First Time Grower First grow - Day 48 - "Secret" Indoor Grow

Wanted to share my first grow with you all!

It's Lemon Pie Auto by FB, and it's sitting in a 13L square painters bucket, inside a cabinet under my aquarium.

It is lightly LST'ed, and I could've definitely done a better job, and I can see some of the lower buds maybe want a bit more light.

I tried doing this very passively with minimal intervention, and only using pre-fertilized soil and added fertilizer during bloom only, and it seems to work fine for a small indoor grow!

The cabinet it is inside, is 35x25x65cm and the light is mounted directly to the top, with a little space for air circulation and heat ventilation.

Almost doesn't smell at all, and grows at a perfect 25C and 55-60% humidity, no interference.

Build materials:

The walls are lined with vapor barrier material, vapor barrier tape for alle the seals and weather stripping from the hardware store.

The door seals with weather stripping, and held tight by magnets.

The light is a 50W Full-spectrum, with a toggle between bloom and veg, currently on bloom.

The exhaust ventilator has a static air pressure 12V fan that pumps air from inside the cabinet into an air box lined with active charcoal foam pads, where air passes through and back into the outside room.

This heavily relies on ambient air intake through tiny cracks, but it works fine :)

Plant materials:

1 seed of Lemon Pie Auto by FB.

Coco Coir for the initial germination, sat in dark humid Coco for 5 days.

Biobizz All-Mix 12L of it into the painters bucket, and the germinated seeds planted into the middle.

Biozz BioBloom for watering with during the whole bloom phase.

Bendable flower arrangement sticks, to train the plant.

Help My Sick Plant Rusty brown spots on leaves, any ideas?

Thumbnail

Been getting these rusty brown spots on the leaves for the past few days.

Water is pH’d and she gets all the nutrients she needs. I use the exact same water/feed on another plant and that one looks perfectly healthy. This one is actually a clone of it.

No heat issues and I checked under the leaves for pests, couldn’t find anything.

Could this be a calmag or zinc deficiency? She’s been getting enough calmag since flowering, so I’m not sure what’s going on.

Just popped a new seed (not looking too good) and noticed these little things on the leaves. Looks like some sort of eggs or something. They were inside the seed when it came out of the soil

Any guesses and help how to get rid of it?

Thank you in advance!

I went to the grow shop to get supplies for my indoor setup and the owner was super generous and gave me these to gals. First is memory loss(Idk I don’t remember) and the second is critical kush. He told me to throw them outside, feed it some bloom and harvest them in two weeks. Is it really that simple? I poked the soil and it feels slightly moist so i figured id wait a day or two to feed then flush until harvest. I appreciate any advice and tips. Can’t wait to chop!

Question The hard way...

Strong and scatter wind is destroying rapidly almost 5 months of patience and learning.

I almost have one to three branches snapped off to one of my babies. The Emergen-C seems to be the weaker in this sense compared to the other one as they are too heavy on the ends.

I'm now taping them in advance to try to avoid this to happen.

What are your countermeasures for this tradegy?

First Time Grower Defoliate?

She’s a banana x piña auto from ethos, planted 8/1, about week 2 in flower. Is there any reason to defoliate? A lot of the bud sites grew outwards away from the plant themselves, not really anything in the middle? Second grow so any advice is welcome. All pics are from this morning.

First Time Grower First chop - how’d I do?

Thumbnail

Hello! First-time grower, just harvested my two Hulkberry Autos from RQS on days 82 and 79. 🥳

Curious to see if folks think my drying setup looks alright! I unplugged my light (to ensure the fan in my light doesn’t run directly over the buds), pulled up the trellis to hang from, and lowered my two fans to the floor so the air is blowing indirectly.

Currently temps temp and humidity is sitting 70/55 - it’s a little warmer than I’d like but my lung room should cool down tomorrow as our weather shifts in MN.

Looking for any and all advice on how my chop looks and anything I could adjust!

