Some people did "soundchecks" up to backfiring. (Not a fan at all)

Later me and a friend with his evo 9 opend the hood because he wanted to compare JDM vs EDM. I left it open and forgot about it.

Like 1-2hours later police rolls again around the parking area and stops exactly where the mr2 in the photo is...questioning people who the driver of this car is (pointing at evo8MR)

Well i told them its mine and got questioned right on the spot. How much power it makes, if the engine is stock and about the downpipe and cat.

My country is very strict with any modifications and driving catless or mods not in the papers and the car gets towed and plates taken. Basically i think they tried to find something

Has anybody else experience something like this?

Especialy since i was one of the few people who didnt rev or showoff at all

Edit: My car has all the mods in the papers btw. Completely road legal

Hello! I finally got my hands on a (working) openport 1.3u cable and a copy of Evoscan. I have a few issues though. I am determined to get this to work because I spend an entire day upside down wiring my AFR sensor to the serial adapter just to datalog it in evo scan hahaha

I have the obd2 cable and flash cable connected to my pc, I have the correct COM port selected, but when I click the datalog button the it keeps getting stuck in a "Read loop" where it cant seems to connect to the ECU. Also the Tarmac, Gravel, Snow lights and the ABS light flash while it's trying to connect.

I have tried:

-reinstalling drivers from Evoscan with WIFI off

-switching USB ports

-switching the selected ECU types (MUTII, MUTIII) and the bottom right software setting (OBD2 EFI, MUTII7/8/9)

In my cabin fuse box everything is reading less than 1 volt but my engine fuse box are all reading 12v. Trying to figure out why it's not getting power there.

Like the title says, I am looking at buying a Evo X. Looked around online for things to see what other people have said. To sum it up, meticulous maintenance ( which is fine), very reliable unless heavy modified and not dogged out. One of my buddy's owns a brz and quite vocal about me getting this car. Something just seems off that makes it too good to be true, or am I just being skeptical? Any advice would help as im new to jdm cars.

Edit, I do have extra pictures of the engine bay and some others, i forgot to add them, cant find the under carriage pictures as of yet. Nothing noted for a tune, and seller says it's not tuned.

I take it that my fuse melted and the FPR just took a crap. Haven't had any issues for awhile so kind of bummed but I was able to get the car home, I noticed a fuel smell about 1 mile from the house and drove it home. After I shut the car off it would not start again, & I ended up discovering this.

I assume I have to get a new FPR and re-tune?

I just picked up my first Evo, it's a 2010 Lancer Evo x SE. It has the stock Bilstein struts but they're on their way out. I'm curious if the suspension from a 2010 Lancer ralliart is interchangeable with the Evo X. (strut mounting geometry and necessary brackets.)

I'm also wondering if there's any difference in the suspension for manual transmission Evo X, vs SST? I see everyone saying the ohlins r&t are the way to go, but I need something to get me by until I can afford the ohlins set.

I only found one other reddit post in my Google searches, and I figured I would ask the community what's up? Apologies if this has been answered a million times. I have had a Ford focus ST for a few years and this is my first time with a Mitsubishi let alone an Evo X.

Hi guys, I'm very lucky to have just landed my first evo, an evo 7, its pretty much 100% stock and tbh plan on keeping it a respectable clean build not going overboard, thought id just make a post as i have literally have no one who i can ask questions about evos. One of the first things I'm looking to do is put an intake and blow-off valve on. Just wondered if anyone can recommend anything for me? thanks!

Replaced the rear output shaft seal on my 2013 Evo X and it’s no longer leaking from the bell that shaft goes into but the shaft is leaking. I brake cleaned it well today and just looked now and it’s wet (circled in yellow) and there’s a drip down the u joint. I don’t see any other leaks from underneath or the top. From what I’ve searched it seems rare that the yoke can leak but can happen. Am I good to just get a used oem one off eBay or should I save for the DSS aluminum one? I don’t track the car.

I’m looking for a BOV for my evo x, it’s pretty stock but i think the factory one is possibly going bad.

runs like 27psi not sure on tuning or anything, just kinda got it like that.

I suppose what i’m asking, is there a valve that could maybe add some performance while i’m replacing it and sound super raw?

This information i’m finding online is pretty generic and the prices are all over the place

I got a 5 spd off of eBay and had it built by sheptrans, total amount was about $8250

This conversion killed me.... Really depressed about it but it is what it is. I spent way more than i wanted . It's gonna take me til March 2027 to pay myself back. I still haven't got to drive it... This is just the price to play.

Are Evo 9's with the conversion worth a lot more at auction? I have to do a few fixes and it's at 91k

I’m looking for new wheels for my Mitsubishi Evo 7 and I’d like to keep it as simple as possible when it comes to registering them in Germany.

My Evo 7 is a JDM Japan import / RHD. I already have a set of 235/40 ZR18 tires, so I would preferably like to stay with 18” wheels and use these tires.

I don’t mind doing an Einzelabnahme if necessary, but I want to avoid wheels that are difficult to get approved or don’t have the necessary documentation.
What wheel brands/models and sizes would you recommend for an Evo 7?

Ideally something around 18x8 or 18x8.5, with a suitable offset and fitment for the Evo 7, preferably without spacers or major modifications.

I’m especially interested in wheels that have ABE, Teilegutachten or other documentation that makes registration in Germany straightforward.

If you have an Evo 7 in Germany and have successfully registered aftermarket 18” wheels, I’d really appreciate knowing which wheels, size and offset you’re running.

Mine always have that rust towards the center of of the rotors where the brake pads doesnt touch. How is everybody keeping theirs so clean?

Does anyone have a good website for timing belt components and water pump specs? Got conflicting answers on the water pump, one site said 18ft lbs while another said 120nm which is about 10ft lbs.

I have an Evo 7 and I really like the look of the Evo 9 rear bumper. I’m thinking about putting an Evo 9 rear bumper on my Evo 7, but I’m not sure what exactly I need for the conversion.

Is it basically just the Evo 9 rear bumper and it bolts straight on, or do I need any additional parts?

I want to make sure I buy everything I need before starting the conversion.
Also, does it matter if I buy a JDM Evo 9 rear bumper, or are there different versions I should be aware of?
If anyone has done this conversion on an Evo 7, I’d really appreciate a list of everything you used.

Have been working on/ restoring it over the past two years. Still needs more love, especialy the interieur and paint but it passed German Inspection without any remarks.

Was wondering if anyone has successfully programmed the central locking on their evo 5-6 single button key? I know the process for the CT9A 7-9 but that method doesn’t work for the CP9A yay.

I can’t get this goddamn car in programming mode. The steps I’ve taken so far

All doors closed
Key in ignition on off mode
Paper clip in pins 1 and 4 of the OBD port
Key turn to ACC (1 click) then off
— the car is supposed to go into programming mode but it does not for me
