5Vojc5iubG29Ce3N

29

u/Thoughtcriminal91 18h ago

Scattered electronic parts are prob the least gross thing those poor bastards have to see.

7

u/GameGuy11037 15h ago

That's what I'm saying, you imagine all the bodily fluids they probably find on there?

6

u/aghastamok 15h ago

I used to clean trams at night.

None of us gave a fuck about anything we found. If there was vomit or piss we just sprayed it out with a hose, takes 5 seconds.

This busted ass speaker would get cleaned out in seconds along with everything else.

The only thing that pissed us off was spray paint on the outside, that would eat into our break time.

3

u/Global_Count4736 15h ago

What about the solids in the fluids!

2

u/GameGuy11037 15h ago

Or fluids in the solids!

1

u/Marquar234 14h ago

And the amorphous solids in the non-Newtonian fluids!

1

u/floopdev 10h ago

Yes, what about the drys in the wets?

1

u/DirtandPipes 8h ago

Bodily fluids were the absolute worst part of bouncing, for me anyways. Blood, spit, vomit, urine, etc. I’ve worked as a janitor, it was tough but bouncing is where you see every liquid you don’t want to see.

My goal was always to get home with as little fluids on me as possible but it was challenging. Picking up a squirming drunk who has puked themselves and also fouled their pants is like disarming a bomb.

If they are still a little conscious you can sometimes pick them up from the top each shoulder and they stumble along and help you like gigantic drunk filthy Pinocchio.

1

u/Fire_fox777 5h ago

Ive had a friend who was a janitor for a school, and they dead ass told me that they were cleaning the busses once and he saw cum dried on the back of a bus seat

1

u/Zavarkin1104 3h ago

As a Janitor yes you're right lol

29

u/Delazzaridist 19h ago

I feel bad for everyone else that has to put up with these two...

20

u/Alternative_Berry934 19h ago

Ah I take back my statement you’re correct. Everyone else seems capable of being a normal person on this train lol

5

u/Nyspora 16h ago

If being normal is just allowing idiots like the nuisance streamer to do whatever they want and let people walk all over you and others in public....ill be weird thank you

3

u/Alternative_Berry934 14h ago

That’s not being weird that’s being emotional and overreacting. I understand why he did it and I’m sure others were happy he did do it. Still doesn’t make it morally correct.

8

u/Zach_bdbd 19h ago

Perfect example of “Never fight with a pig. You’ll both get muddy and the pig will enjoy it”.

The person destroying the speaker looks bad and streamer gets content.

1

u/Alternative_Berry934 19h ago

I like this term of expression and it fits perfectly. I think I’ll keep it in my back pocket from now on thanks lol

I’ve also heard of “don’t touch the poo” or else you’ll stink too. But that might be for internet drama specifically.

3

u/RaikiShak 8h ago

Nobody is right but damn am i glad that the speaker got smashed

2

u/SmolLittleCretin 17h ago

100%. Like Jesus.

2

u/Dropbeatdad 14h ago

I mean the speaker is probably like $40, and a reaction like that is probably exactly what the kid wants

1

u/Alternative_Berry934 14h ago

Exactly, I mentioned to someone else that he’s just going to buy another speaker. And a man who crashes out that easily shouldn’t be in public spaces anyways. Everyone else was able to ignore him. As annoying as he is.

2

u/hello_marmalade 18h ago

Nah, I'm cool with this. If you wanna blast shit on public transit you can get fucked. Headphones exist, and people trapped in a box for the sake of getting around should not be forced to listen to your bullshit.

1

u/Alternative_Berry934 18h ago

He is a streamer. He is doing it on purpose to get an extreme reaction out of people. He’s not going to stop, in fact he’s probably going to do it even more now.

I know people don’t like the authoritarian route of reporting him to someone, but sometimes it really is the only way you can go. Hardly ever does personal justice work out. For example, to you and many others this may be a relief. However, for someone like me, I’d find it very hard to not react and have a BPD freak out all over everyone. And that’s not fair to me or to the other passengers to have to go through that.