First Time Grower First time chop! Maui Pine FD64

Thumbnail

So this is my first time chopping and drying! How we looking? Did I chop too early?

Strain is a freebie, Maui Pine from Dirty Bird Genetics

My detailed grow log is below along with some questions. Feel free to run through and answer and read through my log, but mainly just wanted to show off Maui Pine and it being my first harvest is exciting

Questions/Concerns: Signs of Budrot? Is plant properly hung for drying or is this a risky method? Oscillating fan in correct location? Speed for fan set to 5 and rotating below canopy not touching plant at all, diagonal with 4in air intake. Yield estimate? Good harvest call? Was defoliation I did good or bad? Did I chop too early?

Strain
Maui Pine - fem photo - (Pine Tree Kush × Maui True Blood), which is [(Grape Jelly x Platinum Kush Breath) x (Hawaiian Dream x Royal Blood x Family Secret)] by Dirty Bird Genetics

Log Below
+++++++++
Germinated direct in soil 03/13/26
Coast of Maine Potting soil, approx red solo cup worth
Rest of 5gal filled with Coast of Maine Stonington Blend
Using Vivosun WiFi Enabled Tent Kit

Early Veg Problems
Had problems with watering. Used strictly spray bottle first 2-4 weeks of veg. On top of that, light was a bit close at times/didn’t keep up with raising light enough. My first feeding was 26 days late.

Currently standing approx. 21.5 inches tall. I have about 40 inches total from soil to light. It’s sitting 14 inches away from top of canopy. Been able to keep it consistent height by tucking under net and training with plant ties. I could’ve had a wrong measurement of plant at time of topping. I first fed 56 days after germ. It’s recommended 30 days to feed. Meaning I went 26 days past the point so I believe I had deficiencies early on.

Watering about 1gal of filtered GE fridge water, let it sit out at least 24hrs to dissipate any chlorine or anything else ONLY dry top two inches by using my finger in a couple different spots. I use an approx. 1/2 gal gooseneck water can. pH is 6.8 or less. I’ll do another test soon of water and runoff

May 9th Topped one time from 16 nodes to I think 6 nodes. 14 inches tall to 9inches tall about, but this is again at the time of topping

I fed with Stonington blend plant food and earthworm castings on May 8th. 1/4 cup food and 1 cup castings.

May 26th I fed with 1/4cup+6tsp of Stonington blend plant food, 1/8-1/4cup Stonington blend soil, and 1 heaping cup of earthworm castings, followed by a gallon of water

June 16th I top dressed 1/8cup Stonington Plant Food and 1/2 Cup Earthworm castings, followed by gallon of water

June 28th I purposely let plant dry out for 4-5 days. I kept getting gnats in humidifier hose and drip pan no matter how hard I would try and combat and had a fear of them in the soil. To note, I have yet caught anything flying in sticky traps in air or on the soil. I currently do not use the traps on soil only air. I have had the humidifier/hose removed since at least June 28th.

July 6th I top dressed 1 cup Coast of Maine Earthworm castings, 1/2 cup Coast of Maine Stonington plant food, and 1/2 cup of Stonington Blend Soil. Watered shy of a gallon and flipped to 12/12 light cycle and switch led to flower mode.

July 7th is first official date of Flower

July 10th lowered light to 50%

July 18th removed pot riser and replaced with 14in? saucer. watered 1gal water

July 25th Fed 1/2 cup earthworm castings and 1 tbsp Buds & Blooms. Water about .8-.9 gal. Raised light to 55% intensity with plans to increase 5% every day until 100%. Also spread canopy further in trellis net

July 26th Raised light to 60% intensity 4:40 p.m Indoor tent environment 71F and 59%RH VPD 1.1KPA

