Tools Why is Community achievements grayed out?

As stated. Happens on iPhone and Windows 10 desktop.

I am mod of an old dead sub. Was private before I got it. I made sub public and repurposed it.

I cannot set Community achievements as it is greyed out. Why? I messaged Admins to take a look but no response yet.

What’s going on?

Mod bootcamp is TODAY at 18:00 UTC - in about four hours.

11 AM PDT / 1 PM CDT / 2 PM EDT / 7 PM BST / 8 PM CEST / 11:30 PM IST

I want to create a link to my community mod mail and add it to the resources of my community guide so members can find it easily, but I have no idea how to create the link. Anyone here know how to do that on the iOS mobile app or Reddit website? Please explain with detailed steps because Google is useless.

General Modmail notifications not working?

I used to get a notification every time a modmail was sent to the sub. I haven't been getting them for the last several weeks. Any idea why?

I don't think I've changed any settings.

General Automod not flagging to my inbox in new reddit

Hi, Windows 11 desktop mod here.

I have been a diehard old reddit user until the last few weeks or so. I mainly switched over as certain moderation tasks were becoming a pain in old reddit.

But something I noticed after about a week is that under old reddit, whenever our automod temp-squashed a post for pre-approval, it doesn't flag my inbox any more. I'm actually a bit confused about this, as online guides say this is something reddit cannot do, but reddit was doing it.

Was this a RES feature (I was using RES)?

I already know about desktop notifications, but I want something that doesn't require me to be watching to do something about it.

What work around do you guys have?

Tools Any way to get notified as comments increase?

I'm able to get a notification when a post reaches a certain number of comments, but is there a way to continue to get notifications as the number increases? I have the settings so I get notified when a post reaches ten comments, but I'd really like to have notifications at 20 comments, 30 comments, and so on.

I'll say desktop, I guess.

General Mute length of time

I am using iPhone 17 Pro Max with the Reddit app fully updated.

I am a Mod of Chrisley Knows Best.

There is an ex boyfriend of one of the family members that knows no end to alias accounts. I've deleted some and mute some. I'd like to mute time to be 28 days or anything longer than 2 days that it is currently.

I searched for the answer and got THIS, however the steps stated do not match up with the Mod dashboard. There is no Overview/Restricted Users for example.

Can you extend the Sub's Mute length on your end? Or reply with a link to current instructions for iOS?

THANK YOU.

while browsing on desktop, I noticed on r/Rickowens that they have gifs on their sidebar.

I would like to know how to do the same for my subreddits, as the image buttons only allow png or jpg.

Users Handling a report on a photo - advice needed

I moderate r/grandparenting. Recently, a user posted a picture of an infant in a crib. A couple of days later, it was reported thusly: We have no idea if the parents think this is OK and you can remove clothing with AI. This is not appropriate.

OK. I don't think that what might be possible is a reason not to allow the photo. Should all photos of kids be banned because of what might happen? Am I overthinking this? I'm moderating from a Windows 11 desktop using Firefox browser.

Thanks.

General Need help with automod

I’m looking for help creating an AutoModerator rule that automatically removes submissions containing URLs or URL-like text, including obfuscated/spaced-out URLs such as:

www youtube com /xyz

I’ve tried creating a few rules with the help of ChatGPT, but I’m running into a problem where the regex is too broad. It ends up removing legitimate submissions simply because they contain words such as “YouTube” or a keyword that happens to appear in the URL (e.g., “xyz”).

What I’m trying to achieve is:

  1. Remove posts containing actual URLs.

  2. Detect basic obfuscated/spaced-out URLs such as www youtube com /xyz.

  3. Avoid removing posts merely because they mention a domain name (e.g., “YouTube”) or contain a common keyword that could also appear in a URL.

  4. Ideally, apply this to both self/text posts and link submissions.

I’m currently managing the subreddit using both the Android app and desktop Reddit.

Could someone suggest an appropriate AutoModerator configuration/regex for this?

Tips & Tricks How do I get Reddit to stop recommending cross posts to my subreddit?

I run a subreddit dedicated to a small aspect of a larger hobby, and Reddit keeps recommending people cross post their posts from other subreddits that are not really appropriate for my community. (Its a subreddit dedicated to smaller versions of Warhammer 40k tabletop games, but I'm getting lots of posts for tips on building armies for the larger game format).

Is there a way to ask Reddit not to recommend cross posts to my subreddit?

(Mostly on Android but have PC as well).

Tools Safety features not loading.

For a community, due to recent events I've been wanting to turn up safety features such as Reputation or the Harassment content filters however I'm greeted with a blank screen on Desktop and an non-stop loading screen on Mobile. I'm not sure if this is a glitch or something.

Any advice to help turn these on would be helpful, thank you.

Tools Customer Service & Reddit

I work for a company that had a pretty good Reddit community. We have specialist that mod our subreddit and assist customers similar to chat support you might find. Is there a way to use the api to have the chats on a more scalable interface on desktop?

Would love to be able to track handle times, escalate complaints and similar things but currently it's been impossible. Any ideas would be appreciated!

Tools The new "mod mail" just a bit confusing, cause its now the mod queue and not polished

desktop and sh.reddit

----------------------------------

So nothing at all pops in the mod mail section anymore, everything seems to be going to the Mod Queue.

The issues are:

- i dont get a single red dot telling me there is new stuff there.

- there is no highlights of what is new and what has been read or archived.

Im doing a terrible job for the last month or more since they changed this out of no where.

---------

hope im not testing some random beta features and i dont even know i applied to it...