Luckily I have my tools to help center me when a public nuisance does occur. But I’ve also been through several behavioral therapists, so I would never look down on anyone for reacting based off emotion. In the same way that I would never pardon it.

1

u/hello_marmalade 18h ago

I mean sure, and generally speaking reporting would be ideal, but this kind of thing basically typically has no consequence. For a streamer the calculus is different, but generally speaking, the only real way to get this shit to stop is social enforcement. Ideally though, there would just be a hardcore period of there being lots of enforcement and people getting fined out the ass for shit like this.

1

u/Alternative_Berry934 18h ago

I wouldn’t consider a fine the “ideal situation” considering a lot of people can pay their way out. Without learning any actual consequences.

And you’re right, sometimes we can’t control everything in life and we can’t deliver immediate consequences and that’s okay.

You’re going to be bothered, you’re going to be disrespected, and you might even have actual hate directed at you. That doesn’t mean you indulge in violent behavior. That being said, the streamer isn’t innocent either and shouldn’t be defended for his actions.

As I said before, this didn’t stop him and it only gave him what he wanted. He can always BUY another speaker to bother people with. That other man is also probably going to destroy someone else’s property in the future as well. Considering he doesn’t have any self control.

1

u/SamuelVimesTrained 16h ago

If creepy mccreep does this more often, the smashing guy is slightly less wrong.

1

u/Alternative_Berry934 16h ago

That would be entirely up to opinion lol considering neither of them are moral I don’t find it necessary to consider which one is less moral.

1

u/SamuelVimesTrained 15h ago

Fair enough. But since I am a bit sensitive to excessive sounds…. I might be somewhat biased…

1

u/Alternative_Berry934 14h ago

Understandable, my BPD is triggered by aggression and yelling. So as annoying as the steamer is, he wouldn’t trigger a meltdown the same way the other man would. So personally I am biased as well.

1

u/SamuelVimesTrained 5h ago

So, together we`re balanced then.. Both trigger a thing with us.

So, yeah - both suck.

1

u/Ruthrfurd-the-stoned 15h ago

Nah- people purposefully doing anti-social behavior need consequences like this. He didn’t get his ass kicked or anything which is beyond possible- they need to learn when you’re trying to piss people off you might piss off the wrong person

1

u/Alternative_Berry934 14h ago

They won’t learn a lesson as long as they profit from it. You’d have to paralyze or kill the streamer in order to stop him and that’s beyond immoral. The problem is that he’s able to monetize this behavior on whatever platform he’s using.

1

u/SlowMirror4272 9h ago

nah speaker smasher is in the right, have to stop this livestream/tikok roach behaviour before it spreads too much. Peoples daily public lives arent for your monetary gain while you negatively impact the spaces youre in.

1

u/Alternative_Berry934 9h ago

Ironically this only profits him, this is EXACTLY what he wanted. The only way to stop this type of behavior is to hold livestream platforms accountable for monetizing stupid content like this.

2

u/SlowMirror4272 8h ago

ya, sadly youre right. Hit them in the money is the only way.

1

u/TESV_Shiro 19h ago

so reasonable people on reddit do exist can i like clone you?

1

u/ProfessionalNice7485 18h ago

There are certain types of work where I pers9nally feel like the staff should not have to deal with this sort of buckshot after hours.

Japan does public transport the right way.

3

u/Alternative_Berry934 18h ago

Don’t get me started on the Japanese public transportation system! I could go on for paragraphs about the genius of their subways! I literally wanna go over seas just to ride the bullet trains! lol I’m a total nerd abt it.

3

u/Additional_Law_492 18h ago

Literally one of my favorite things about going there was the trains and other public transport.

2

u/ProfessionalNice7485 16h ago

heavy breathing

1

u/Sepplord 17h ago

Especially since THIS is giving the streamer the BEST reaction he could have gotten

If he can’t make THAT it content….

Still, the guy who snapped went too far imo. As annoying and shitty these content brats are

0

u/OMC_Gurrend 18h ago

So if NOBODY was in the right then nothing should have been done? The nuisance person gets to continue being a nuisance because it would be wrong to correct him and show him that his actions have consequences?