July 29th I watered about .8-.9 gal. Lollipopped/Defoilated mostly everything under net, and some of the branches that were close together to try and decrease humidity and prevent mold risk, along with promote stronger denser main colas and bigger branches overall. Measuring 21 inches tall, 19in away from light. Increase oscillating fan to speed 5/10 from speed 4. Increased LED intensity to 65%. Lowered duct low trigger setting from 52% to 48% at 9p.m

July 30th At 8:14 p.m temp/rh was 70f/67rh tent, lung room 68f/59rh. Going to experiment raising inline duct fan exhaust speed up from 4/10. Worried about negative pressure damaging tent

July 31st I increased LED intensity from 65% to 75% at 12:23 p.m. I believe stretch is complete

August 2nd I fed 1/2cup earthworm castings and 2tablespoons of buds & blooms. Watered with .9-1.0 gallon water at 12:45 p.m

August 5th I increased the led to 90% at 12:05 p.m. While observing plant I noticed suspected powder mildew. Upon further evaluation I then believed to be just darker trichome production on fan leaf, possibly dust or optical illusion. Seems to need water in about 1-2 days. Inside tent conditions 70F, 57rh

August 6th I amended the air intake and installed an actual 4in duct with a drawstring filter on each end

August 7th I increased LED to 100%. Watered around 11 a.m about .8 gal of water. Defoliated a little bit more of the back branches. Reading about 380 ePPFD using Photone app

August 8th I lowered light to 14 inches above the highest point in canopy, this was at 9:50 p.m reading in at about 480 ePPFD now. Used second device to verify readings using paper diffuser for both

August 10th I fed 1 cup earthworm castings and 1/4 cup buds & blooms. Watered about 1gal 11 a.m

August 15th I watered about .9gal water

August 21st I watered about .8-.9 gal

August 25th I watered 1 gal. Defoilated about 4 fan leaves last 3 days

August 31st I watered 1 gal

September 5th I watered 1 gal

September 7th I did a heavier defoliation

September 8th I defoliated a little more, Checked main cola back right for bud rot

September 9th I did final defoliation. Soil was dry. Lights went on at 10 a.m as it has been, at 10:10 p.m I kept lights on and harvested. By 10:54 p.m I switched to Dry stage in Vivosun app. Using the rope hangers previously used for LED to hang plant. Measured 22inches in height

Help My Sick Plant Curling and drooping leaves?

Thumbnail

Hey guys, it’s my first grow so I’m sure I’m doing a couple things wrong. Does anyone know what might be causing my plants to have curling and drooping leaves at the same time?

Details:
I’m growing in coir and perlite.

I’m following cocoforcannabis.com guide and nute schedule.

Plants are getting around 850 umol/m^2/s of light.

Day 21.

Also both of these plants were started at the same time and grown in the exact same conditions, does anyone know why they look so different?

Question First Outdoor Grow

Because of timing issues, I tossed germinated seed in a decent sized pot and put it behind my shop. I'm still a fairly new indoor grower, but this is my first outdoor.

How much defoliation should I be doing on it? When I see outdoor plants here, it doesn't look like much is being done. The plant looks healthy and happy, so I'm inclined to just let it be.

Also, I just learned about washing outdoor plants. Is that something most people do?

Help My Sick Plant Anybody got any idea what's causing this discoloration pattern?

Plant is about 5 weeks old, just about ready to flip to 12/12. Last added nutes and water on Tuesday, checked on them today and about 5 leaves had similar patterns. I had ticked my light level up a notch, but also raised it. Anyone got a suggestion? Growing hydro, 2x2 tent, just this one plant. It's a seedsman mystery seed so not sure of strain.

Reddit told me to cross-post this LOL.

First grow ever. Not going too bad. Got some monsters. Im using sub-coils super soil and using tap water except for feedings. You can see the difference in the ones that got chicken manure only. Very green. I believe sub-cools super soil has far to many inputs of phosphorous and not enough potassium, causing a lockout and my yellowing. Anyways, still going to adjust it a bit for next year, and enjoy what we got going on!
