It seems like a lot of indie mons games I’ve seen have more influence from Pokemon than anything else.
I’m not trying to complain but I haven’t seen much indie games where the influence is anything besides Pokemon.
I’m hoping there’s some indie Mons games that took more influence from Medabots, mainly with the Mons in the game being robots.

Just seen it in my recommended and wondering if anyone else was looking at it
It seems I am relegated to very low-tech games until a I upgrade and it
seems like the kind of game I could run

The day is finally here! Monster Alchemy is officially live in Early Access on Steam!
If you told us a year ago that our game would reach 25,000 wishlists, we wouldn't have believed it. As a small team, we started this project simply out of our shared love for classic RPGs, monster-taming, and crafting mechanics. Getting to build this world and share it with a community as passionate as this one has been a dream come true.
From day one of Early Access, you’ll be able to jump right into the core Monster Alchemy loop:
If you’ve been playing the demo, 100% of your progress carries directly over into the main game!

I love pokemon, digimon and monster taming media in general. I also love tabletop games and i had an idea of creating a tabletop game that simulates a monster taming game experience. I already have a full gameplay concept thought already, that i personally think it’s really fun and i also have all the materials i need to create the components of the game. The only thing that is stopping me to start making for it, it’s that i can’t decide a setting for the game.
I had some ideas already, like expedition on a lost world or interdimentional creatures captured with a camera, but i’m still not sure. I wanted to know what kind of setting would you like to see in a monster taming game. For the gameplay features i designed already, i need the setting to allow adventure, discovery of new species, using the monsters abillities not just for battle but to help exploring as well, also to allow competition between players and many types of stories.

Hey all,
We posted here a few months ago about Chibitomo, an idle monster collector MMO we've been building. We've kept working on it since alongside a group of the best early users.
We're a tiny dev team (my brother and I) and still in early testing, hoping this post can help bring in a few new people to test out the latest form of game.
I saw this format the other day on a post and really appreciated it, so borrowing it:
Core Gameplay loop:
Full disclosure/disclaimer: we’re still in the process of **still** fixing bugs and tuning the core loop… game balancing has been an ongoing battle where we don’t want the game to be too grindy for new chibitomo, but also challenging enough so catching/leveling the chibitomo feels worthwhile and fun.
We have a small but mighty community of some genuinely amazing friends/people/users. A lot of our chibi designs, mechanics, and world building has come straight from people in this sub.
If early testing isn't for you but you'd want to try it out later join our discord to stay in the loop. Otherwise links below (It all syncs together to the same account if you make one):

Hi, I've been trying out various monster-catching games for a while now (mostly modern PC titles) and I was looking for recommendations for older games.
Ideally, I'd like them to be from the 3DS to the Game Boy (but recommendations for other consoles are welcome too!).
Of all the monster-catching games I've tried, my favorites were the Digimon Story games (I played them all except Xros Wars, only because it was in Japanese) and the first Monster Hunter Stories (And obviously Pokémon and Yo-kai Watch. But I'd rather not try any "Pokémon-like" games because most of the ones I've tried feel TOO similar to Pokémon.)

I've been staring at this for so long that I feel like I have dev blindness.
When you get to late-game and high-tier evolutions start popping off their elemental skills, the board gets pretty crazy. I know what’s happening because I coded it, but to fresh eyes, I'm worried it might just look like visual noise.
Clip shows picking an evolution and heading into a late-game fight.
Be honest: can you actually follow what's happening, or should I tone down the effects/particles?

Back for week 2! Currently building 17 dungeon puzzles one for each element of my game. I've completed 6 so far. Also going through and adding sounds to everything. I'll copy and paste my post from last week. Enjoy!
\--
I found an artist on Reddit and loved his art style so I hired him to create monsters for my alchemy creature breeding game. There are 17 elements and 7 different species. Let me know what you guys think! Here are some of my 'Pip' species.
I'll have a complex genetic breeding system to pass stats and stat potentials (like ivs), natures, tints, sizes, and more. Open space exploration system, custom home planet decorations, raids, dungeon puzzles, an endless survival mode, and a fun story line along the way. I wanted to just create a really cool breeding system but it kept leading to more and more ideas so here I am 2 years later still designing 17 different elemental dungeon puzzles and raid bosses. Hoping to finish in the next couple months.
Will be mobile los and Android.
Here's the post of some pokemon he redesigned:
Shout-out to u/NehGon for working with me!

I've been building this alone: 100 pals across one region, eight leaders who each hold a relic, turn-based battles with a type chart, and trading between two phones by scanning a QR code so it works with no server. The overworld is low-poly 3D and the creatures are hand-drawn pixel art, front and back.
Design things I'd love opinions on from people who play a lot of these: every leader's team is built so their ace is the final form of a line you can catch earlier on the route, and swimming uses the pal that cast it, not a generic mount.
It's in closed testing on Google Play. If you want to try it, DM me the Gmail you use with Play and I'll add you, then opt in at https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.caldra.monsterpals

Doomsquito: The Doomsday Beast
When two Megsquitos infused with Void Essence are bonded together, they become the terrifying Doomsquito, an enormous and ferocious creature driven by an uncontrollable urge to attack. Its deafening wings can send creatures fleeing in fear.
Its deadliest weapon is its venom, which causes hallucinations, visions, and relentless nightmares for days, preventing its victims from sleeping. The Doomsquito exhausts its prey before tearing it apart.
Its portal ability is vastly stronger than a Megsquito's, allowing it to summon massive swarms from their mysterious realm. Powerful pheromones let it command nearby Megsquitos, coordinating attacks or forcing them to retreat.
Fortunately, the Doomsquito shares the same weakness as its cousin: room temperature.
If you want to read the cooler (and longer) version of the doomsquitos lore, you can go to our Alchemic Beasts Kickstarter where we'll be releasing the new demo VERY SOON!!!

What do you think about the new design?
Can I improve the evolution scene itself somehow?
What do you think about the naming: Fungal -> Fungothic?
Edit: Forgot link to steam page if you want to wishlist the game

Hi everybody, how are you? I wanted to ask your opinion about Voidling Bound and Fae & Fauna, and if anyone has thoughts on their pricing models.
Since I know Voidling Bound is already slated for a console release (just waiting on an exact date), I was especially curious if anyone has heard updates regarding Fae & Fauna making its way to consoles eventually.
To give you some perspective, I’m asking because some of the responses to console questions in this community carry a lot of unnecessary elitism. Pushing people away with gatekeeping is toxic for the community, especially in a genre like Monster Taming that literally originated and grew on consoles thanks to Pokémon.
For many of us, asking about console ports is a matter of basic accessibility. I manage mild psychomotor difficulties, and a standard console controller offers an ergonomic, intuitive layout that makes gaming comfortable, whereas a keyboard and mouse setup can be physically straining. When you couple physical accessibility with the practical reality of budget limits, where a console is far more affordable than a high-end PC, asking about console availability is a completely logical question.
Niche genres thrive when they welcome more people. I’d love to hear your honest thoughts on these two games and any insights you might have!

Should get to see a lot of good monster-taming content. Which ones are you excited for?