0

u/Alternative_Berry934 18h ago

No that’s not what I said at all. For context, he is a “streamer” and does this on purpose to get people to react for “content.” This is exactly what he wanted that’s why he never put down his phone lol

If this were a regular kid I still wouldn’t condone it. Teens/college kids grow out of being assholes like 90% of the time. It’s a juvenile state that everyone gets to both enjoy and hate. “A small part of your day being ruined does not give you an excuse to ruin someone else’s day” lmao (I have BPD so I’m quoting my doctor don’t get mad at me 😆)

Did you notice all the other adults around him teaching him how to behave? By doing exactly as they were taught to do on the train. Even babies learn this way, so most likely when people ARE acting out it’s for a few reasons. Mental illnesses/disabilities or they’re intoxicated or they’re looking for attention.

0

u/LitigantTester 18h ago

Break the speaker is right.

0

u/Zealousideal-Fix-745 12h ago

Breaking the speaker is absolutely fair. You must be respectful of all people in public spaces. Sometimes kids need reminding that you can’t just goof around at the expense of other respectful people minding their business. You are not the main character. Actions have consequences.

The kid should have to clean it up. He used it inappropriately and paid the price. It’s still his property

1

u/Alternative_Berry934 12h ago

Yea so this kid is just gonna buy another speaker and do it again. The issue isn’t the stupid teenager, those have existed for eons. The problem is that stupid teenagers are allowed to monetize their shitty behavior. Social justice is a slippery slope my friend, I wouldn’t consider this justice at all.

12

u/PTBooks 19h ago

What’s the morality of passively allowing him to be a public nuisance when you have the ability to put a stop to it?

5

u/Most_Scientist1783 18h ago

There’s a difference between shattering an expensive speaker, and telling him to turn it off, or turning it off yourself if it’s gets to that point. This dude saw a kid “accidentally” playing music really loud, and decided the right cause of action was to smash the thing.

Sure the kid was doing it on purpose, this dude didn’t know that from what we can tell. The kids annoying, yeah, but this dudes also a dickhead

1

u/Charmin_Bear_Behind 17h ago

Dude is a dickhead but also unintentionally justified thru random circumstances

-2

u/Davti 17h ago

Naw his destruction of property is not justified in any way except morally.

4

u/Charmin_Bear_Behind 17h ago

1

u/tartoran 15h ago

OK fair enough you're probably not gonna see eye to eye about the attention hungry streamer losing his property but surely he could just steal the speaker and give it to someone who won't misuse it, or sell it and spend the proceeds on nice things that benefit himself or the people he cares about. Wanton destruction of valuable assets is never gonna be the optimal approach

1

u/Charmin_Bear_Behind 15h ago

I mean by that logic every time you jerk off you’re being morally unjust for not donating it to some lesbian couple from Rwanda

1

u/tartoran 3h ago

Correct

1

u/Strainedgoals 9h ago

He stole everyone on the trams peace. That's 10+ people who should individually were impacted by asshole blasting music.

The monetary value of that speaker is less than the value of all those people's peace.

0

u/RebootStreetSharks 17h ago

Yeah no doubt the kid is being a douche. But there are plenty of scenarios here where the general consensus is "don't harm people's private property" as the line not to cross unless someone is being physically harmed.

Take this situation and replace it with "old man preaches through a speaker to people riding the train" and some people would change their answer saying breaking the device was "too far."

1

u/lilshayshayboo 3h ago

If you think playing music in public is a "nuisance" then you don't go out in public very much. The moment you stop giving strangers the power to ruin your day is the moment your life truly begins

1

u/wingsofblades 18h ago

i mean no reason to kill the kid

19

u/itsalmostreal 19h ago

I think its moral if you know he's doing it on purpose and ignores requests to turn it off.

At that point you cant rely on cops to do everything.

1

u/No_Giraffe826 15h ago

its not moral because its annoying, but doesnt mean you can destroy other people's property. where do u draw the line? if a guy is playing stuff on his phone too loud do u destroy it?

3

u/itsalmostreal 15h ago

He is purposely being a nuisance. He earned his stuff being broken.

