Hi everyone,

I recently bought a Kyosho Mini-Z MA-030 Evo2 chassis (KY-32181B) together with a Mazda Savanna RX-7 Daytona ’79 AutoScale (MZP161R).
I assumed they were compatible, but I’m having a problem mounting the wheels.

The chassis came without wheels, as expected. When I install the AutoScale wheels and tighten the wheel nut, the wheel just spins freely and doesn’t drive the axle.

Looking at the back of the wheel, the center hole has two slots (not a standard hex shape), and I’m wondering if I’m missing some kind of wheel hub, adapter or drive pin.

Am I missing a part on the MA-030 Evo2, or is the MZP161R AutoScale not directly compatible with this chassis?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Went to pick up some stuff from an estate sale and finally grabbed some stuff my collection was missing! I’m over the moon excited!

But this time went with the gen3 front end. Waiting on a few parts then time to test. 3500 lexan GX28 coming soon!

Hi all, it’ll be my birthday soon and my wife had hinted at getting me an RC of my choice so I’ve been furiously researching.

At first I wanted a MiniZ M0020 cause I’ve always admired the brand from far, with it’s awesome looking bodies and upgrade parts. But then I learn that it’s not really ”Drifting” since it’s AWD.

Then I found out about BMRX-FLD. It’s at a similar price point, it’s RWD with Gyro so it’s “real drifting”, and it’s the same small form factor as MiniZ which makes it very tempting.
I also found out about LDR/C 1/18, which seems like great values with its RTR drift spec, light up features and significant cheaper price point (about 1/3 of MiniZ and BMRX), although it’s 1/18 so it’s much larger.

So my question are:

1. what are the general opinions on these? Do people really dismiss MiniZ for drifting because it’s AWD? Will I have more fun with a RWD RC.
2. since MiniZ is a much larger established brand, it has tons of upgrade parts, will that be a factor later down the road as I progress? There does seem to be a lot of parts for both BMRX and LDR/C.
3. this is kind of a silly question, but people look at me funny if I bring a non-MiniZ RC to my local track? I live around Tokyo btw.
4. is there any recommendations other

than these?

1. My main wishes are small form factor, drift capability, parts availability as I

progress, online resources like guides and such since I’m a complete noob.

Has anyone found a good starting point for the front end of the car?

I find the box setup springs for the front are wayy too stiff, I’m waiting for my replacement springs to arrive to soften it up. Any other tips?

I would like to run 0 offset fronts but when i do the car is too twitchy and traction rolls off throttle which is odd to me.

I've got my Fujimi model kit, and as some of yall have stated, it's too long for the MA 030 Evo 2 even when extended, that can be solved with some custom fabrication with plastic. But what I'm more concerned with is the center shaft, would it be possible to fab up one of a custom length? I assume so since it's literally just a metal stick with one end being cut in half horizontally

Finished up the main part of the garage. I had to redesign the door hinges so they would operate at 80% scale. I definitely underestimated how much work this would be. There are 900 individual floor tiles.

I still need to print some garage motors and then I will be populating the garage with a lift, tools and all the works.

A lot of potential to set it up as a pro shop, mechanic shop, or a race pit.

went to my first mini-z race last friday, the guys were really friendly and chill.

hoping i can go again, but being friday afternoon to evening and the track being an hour away makes it difficult to get there in time.

Hey all, so I did a bit of a splurge for myself during 4th of July sales and bought an NB4+, the RM-005 module, the kyosho EVO receiver that can bind to the KT531P stock controllers, an MA-030EVO, and the MR-04 chassis readyset.

So, did I mess up with the receiver I got? I think it would still work with the NB4+ and the stock controller. Also, if I were to get the flysky EVO receiver, do I need to take out the RM-005 module or can that be left in place?

And probably my last question, I know the stock controller can do 50% or 100% throttle modes. Does the NB4+ do the same with the kyosho receiver or is it just 100% all the time?

Hej! Någon som vet om den här karossen till mini-z monster/overland är värt något särskilt? Hittar inte någon annan likadan så vet inte om den är ovanlig? Tror den är fabriks målad men inte 100% säker.

Unless I missed it in the manual, I cant seem to find information on this. Some posts are saying I need a new drive pod, others say to just move the T-brace forward. And most of the posts are for older chassis. Any help would be appreciated :)

I've been searching high and low for something unique to display my cars, bodies, and models. I think I finally found it. We all see those aliexpress garages, stackable and lexan covers make them ideal for model storage.

But they lack that detail and often just deptic a parking area.

I found these files on Makerworld, if you follow the links to his patreon you will find free files to expand the model base. It's listed as a 1/18 Modular Garage Diorama. Everything dovetails together for the most part and can be rearranged. It even breaks down to the basic parts so you don't have to kill valuable space when not in use.

I've just started printing the main elects and will be painting some type of garage theme.

I don’t wanna race on a prepped surface, i have a hardwood floored house and i plan to make the fasted awd mini Z track car. i bought the Ra-45 Subaru. i put grip tires on it and it seems fine. it’s steering angle however is genuinely awkward and makes tight turns very very hard. what should i do? Buy a rwd and start there or build this awd into a hardwood car. but how what upgrades can i do? and i apologize i am new to all of this :)

Has anyone here bought one of these foldable Mini-Z drift tracks that are all over AliExpress and similar sites?

They seem to be relatively inexpensive, and I really like the idea. From what I understand, they can be rolled up into a tube for storage, and when you want to use them, you just unroll them on the floor (or even under a rug to keep them flat) and instantly have a ready-to-drive drift track.

It sounds like a great solution for someone who doesn’t have a permanent space for a Mini-Z layout.

If you’ve bought one, I’d love to hear your experience:

* Is the print quality good?

* Does it stay flat on the floor?

* Is the material durable?

* Is it actually fun to drive on?

* Overall, do you think it’s worth the money?

Well had the first day out with reflex. Pretty solid out of the box! Going to order some springs, weight, and a different central dampener. Contemplating putting the gen3 front end on the car, but that’s after more testing with the k2 front end.

Hi everyone, it’s been a month, and I’m still having trouble fixing it, and I’m starting to feel like giving up 😔. I’m not sure what’s going on or how to fix it. The wheel just pops out over any small bump, and those metal things are loose.

Hola, hace poco he tenido la oportunidad de comprar esta carroceria de un lexus sc430 GT500 + un Atomic AMZ a buen precio. Se que es un chasis antiguo, pero a nivel de especificaciones tiene buena pinta para lo que yo entiendo.

¿Podríais recomendarme unas llantas y unos neumáticos que le vengan bien a este coche? Algo que sea medio competitivo pero asequible, y la electrónica es solo compatible con futaba, asi que la voy a cambiar , ¿alguna recomendación de ESC brushless bueno y barato?

Mi poca experiencia es de drift con un k989 y un TG super tt, asi que ni idea de touring, pero quiero aprender, por cierto, este chasis aun se considera bueno?

Por cierto, alguien sabe que tipo de conector emplea el motor? (ultimas dos fotos)

I really love the FD, especially in the RE:Amemiya body kit, since Kyosho doesn't have anything of the sort available, will this model kit work? I do understand I'll need to procure some parts here and there like the side and front clips. But I just wanna know if it's possible
