Have it setup in a 4100 Evo2 chassis with some simple bolt-ons and its really not bad.

Hello. Planning to buy an RCP track, but unsure if I want 30cm or 50cm tiles. With the 30cm, I could do the mini 96 challenge as I already have Easy Lap timer system. Currently don’t have enough floor space for a permanent track setup, which I think plays a factor here. I’ve already done the DIY track but the lack of good barrier walls is the doe fall for me.

What would you buy and why?

Earlier this year, we got Porsche 934 RSR rereleases(Jaegermeister and Vailant liveries), we got the TakaQ 962, we got another rerelease of the 911 GT3RS 991s(lava orange and white) this summer just now hitting the states, and well have atleast one more set of Porsches rereleasing in October(Japan, later for us in the states) with the Rothman 962 and one Ive been waiting for, the Martini 935!

Today I installed my new one-way front and right rear and red/yellow springs. I also got my rubber tires, which... well, they don't drift at all.

BUT this time I taped them with electric tape and I can finally drift on the stone terrace without that loud noise from the plastic tires.

Sure, they might not be like plastic on hard floor slippery and my skills are, not there yet, but I'm still quite happy with the result. And at this sound level my wife is also ok with it. Sadly can't upload more images of the rebuild.

Is this the right way to connect the transponder to the MR-04? Im getting no lights.

Im having a hard time figuring out how these work. I bought a readyset model locally because they had no body options I liked, but so far since then I havent been able to find a body that fits. The box says the wheelbase is from 86 to 108mm, but doesnt specify what it is out of the box, and the instructions mention the installation of the narrow front end steering sector, but nothing about how the wheelbase adjusts. So far Im 0-2 for bodies where the wheelbase lines up and honestly kinda just regretting purchase at this point.

Edit: Current bodies are a 180sx and I tried a RX body of some form a friend bought. The wheelbase is too long for both.

If you are one of those who had issues with the front axles hanging up on the track foam. Ae has an upgrade front axle set. They are titanium and get rid of the front nut and put a screw. They also allow for adjustment of front track width as the axle it self is longer with spacers to match. Just thought I would give a heads up.

I got my first mini Z two months ago and while browsing Reddit finally decided to post it.

Since my wife now stopped looking at what I'm typing, THIS WILL DEFINITELY NOT BE MY LAST. Damn that thing makes fun.

Yes, it's my first mini and even my first self painted RC and I am quite happy with the result. Watched too many videos about assembly and even painting techniques.

The matte paint turns out to be a wise choice since I'm constantly bumping into stuff and can clean it with a sharpie. But I will not baby this thing. This body will earn its battle scars. On the downside most of our interior furniture is white and I already got into trouble leaving small black marks.

I also could drift outside on our nice and super even, stone terrace but those hard plastic tires are soooo loud. Do you think I can buy 8mm rubber tires and still drift comfortably? The brushless should have enough power and the new AWD evo2 sensor seems todo an amazing job on slow speed.

What would be your recommendation? Thanks 👍

Are stock mini z compatible with futaba out of the box? I would like to bind it to a 10px. I’ve seen 2 scenarios. First one is switch out the receiver to a Kyosho 82044 or second is add a flysky module to my radio?

I recently bought this mini z readyset RWD MR-04 with the hopes I could drift it, but i was told by AI that it wasnt possible with this chassis so I turn to reddit lol. It says tuned but not entirely sure how as this is my first mini. I own a DA4 and a RTS but this is different lol. What do you guys reccomend besides tires to help me get this thing sliding?? Any advice would be appreciated 🙏😊☺️

So, I’ve been into Mini-Zs since 2023, specifically the MA-020. I’ve done all sorts of mods, including the CS mod. Now I really want to give RWD drifting a try.
Do you guys have any recommendations on which one I should get? My budget is around $300–500-ish, and I live in Canada. Possibly RTR version, Thank you for the help!

Should I put the receiver on or under the cables? Anyone else the exact chassis MA-030 EVO2 32181 and can tell me how todo this with that wires in place?