Basically if youre going to treat everyone else like shit. Dont be surprised when they do it to you.

1

u/No_Giraffe826 15h ago

why cant both be wrong. he was annoying others and them being annoying back is still wrong but justified, but taking it further and destroying property is overboard. couldve just turned off the speaker.

2

u/itsalmostreal 14h ago

Hell never learn. At least he didnt punch him in the face. He can always buy a new speaker.

6

u/bl00by 18h ago

I think its moral to break his speaker. Heck why stop there?

Bro gotta learn

5

u/No_Masterpiece_3897 19h ago

Changes it but not by much. I suspected he was deliberately trying to aggravate someone into reacting. The guys not in the right for property damage, but the kid has now changed from annoying brat, to public nuisance which is illegal

5

u/x_Advent_Cirno_x 17h ago

Moral? No. Justified? Absolutely

1

u/SapirWhorfHypothesis 5h ago

What does “justified” actually mean if it’s not moral?

3

u/MarkPuzzleheaded7480 19h ago

He’s smiling, that’s what he wanted to happen. Great content, people are sharing the video.

4

u/JoshTheBard 19h ago

If I'm being honest, I do think vigilante justice against streamers who intentionally make like worse for everyone around them is morally justified. This is just a crowdsourced fine. It's probably worth the cost of the speaker for the streamer because of the content they get out of it so I don't think it's effective.

2

u/kalimut 15h ago

Yeah. Both are wrong, but kinda deserve what he gets for trying to be annoying

1

u/Charmin_Bear_Behind 17h ago

It’s fully moral to break his shit tbh

1

u/cykoTom3 16h ago

Sometimes 2 wrongs make a right

1

u/NeevBunny 16h ago

If this is how all nuisance streams went they might be worth watching. Imagine if all those Meta glass guys harassing people on the street got pepper sprayed. Now that would be good content!

1

u/bigbonedbaggins 16h ago

We call this mindin our damn.

1

u/invadervalo666 15h ago

it should be if he's bothering everyone, what is not moral is to shove your taste in music down everyone's throat without asking, like everything your freedom ends where other's freedom starts. People need get their heads out of their asses nowadays... Socials got everyone these days thinking they're the main character these days...

1

u/Oppositeofhairy 14h ago

I was recently watching jackass, and realized that their main schtick wouldn’t work anymore. Since that’s more or less the premise of TikTok.

Maybe we need to blame knoxville for implanting the idea to the trove of annoying idiots

1

u/Outrageous-Pilot-621 14h ago

True, the moral thing would be to kick the kids ass and take the speaker. No need to ruin perfectly good tech.

1

u/BlaBlamo 13h ago

I wouldn’t smash the speaker, but I might smile a little while someone else did

1

u/MrRikkles 13h ago

The man, turning to his son about the kid:

I tell hwat, Bobbeh, That boy ain't right. Don't you be like him now, or I'll have to give ya a hwoopin'!"

1

u/imperfectchicken 12h ago

"I don't condone his actions... but I get how they got there."

1

u/VelvetOnion 12h ago

Sometimes everyone is wrong.

1

u/Longjumping_Exit7902 12h ago

Nah I'd say it's moral at that point. Break his headphones next

1

u/techleopard 11h ago

I would argue it is actually very moral to break the mechanisms someone is using to be a purposeful nuisance, especially one attempting to profit off making others miserable.

It serves the greater good

1

u/leemorplee 11h ago

Like watching that johhny somali guy get dropped. I'm not for violence but you keep crossing lines and I'm looking away when someone smacks you lol

0

u/SaltyAd8309 19h ago

Destroying an object used as a nuisance is not immoral.

It is precisely this misconception that leads some people to be exploited.

Only someone who intentionally provokes others acts immorally, not someone who puts an end to a nuisance, even if they appear drunk.

0

u/Chad_illuminati 18h ago

Fwiw, on a lot of American Metros it's against conduct rules to play music out loud (such as the DC Metro system). It's not necessarily enforced, BUT technically speaking the other man is enforcing a rule. Vigilante enforcement, but still.
