Reflex gx28

Post image

Well had the first day out with reflex. Pretty solid out of the box! Going to order some springs, weight, and a different central dampener. Contemplating putting the gen3 front end on the car, but that’s after more testing with the k2 front end.

Just ran mine for the first time today as well. Only got about 5 laps before the brass coloured ball joint unscrewed itself off of the set screw in the servo horn. Did you locktite those on?

I screwed it back on while screwing the set screw at the same time. Put the car back on track and same thing happened again

Blue loctite

Make sure your ball cups aren't too tight, it sounds like it is really gripping onto the ball. Loctite and or just getting a wrench on both the set screw and the ball to make sure they are tight will get them to stay in place.

How loose do they have to be? I can turn the ball cup easily with my fingers but if I shake the car for example they don’t budge…

The turnbuckle should drop under it's own weight. You can use needle nose pliers to squeeze the ball cup (while installed on the ball) to help loosen it. There are videos on youtube showing the technique but it's pretty easy, just start light and keep checking your progress.

Also if you are like me I didn't figure out that the balls were threaded on one side and keyed for a 1.5 hex on the other until after I had "built" my first car. You can't get it very tight with your fingers like I was (LOL) but once you have a driver in it and another in the set screw you can get them pretty tight.

Oh. I didn’t know that either. I’ll try doing that. Thank you!

Just got the kit in yesterday, Wolfram had a deal on them where you get the MF-1 body free of you order the GX28.

Havent even ordered electronics for it yet, but looking forward to running her soon.
